I don't trade pins, but I buy them. :)

I know what you mean! If I like a pin enough to pay $10 + dollars for it I really don't want to give it up! I bought a few pins that I didn't like that much on ebay and I trade those ones. My mom and I are going to buy a lot of maybe 50 pins on ebay to trade with.

Hey everyone! I got two new Disney pins today! :) My parents went to DL yesterday with my brother and sister and sister's BF. He works for the studios so he got them in free (lucky them!) At least my mom got me some pins and a Christmas Mickey antenna topper. One is a Tinkerbell one and she has her hand on her hip and a smirk on her face and the other one is this one:

If you tilt in back and forth the pictures slide to show more princesses!

Anyone else do pin trading?
That's cute. I like that one!

Hi Molly. Same here. I buy them but I don't really do the whole trading thing. Although I know it's a huge deal and alot of people are very into it.

That's smart to get some on Ebay. I remember when DH and I first started buying the pins, they were around $6.

That was almost 13 years ago because my son was a baby.

Now the pins seem to start at around $9 and go up from there. Way up! I can't believe how expensive some of them are!! But it's fun. My two older kids are just now starting to get into the pins. We buy them one or two each time we go. My DS has decided to make his a villians collection. LOL

DSS and I are drawn to the pins, but this last trip we decided to collect the pennies. He was fine with that. His thought was that the pennies are cheaper, they are smaller and its less likely that we will lose them. My response...How old are you??

I love redoing rooms, painting, all of it. The problem is I have more imagination than anything.:sad2:

Today, the 2 gals I work with and I went to a class. There was this woman that was a total know-it-all.:headache: Literally. The class was in Portland, and this was our second run-in with this person. Im hoping that she wont be at the next class next month.(thanks for letting me do a mini-vent)

I am hoping that airfair goes down too. I checked flying out of Eugene, and Portland. They werent that different.

Have a good evening and tueday everybody! :wave2:

I collect squished pennies too! I have since I was 10. I probably have over 150 of them. Too full books from Disneyland and alot more that I need to put in a book. I have to get one where ever we go. My DBF's cousin brought me back one from Niagra Falls! That's probably the one from farthest away that I have. (I am in CA.)

Hi all! Nothing really to say this morning, other than I'm knee deep in work AND we're hosting Thanksgiving, AND, I'm not sure I like my family anymore!

We're trying to figure out what to do over the weekend that doesn't cost alot of money.....anyone have any good ideas?

Michelle

DBF and I are trying to decide what to do too. I get Thursday off and I took Friday off but we have no plans as of yet.

Anytime! I don't like people like that. They just get on your nerves too fast. And if you watch Survivor the know-it-alls are usually the first ones to go!! LOL

Yep, know-it-alls and rude, mean people are two things I really cannot tolerate. Unfortunately I seem to know a few of the latter. :sad2:

Wow, that's so cool! I wish I'd started collecting something like that when I was little. Not sure why I didn't.... :confused3

Uh oh, the not liking the family part doesn't sound good. This is such a stressful time for so many people. I hope things get better for you and try to take some time out for yourself, even just a few minutes to catch your breath!

I have no clue what to do over the week-end that doesn't cost alot. LOL But your in San Diego right? What about going to Seaport Village and walking around? Or to the beach? These are probably things you've done a hundred times though.

Enchanted is coming out this week. Anyone have plans to see that? We might do that Saturday. What about Black Friday sales? Any die hard shoppers in the group? ;)

Thanks, Beth! We're going through a time where me and my family are being excluded from activities, mainly because they simply don't think of us, but it's beginning to bug me. Alot. grrr.
I will be out on Friday morning as the stores open at 5 and 6. Won't be doing the power shopping this year, but want to take advantage of a few things.
I'm sure we'll be going to Enchanted, but not sure if it will be this weekend.
Thinking about going to the Hollywood X-mas parade on Sunday afternoon/evening. The kids have been talking about wanting to go see Hollywood, might be a perfect excuse. They're off all week, so I'm sure we'll all be crazy by then! :rolleyes1

Squished pennies...DS seemed to like those on our trip. They sell the books for them at DL, right? Do they have the correct number of spaces for the machines they have there?

Funny, at the time, I was incredibly annoyed that DH went off and spent "my" laundry quarters on 5 pennies for DS, but DS is still interested at looking at them, so I guess it was worth it.

