How is everyone today?

Sarah~ What kind of glasses did you choose?

Molly~ How is walking & E?

Capri~ How are you essay's coming along?

Tracey~ Hi!

Cheryl~ Are you still recovering from the wknd?

What's for lunch ladies?
I am having baked BBQ chips & Turkey sammie & Logic homework (I don't understand it).

Omigosh--I am so tired!! I would have thought getting a good night's sleep last night would have put me back to normal but :surfweb: today!

Good morning ladies!:goodvibes

I have read back a little and need to say hi to our newest ladies.

Hi Janelle, Kerri, and Laurie! Nice to meet you. My name is Melody.

Laurie, I'm pretty sure we met Sunday morning for Dole Whips! :goodvibes You and your DH are just wonderful for taking in all of these special children. :goodvibes

To the Moms with dead beat exhusbands. I'm sorry you have to go through tuff times with them. But it sounds like you all are doing a great job on your own, even though it is hardly fair. Your children will rise up and call you blessed some day, for all of your love and devotion you give to them. :grouphug:

Kelly, the pics are darling of your girls. The pics are making me hungry for some good ole cake! I hope things calm down in your area with this swine flu scare! Take care!:flower3:

Dawn, welcome back. I'm so jealous of you guys. Looks like you all had a great time together! I know it was hard to see you all, and not be able to see how things were going. But it was still fun to see you and your cute tees and flower crowns. Please get well soon!! :flower3:

To the ladies going to school. I don't envy you one bit right now. I bet it is getting intense with the year coming to an end. Essays......tests.......:sad2: Take good care of yourselves, eat well, and try to get plenty of rest! :thumbsup2

Tonight I'm trying a recipe from Giada DeLaurentis. Mustard glazed salmon. Then serving it with feta cheese, tomato couscous from Bobby Dean. (Paula Dean's son). I'll report back if the salmon is a winner. I know Beth will be chomping at the bit for this news! :rotfl:

I have yet to hear how you all did in the contest?

I know I am forgetting something. Oh well...............:upsidedow

Melody--we won't know until next week how (bad) we did! They only announce the first few winners and then post results later. Let's just say I'm hoping I can still say "didn't lose on the MouseAdventure"

I want to know how that recipe is--I love everything you describe. Your grandsons are such cuties and your DD is a sweetheart. I wish we could have spent more time with them.

Hi Deb and Divas,

I've been BIZZEE with school work, but I got my last three assignments done and turned in yesterday, which was the last day of my first class.

Today I started my orientation to teacher education, which is only a week long. Then immediately following the orientation, I start my next class, The Art and Science of Teaching 501.

Enjoyed seeing all the pics of MA - that looked like it was so much fun. I miss all you guys!

Kelly - cute pics of your girls. The cake looked delious, and so did the bread! YUMMO!

I'm not sure what I'm having for lunch today. I've gained some weight recently, so I'm being conservative with the eating. A glass of water maybe? :rolleyes1

Thanks Cheryl!

I know I wish I could have spent some more time too.

You guys are already winners for just trying.:thumbsup2 It sounds like it was quite challenging. I would say alot more than our scavenger hunt!!

Congrats on finishing up those papers!!!! I would love to go back to school to be a teacher. I went to school long enough to get my preschool teaching certificate. At the time that's all I wanted to do. Now...well I just don't know what I want to do anymore but I certainly miss working with kids. They were easier than adults are!

Hello!

I got some rectangle shaped glasses...medium frames as in not too thick. They will be in 2 weeks from yesterday! I went to the dentist yesterday and had a filling done. It was half the day before the numbing wore off. On a good note they had time to make my molds for the teeth whitening trays. Those will be in a week from yesterday!

I made 3 loaves of banana bread and an apple pie yesterday. It was my first pie ever and it came out great! I am very pleased! My crust was really flaky!

I had lean pocket and apple pie for lunch...yum!

Sarah

My nana made me homemade tacos. Mmmmmm!
Yummy!! I'm still hungry!!

Wow you are getting yourself all spiffyed up!! Is there a special occasion or somethin?

I also would love some of the pie and banana bread. That would make a nice dessert to the tacos!! ::hyper::

mmhmm...tacos..I am thinking tacos for dinner now.

Sarah~ I can't wait to see your new glasses. I made banana bread on Sunday morning, just one loaf. I would probably burn the pie. :lmao:

Oh I LOVE new glasses!!!! I get so excited at the beginning of the year when I get new ones!!! Sooo two weeks huh? Do you have VSP? :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear about the filling..those are never ever fun.

Oh what I wouldn't give for some bananna bread right now...that sounds soooo good!

I hate to admit this but I have NO idea what VSP stands for...can you enlighten me?

