Heather LOVE your little tree. VERY cute. When dh was in Iraq I didn't want to do a big tree so I just did a small one. Sometimes small ones are cute too! I know what you mean about missing the big ones. That is exciting about the surprise. I know what you mean though about the anticipation. I would rather be completely surprised!

Church went well, both services. So now I am home getting ready to go back. It is raining now. YUCK. I am so tempted to just not go but I promised the girls. AND I have to go to the stupid store. BLEH. Anyway have a good rest of the afternoon. I will check back in later.

I love all the pretty trees!

Beth--that is a really good idea about having 2 trees. I love how elegant your tree looks. Ours is mostly Disney ornaments I have collected since I was little and some crafty ones Maddie has made for us.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday. It has been snowing here and I am not too happy about that. Oh, well....today is one day closer to Spring.:rotfl:

Hello Everyone,
Love the trees. They are all so unique, but all beautiful. I thought I would post a few things that mean Christmas to my family, in addition to my tree.

Not Xmas, but I made this vegis tray for Thanksgiving. I thought it was so pretty.

First of all, this is what I woke up to today:

And this is my view, and the reason I put up with living next to Mukilteo Speedway:

This is my husband, checking out the big truck that was stuck on the hill in picture above, I thought it was cute that he had on his Mickey Sweatshirt:

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us Kelly and Tracey. :goodvibes

I love all of the tree pictures you all posted. Everyone did a great job decorating them! :thumbsup2

This is our tree for now, it has looked exactly like this for the past two and a half weeks:

After I took that picture I was going back to my room and my kitty (that has weight issues like her mommy) was sitting in the hallway with some little toy mice next to her so I put them on her and took a picture:

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! It's raining here and it's really rather cold, my toes and fingers are taking turns going numb and it's very hard to do anything because of it. I also realized today that I only have a month left of being 23, please don't make me get older! Yesterday I got a letter from my insurance company with a rate for life insurance, and I have to admit it depressed the heck out of me. Take me away to Neverland!

Hello ladies! I just finished decorating my new tree. It looks pretty good I think. I haven't taken a pic yet so I will do that later.

Spent all day at the field at a softball tournament. DD's team came in second. It was so cold out there today. We had to be there at 7:45am. Yikes! She had a great time though.

Now I have to finish off my statistics final. Wish me luck.

I've finally got internet access! I've had the most frustrating week dealing with Time Warner, but it's finally (cross fingers) back!

Things have been so busy with finals! I just got everyone's cards out yesterday, hope you guys get them soon!

I've been so busy that we haven't even decorated for Christmas. At this point, I feel like we shouldn't even bother! We're leaving for NorCal on Tuesday, coming back monday, then on Tuesday driving to Vegas to visit my family for christmas. It's kind of a bummer for me since I love Christmas so much!

I didn't mean to cause trouble, really.
I know you didn't. You aren't that kind of gal. ;)

Chocolate Overload cupcake from my mom's bakery.
Details please! What is that?? It sound heavenly.

I can't believe I am still going to Vegas with you after seeing this. Wow!

Because of stress issues and mirgaines, my doc wants me to be taking things easy.
:rotfl2:

I'm glad to hear you are taking it easy. No point in stressing yourself more then necessary. 13 trees would have been nice, and I bet they are pretty, but one sounds just right. :goodvibes

PS Beth I was telling mom that I would like to take the kids to Vegas next summer and she doesn't think there is anything for kids there.
First of all sorry about the birthday drama! Wow. Pot, smoking, pit bulls???
As for Vegas, there are things for kids. Looks like Jane went over a lot of them already. This website has some more: http://www.vegas.com/attractions/kids.html

My kids loved Adventure Dome. We had buy one get one free coupons, so we got the all day wristbands and they all had a blast. It's not Disney of course, but most kids like the rides.

Finally, depending on where you choose to stay, most hotels have fairly large and elaborate pools--Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay and the Golden Nugget are among the best.
The only one I disagree with is the Hard Rock. It's too much of a party atmosphere imo. The pool at Flamingo is pretty cool.

