Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

I say we call a meeting to discuss where we're going to stay in April.

I've never stayed at either. I'll go with whatever the group decides, as I think it would be alot of fun being in a hotel together. I don't know, yet, whether I'll want a roommate, as I may be bringing a friend with me, but I'll put in a reservation as soon as a decision is made.

Morning ladies! I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed there is no HoJo ent. rate available. I have NEVER stayed at the HoJo without it and I have always told myself that the day it wasn't available, I would try the CCI. So, it looks like this may be my opportunity to do just that!

I also was so tempted to email Willie back and see if there were ent. rates the following weekend (the one that was almost chosen). But I realize the dates are set in stone now, so it really makes no difference.

I'm sure lots of you are super busy getting ready for the holiday. Hope everyone has a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Like I said if the ent. rate was available, then of course it would be a no brainer. But since it's not, now we have to make a decision and just stick with it. Once we book the room, then I'll be able to relax a little and not worry so much. As long as I know I have a place to stay, everything else can come later. I just don't want to end up sleeping in the parking lot!

And as far as the dates, I think it would be hard to change them now. I think some people have already made arrangements with work. So let's not find out!! Or if you do, don't tell me. Ignorance is bliss.....

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and make a reservation at the Candy Cane Inn.
Then on our next family trip, I'll look into staying at the HoJo. That way I'll get to try both places.

I've got tons to do today but I'm going to call and make a reservation now. I'll ask about a group rate too. I know we'd need 15 rooms to get that, not sure if we'll have that many staying there. They might also need to all be for the same dates, kwim? And we had a few who were only coming for part of the time.

The AAA rate might just be easier to deal with. But I'll ask.....

Okay, I just called CCI. Didn't get very far though. The lady who was making the reservations didn't have the answers to my questions, so she transfered me to the manager who wasn't there. I got a voice mail and left a message, so we'll see if/when he calls back.

Some of the things I want to know are:

1. What is the group rate versus the AAA rate?

2. If we don't have 15 rooms yet, and we start making individual reservations, and then reach the 15 room requirement, can we then link the rooms together, for the group rate later on??

3. Must everyone is the group stay the same dates? Will we still get the group rate if some come later, or leave earlier? (I'll probably ask this first since I already know not everyone is going to be there the whole time)

4. What if between now and the arrival date we lose some ladies, for whatever reason, and they cancel their room, bringing us below the 15 room requirement? Do we then lose our group rate?

So we'll see what he says. I have to leave the house very soon though, and I'll be gone awhlile, so I might miss his call. Hopefully not.

OKay, I'm back from all my errands and I now have everything I need for Thanksgiving dinner.

Hmmm, well, I could use someone to cook it for me. Any takers?

I never did hear from the manager. I'm not surprised.

Another thing I thought of is if we do get 15 rooms, and then as the trip gets closer and some people feel more comfortable with each other and decide to room together, then obviously our total will drop. That could be a problem too.
Just something to think about....

My DH says I'm a worry wart. I like to think of it as exploring every possible scenario.

Okay... I just went ahead and booked the CCI. I got a deluxe room from the 24th-27th, total cost was 446.20.

Deluxe room.... remind me again what the difference is between that and the standard?

I think I am going to call either today or tomorrow and just book a room too. At least I'll have one. I just will feel better knowing I have something booked! I can always change it later on.
And I can work more on the group info later since I never did hear from the manager.

Just a standard with the AAA discount.

And I sent an email to the hotel asking those questions about the group rate. I have a feeling though they are going to say we all have to arrive and depart on the same dates, and so far we have people coming in and leaving at various time, so I don't know about that group rate....

Actually I don't even know what the group rate is. That was one of the questions I asked. So it may not even be that much different then the AAA rate.

I'll let you all know as soon as I know.

As far as the trip is concerned, in regards to the hotel I'm not sure where I want to stay yet! CCI looks wonderful and I have always wanted to stay there. So, I think I'm leaning towards that one!That could change though, I tend to be an overplanner and I am constantly re-working things.

I have a few friend who might be interested in going, still need to iron out the days with them..if not, I would really like to share a room with someone for Thursday and Friday night!! I posted in the roomie thread...
We hosted Thanksgiving for my MIL, DBILx2 and SIL. They are all spending the night, and I fear, not all leaving tomorrow. They are all watching a movie...and I am hiding in the office on the computer. What does that say about me? I also ate TOO much and never want to see a piece of pecan pie again!!!
I plan to be up early to finish my Christmas shopping tomorrow and luckily no one wants to come with me!!!
Even as a child I disliked Thanksgiving. It is such a boring day. You spend the day sitting around waiting to eat...you eat...then you sit around!! I am too hyperactive for that...even with doing some of the cooking..and clean up..dull dull dull. I hope everyone else had a good day!!!

Hi Amy! I think the fact that you were hiding out in your office on the computer says you are smart!

And I said the same thing about the pie!! At least until today. Then I was ready for more.

When we were eating our dinner, one of my twins had the same thoughts as you. She said, "This is really boring."

I recovering from my "spent all day in the kitchen cooking Thanksgiving dinner and then cleaning up afterwards" hangover, my "I drank a few too many beers last night" hangover, and my "had to lay carpet and move furniture back into my kids' room" hangover!

I don't know what hurts more.....my knees from laying carpet, or my feet from standing in the kitchen all day yesterday. Of course my extemely sore knees and feet would explain the need for beer last night.