Thank you!

I am also having a facial in a couple weeks. As far as reasons, well, I just don't feel really great about my appearance right now. I have no motivation to lose weight right now and I am hoping by getting some other things done I will feel better about myself which may give me the motivation to lose weight. I am also considering tanning...I know it is not real good for you, but when I did it when I was a bit younger I remember how peaceful it was just to be there where it's warm and no one will disturb you. I almost always fell asleep in the beds. I think I may wait to do the haircut until closer to my disney trip in september...but we will see.

HMMM tacos for dinner...that's an idea...I don't think I have the ingredients, but I could put them on the list for next week.

I have VSP and I have no idea what it stands for either. :confused3Its vision insurance is all I know.

OH, no I don't have vision insurance...at least not that pays for glasses. I basically get one eye exam a year. That's it. Oh well, at least it's something. I didn't go to the optomotrist for 5 years because I didn't have insurance. I actually don't have dental either so I have had to pay for my cleaning, cavity, and teeth whitening on my own, though I doubt insurance would have covered the teeth whitening.

It stands for Vision Service Plan...and like Stacey said, it's vision insurance.
That's where I work and when you said it would take up to two weeks that's what our docs have to tell members too.

OHHHH, totally makes sense now! I think that is one of the options we have if we want to add it to our other insurance but I have to say I didn't do it this time. It is always a consideration but I will probably wait till the kids are a bit older and see if they will be needing glasses or the like.

Now that is wonderful!!! What a feel good moment for you!
Have either of you ever had people say to you that you should have tried to work it out for the sake of the kids? I still sometimes get that.....and my answer is NO. Divorcing him is the best thing I did for me AND Ayden.
Nope and I’ve never looked back! ;) I was married for 21 years and believe me it wasn’t an easy decision for me but I just couldn’t deal with him drinking, putting his friends before Whitney and I, his get rich quick schemes…I wasn’t happy and I didn’t want to 80 and look back and say what if…Whitney was 12 when we divorced so she wasn’t young but it was hard for her – she was angry at me for awhile but then she began to see her dad’s true colors and understands. What a happy day that was! I rarely got any child support and I just didn’t have the energy to take him back to court because I figured I wouldn’t get much anyway because I made more money and was regularly employed. We struggled too but I made sure that Whitney didn’t suffer and she also got a job in high school to help pay for extras that I just couldn’t afford. No regrets though!
My DBF is understanding of it too, thank goodness. In fact, we invited Ayden's dad to come to DL on our Xmas trip. He was given 9 months of advance notice to start saving. Putting away 50 bucks everytime he does his shows wouldn't hurt him. I am not holding my breath....he can't save a dime. I just wanted Ayden to experience DL with his dad too. That AND....it's better than him one day taking him for a week on his own to go. I don't trust the man at all!
Good for you! When I met DBF he was at WDW with his ex wife and her husband (who she had cheated on DBF with and the reason for their divorce) and their kids. My DBF is so forgiving and he also realizes that it is all for the kids. They had a really great time! At first I thought it was really odd :eek:but in the end my DBF and his ex’s relationship does make sense….for the kids. ;)

I saw Giada at the Festival of Books…darn I can’t remember the name of the recipe that she demoed, it wasn’t salmon! But the Mustard Glazed Salmon sounds wonderful! I am a huge salmon lover and would love to have the recipe!

Way to go! When I went back to finish my bachelor’s degree 9 years ago, I just loved going to school even though it was stressful trying to work part time and raise a child but I would go back in a heartbeat! I think though I would just like to take Liberal Arts classes! At my age I don’t feel like changing careers but just like to go to school!
My nana made me homemade tacos. Mmmmmm!
Oh yummmm…I am trying so hard to eat good and lose some weight so I had a whole wheat pita with hummus, sprouts, low fat cheese…I’m still hungry!! I’ll just go drink some more water!

And banana bread…this is like watching TV with all of the food commercials. At least I don't have a visual! :hippie:

Thank you Melody.... we probably did meet at the Dole Whip gathering..... I'd be the one that looked lost...... :rotfl:

Janelle, sorry that Ayden has strep throat...poor little guy!! Hopefully the meds get him better quick & keep away all those nasty flu germs!!!

Hope everyone is having a good day......mine's a bit stressful...... Hubby & son got called back to work (a very good thing) but it's been a while since I've been left alone all day with the twins & the 3 yr old!!! :scared: I'm a little overwhelmed....got out of the routine of doing it solo!

For all the deadbeat dads.......karma's a ...... well you know the rest of the saying!!!! Good for you single moms that keep things going....you're an inspiration & your kids will thank you!!

K, gotta run for a bit & deal with crying babies......will check back in later!!!