Plus if I remember correctly there was like a whole coca cola shopping area that was interesting and of course there is the freemont street experience which I thought was neat and it seems like I remember a star trek museum. I mean don't get me wrong I know the place is mostly geared towards adults but it seemed like when I was there even in 97 there as plenty of stuff to see even for kids. Plus how far of a drive would it be to drive to the Hoover dam? Is that a doable day trip?
The Coca Cola store isn't that big anymore. But there is M&M world which is about 4 floors and has a 3-D movie that's rather cute.
You will see things that are very adult, so you might want to be prepared for that. The other day we pulled up to a stop light and there was a huge moving billboard next to us with three half naked women on it, and the words "Girls direct to your room" on it.

My kids are used to that and aren't very sheltered so it's not a big deal. But you might get some questions if they haven't seen that sort of thing before.

Hoover Dam would be a nice side trip and is definitely doable as a day trip. Or even half day.

A couple of other things I thought of to do are the gondola rides (choice of indoor route or outdoor route) and Madame Tussaud's wax museum at the Venetian, the Blue Man Group, and yes, they still have the Pirates Show at TI. This is another thing that we have never done, but from what I have heard it is not as kid friendly as the original version of the show that you may have seen. It is the Sirens show and is more about hot girls than Pirates. But, if anyone has actually seen it, feel free to jump in as my info may be off base!
My kids enjoyed the gondolas. And they like the Sirens of TI show as well. It is more risque with the female dancers now, but still a good show. And it's free, which is always nice.
The volcano just reopened recently at the Mirage so that's another thing to see that's kid friendly and free.

Hi gals. Well I am back from the gingerbread project. That was fun! We had a great luncheon. They made 4 different kinds of soup and one was a potato soup and they had bacon and cheese and sour cream so I kind of made my own baked potato soup ala carnation cafe! YUM! And they had a great salad bar with lots of yummy fixins and several different yummy breads so it was pretty tasty if I do say so myself. Then after lunch we got started on our gingerbread.

Now I don't know if you remember but I said I was the person who is NOT crafty at all but hey I actually made a house that didn't fall over! Now granted it looked like ca ca compared to some of these whizzes! But hey at lease mine had 4 walls and a roof. Albeit my roof collapsed and nearly made my whole house collapse but if I had had more time I think I could have made it look a lot better. Some of thse people though SHEESH. The winner made an igloo comlete with fire outside and a mailbox and all kinds of crazy stuff. It was awesome. And one group made a nativity scene. Some people AMAZE me at what they can do. But at least mine stood up. And I only used what I had. Lots of people brought props from home. It was fun though and the kids had a blast.

Of course then we had to go to the store and it was absolutely packed and of course it was pouring rain and as wendy said it is not only raining but COLD here. It VERY rarely snows here, maybe once every 15 years or something and it doesn't stick or anything but they have actually said it might snow a bit. Crazy! But anyway then I go in the store and it is so packed you can barely get down the aisles and then this person had left their cart RIGHT in front of the cases of sodas that I needed and walked off. I HATE when people leave their carts unattended. So I moved it but not too much in case they were within eye range and got all huffy that I was "moving" their stupid cart eventhough they deserved it for leaving it UNATTENDED! So I had to squeeze in between it to get my case of soda and sure as heck when I grabbed the carboard handle it broke and the stupid soda cans went everywhere. Needless to say I was MORE than a little peeved. I got them out of the aisle, grabbed another case and went huffing off. I hope whoever left that cart there has some major bad karma coming to them. GRRR

Anyway I'm just glad I am home now and don't have to go out anymore.

It is supposed to rain again tomorrow of course and I have to work again. BLEH! I wish I didn't have to go anywhere but oh well. It is the girls last week before vacation but unfortunately I can't say that I am going to even get a break at that because I have to work on that Monday and then my stepdaughter is going to work those 2 weeks so I will most likely have to get up and take her to work anyway which is a lot farther than taking her to school. BLEH! So much for sleeping in!

Anyway I am off to finish lost and then tonight is the survivor finale! Can't wait. It should be a good one! :)

See you gals tomorrow!

Details please! What is that?? It sound heavenly.

It's a chocolate cupcake that has a chocolate chip cream cheese filling, and it has whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top. It was so yummy! Maybe I can bring some down to Anaheim for the Girl's Trip. :thumbsup2

Hi Girls! I just got home from a holiday party, and now I'm off to bed. I hope everybody is having a great weekend!
Hope you had fun at the party!!