Zoemakes5, that's rotten of your family. My dad's family is like that, and since his extended family seems to think invitations need to go through him to get to me, I'm rarely invited to anything. On the other hand, my MIL needs us FAR too much. Thinks she needs us. Doesn't actually need us, except for the times when she does and decides she doesn't, and messes things up (she was born in Korea and has never become fluent in English, nor does she read much English b/c her now-late-husband wouldn't let her learn, so she will do baffling things with her bills without asking for help, and then on the other hand will call us over every day to look at a statement marked clearly "this is not a bill", which is a phrase I wrote down for her and explained that it mean that it's, you know, NOT a bill, but she ignored that and freaked out anyway). :confused3

It's all behind my plans for us including a semi-deserted, libertarian-government (ha ha that sounds funny), fully wired-with-internet, island. Just leave 'em all behind. :upsidedow

Michelle

I am so glad we are not hosting this year! I KNOW I dont like my family any more!

I really want to see that Enchanted movie but I know none of my boys will go see it with me. Well Justin might but Kyle would harrass him no end! Oh well I guess I'll rent it!

I would love to go shopping. I ususally do. But this year I have to work. Dang it I really need a new TV too! I guess we will just go after work so I hope they still have the one I want.

I don't trade but I definitely buy them!
I buy the ones that I like the most and then I put them in a framed display case so I can look at them and show them off to people when they come over. Not like any of my friends/family understand why I collect them though!
Its fun though!

:grouphug: Good luck with all your Thanksgiving preparations, I am sure everything will turn out great! Try not to stress too much and remember that even if things go a little crazy, you'll get through it! Plus, you might look back on the craziness a few years from now and laugh about it. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry Michelle. That's not right. Ah, families and holidays. It's enough to make anyone crazy. And then you have those movies and tv shows where everything is perfect and everyone gets along. Um yeah, I don't really know any family like that!! :rotfl:

Best we can hope for is to make it through the holidays with out gaining more then 10 lbs, with at least a dollar left in our pocket, and no one in the extended family mysteriously locked up bound and gagged in the closet. :rolleyes1

The Christmas parade sounds nice! I think you should go for it!! :thumbsup2

I have 3 girls to take. Come watch it with us!! popcorn:: ;)

Sorry you have to work, but there are so many sales between now and Christmas, hopefully you will find a new TV at a decent price. :happytv:

Hi Ashley. My family doesn't understand why I go to Disney let alone buy anything from there.
But that doesn't stop me. ;)

Just got the final news from Willie about rates on rooms. He wasn't willing to quote me ent. rates and I honestly don't think there will be any available during this time. He says that the hotel is already sold out of NQQ2 rooms for our dates of stay. That doesn't speak too well for what we can expect for crowds. :(

Sooooo, here is what he can do. The following are group rates:

Premium (queen/queen w/Disney view in Bldg. 1 OR home office room - no view) $99+tax

Standard double/double room in Bldgs. 3-6 for $89+tax

If anyone needs more details on what these rooms are or what they offer, ask away.

Thanks Callie. How many rooms are needed to qualify for a group rate?

You know, Beth, I really have no idea. :lmao: I just told him we may have anywhere from 15-30 ladies. So, let's see how many are interested in staying at the HoJo with this rate, and I can keep a list and then fairly soon we will need to have people arrange for rooms through Willie and hold them with individual credit cards (giving him our group name -- which should be?????). :confused3

LOL Well, that's ok. If you happen to talk with him again, or if it's not too much trouble, maybe we can find that out so we know exactly how many we'd need to get to stay there.

So far we have around 30 ladies at last count, but I don't know how many are interested in HoJo. I can send out PMs to each of them, but it might be tough to pin some down with the holiday coming up and vacations, etc.

Another option, since there is no entertainment rate, is the Candy Cane Inn. I called there and for a group rate we'd need a minimum of 15 rooms.

Their regular rates for then are: (plus tax)
Thurs. 4/24 $112
Fri. 4/25 $123
Sat. 4/26 $123
Sun. 4/27 $112

They DO give a AAA discount though. It's $10 off per night. So it would be between $102 and $113 depending on which night it is. Divided by 2 for those sharing a room, that's not too bad. :confused3

I don't really care. I know we have some loyal HoJo fans. ;) But CCI is nice too and it comes with a breakfast. I can go with either. I suppose I should consult my roomie. :rotfl2:

I am going to send out some PMs and see what the others thoughts are so we'll have a better idea of whether or not we can qualify for a group rate at HOJO.

OKay, I just sent out 30 PMs so hopefully we'll hear something soon and we can start deciding how we want to tackle the hotel situation. :thumbsup2

And remember, we don't ALL have to stay at the same place. I think that would be fun, but if it doesn't work out at least we know we'll be meeting up in the parks.
