Girls Only Trip ~ Summer Exchange thread (Complete! Thanks ladies!)

Is anyone else getting worried as these great packages are described that yours will totally fall flat, and you receipient is going to thank you just cause they were well brought up?

All of the packages sound so creative. I didn't write a poem, have a theme,tell a story,send a snack.

ARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!! I think I am a total failure!!!

I'm sure it will be awesome! I too am a Type A Personality but not quite 'squared' and I had a hard time trying to decide what to buy. Should I buy this or that or that or this??? :confused3 But I had so much fun shopping and I can't wait until the next exchange.

Thanks Beth for organizing this exchange!!

Thank you Laurie (DizNeeLuver)!!!

This is what was in my box:

Ice Cream scoop
Ice Cream bowl
Beach towel
Strawberry Whoppers
Wild Strawberry Crystal Light
Keychain fan
Strawberry color bath scrunchie
Lip smacker strawberry flavor
Paula Dean strawberry candle
Frozen treat maker
LifeSavers wild berries
Water bottle aqua color

all in a Mickey tote bag!!

I love it all! My assistant is SOOOO jealous! (I may have to share some of the LIfeSavers and Whoppers with her!)

She also hand-made a card with Stitch on the front (my fave character) with a poem that said:

A summer exchange
That's sent over the miles
That's fun to receive
and Hopefully bring smiles
It is meant just for you
and not a junk pile
It is sent from a Friend
In true Diva style!

It is SOOOOO cute! Thanks again :wizard:

I'm so glad you liked it!!!! :cool1: The first thing I thought of for summer was strawberries, so I tended to theme that way....... hope you like strawberries.....lol :rotfl:
I'm assuming the candle made it there in one piece? Always worry about sending glass......

:yay: :woohoo:  Woo Hoo first gift exchange as a Diva & I think it went ok!!!!!!!!!

I totally feel like this, but I did get a really cool card and put that in my box. :) I just hope my person likes my stuff as much as I like I liked my gifts. :)

OK, I am the LAST one to ship, due to my not paying enough attention to my exchange person's address. Luckily we both live in CA so it shouldn't take her too much longer to get my box. :) I hope she likes it!!!!

Beth, this was too much fun, I can't wait for the next one!!!!

I think my exchange Diva will like what I sent, but I sent a card with no poem or any fancy note, my only theme was summer, no stories, no snacks.... hopefully she'll like it. I think you're worrying too much! This is meant to be fun not to impress. I'm pretty sure we're doing this because we all love to give and not receive. It's the thought that counts AmySue you didn't fail! "Cheer up Charlie! Give me a smile. What happened to that smile I used to know?" (that song was so lame actually in the movie, do you know what I'm talking about... I say it all the time though to be silly)

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I've taken them younger in the past but I'm trying to get past that now! But you take those young ones girl you go! :cool1:

You see, I plan to be a feisty old lady, so I am starting early!! I managed to make a young (and ever-so studly) firefighter blush when I was seeing him with his lovely young dog Motley the other day. ( I am a veterinarian if you hadn't figured that from my username!!)

I thought, I made a fireman blush, my work here is done!!!:rotfl:

My package came this morning! Thank you so much, Steph!!!!!! The dark chocolate with raspberries candy bar is already half gone! Marty grabbed it out of my hand as I was opening the box, so we decided to share!
Also in the box was a green-striped beach towel--my favorite color!, two lime green mini trays, a green bowl with a picture of a monkey in it, and some super-cute note cards!
I love everything! It was very exciting to get the box in the mail, and now I can't wait for the next exchange!
Thanks again Beth, for setting this up!

Happy to hear you enjoed the package. I was feeling the same as Amy in hoping that I did a good job in what I sent. This was my first exchange. After seeing what everyone received in their packages, I have lots of ideas for our future exchanges.

Now, now. I will have none of this kind of talk. I didn't write a poem, or a story, or even have a theme. It's fine. And for those who did, that's fine too. That's what is fun about this. Seeing all the DIFFERENT packages. If they were all the same, what fun would that be???

So hush, and don't be hard on yourself.

Thanks Beth for organizing this exchange!!
You're welcome! I had a blast and am excited for more arrivals.

YAY, another awesome package!

Beth, this was too much fun, I can't wait for the next one!!!!
I'm glad you liked it!
No worries about sending. As long as arrangements are made so I know what's going on and don't think someone just forgot, it's all good. Actually we have one more that will go out on Monday.

A cool card? :scared1: I just scrawled a quick note on a random piece of paper with a sharpie....
That's what I used to do too when I did exchanges on the main DIS board. A piece of torn out notebook paper. LOL
But then a Rite Aid near me closed and they had cards on clearance 10 for $1 and that is the only reason I now have cards to send. Otherwise it would be notebook paper all the way baby.

I think so far all the exchanges have been great. I hope everyone has had a good time playing along so far and no one is really stressing about it. :goodvibes
Heres hoping we get more fun arrivals tomorrow. :wizard:

I'm glad to read that I'm not the only person who likes Halloween better than Christmas. I used to think I was the only one ! Every year I turn my front yard into a graveyard. Lots of headstones, wooden crosses, bats, blacklight, and fog machine. All the neighborhood kids love it. I make up goodie bags and stuff them full !!! I spend way too much money on candy !!!:hmghost:

Wow!
Look at allllllllllllllllll of the wonderful packages given and recieved.

It speaks so well of the sweet natures of the Disboard Divas.

I'm loving hearing about all the packages!

January, I cut and pasted your post and emailed it to my mother. She is out of town visiting HER Mother! She was so HaPpPy that You liked it!

The Dis couldn't handle it! :rotfl:
True.
Guess I'll just have to use my imagination. :rolleyes1

That sounds awesome!!! We do something like that too. We decorate our whole front yard. One side is spooky with tombstones and skeletons, and we have a couple fog machines.

The other side is more child friendly with different decorations and a pumpkin patch.

Last year we played really loud music to go with the fog machine and strobe lights, and one of the songs was Thriller. It was so fun to watch the adults, especially the ones around my age, who grew up in the 80's, start dancing to the music when that came on. :rotfl2:

Your goodie bags sound awesome. When we lived in Michigan Halloween there was so neat. There was this one neighborhood in town with streets lined with old Victorian houses. They already look haunted, but then they all get really into it and decorate and plus with all the leaves changing colors and falling, it looks like a movie set. Way cool.

I think one year we need to plan a trip to Salem, Mass. for Halloween. I've always wanted to go there. Or New Orleans and take one of their haunted tours. ;)