Lovely tree! We (Disney store) have a new tinkerbell topper that is the Tinker Bell from her movie, she is SOO cute. I like her way more now after seeing that movie.
I love my Tink topper. We got it in WDW so it always reminds me of our Christmas trip we took there. :goodvibes

Here is our tree for what it is worth.
I love your tree! And I love that it's so big!!
My MIL bought us a used pre-lit 9 foot tree. Some lady had bought it for $500 and then after using it only once was selling it in a moving sale for less then half price. MIL bought it for us, but I already have 3 and the thing is so tall and full, that it takes 3 boxes to store it!! I simply don't have room for that, so I had to tell her to keep it.

Are you all good with surprises? I suck at them.
First of all, your tree is so cute! I love it. We used to have a table top one too. It was so much easier, that's for sure.

I am lousy at surprises! I cannot wait to find out what it is, and will be sneaky to find out ahead of time. Case in point, one year Ruben told me he was taking me somewhere but wouldn't say where. An over night get away. He'd arranged for child care and had booked the hotel.
This was when we were living in CA and I figured it was probably a quickie to Vegas but wasn't sure which hotel. We'd been talking about staying at the Venetian because back then we hadn't stayed there yet.

So I waited til he was at work one day and called the hotel. I said that I was calling to confirm that my husband had called to make our reservations like I had asked him to, and could they please tell me if there was a reservation for Ruben (last name). Sure enough there was!!!! :rotfl: I figured it out!! LOL He was a little irritated with me because he'd wanted it to be a surprise, but I assured him it was!
I said I was very surprised when the lady told me that yes he had a room there!! :lmao:

I'm still here we have had 4 days of storms, and flooding it's been nasty.
I hope the weather clears up for you!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday. It has been snowing here and I am not too happy about that. Oh, well....today is one day closer to Spring.:rotfl:
But the snow is so pretty......:rolleyes1 (easy for me to say right?? lol)

OMG, that soup sounds so good!! YUM!
I can't wait for the Survivor finale tonight. I will be happy with either Sugar, Bob or Matty winning. I like them.

 That sounds sinfully good.

Now I have to finish off my statistics final. Wish me luck.
Luck! :wizard:

Wow, sounds like you have a lot going on. I wish we were going somewhere but noooooo, we're sitting home. :sad2:
Glad you got your internet working again!

I am all caught up!! :cool1: I hope everyone had a good weekend. I've been wrapping teacher presents today and working on laundry. Shoot, I'm always working on laundry. That's just a given around here. LOL
And the kids were working on cards for each of their classmates. Just sort of a lazy day. :)

:rotfl2: Yeah, I'm bad like that also. DH gets really mad though, so I'm trying to be better about it, and he tries to not tease me. Back in the day, when I was in HS, my mom thought she'd outsmart me by wrapping my presents immediately. What she failed to notice was that we still had the same wrapping paper in the house. One year, I had a gold herringbone necklace that I wore on two dates before Christmas even arrived. I just rewrapped it after wearing it. I still don't think she knows about that one. :rolleyes1 Actually, I'm positive about it, she's not one to just let things be. I've been told many times about all the problems I caused when I was little. You'd think I was born with horns the way she tells it.

Now, I'm a perfect angel. ;)

Wendy, Kelly, and Tracey-You have great trees in all forms of decorations! Are you actually going to decorate your tree Wendy? It looks cool....I've never seen one like that.

Tracey, I love the train and castle under your tree. Very cute! We have Christmas books under the tree instead of presents. My boys are like me...wrapped presents wouldn't last there.

Kelly, my BFF has a huge 3500 sq foot log 'cabin' and has a 15 foot tree in the center of it. It's amazing but huge! I think I could handle a 9 footer though. It's sooo cheery and christmasy!

Did you get any ornaments on that tree yet girl??? :santa:

No ornaments yet!

Are you actually going to decorate your tree Wendy? It looks cool....I've never seen one like that.

Yep, we actually just started decorating a few hours ago, but only the lights are up. We found out we'll have my youngest niece for a couple days this week, so we're decorating for her. :goodvibes

I never took the lights off my little tree! :rotfl: It came prelit, but I'm light *****....I can't get enough. I just put an extra set of lights on each section, so this year, I just had to plug everything together, and voila the lights were on!

It's so much fun having little ones at the holidays isn't it?
