So, I'm sick AGAIN! I'm getting really tired of this! I have a nasty cold. If it's not one thing it's another. But, that's why I haven't posted about my bday at DLR. I've been primarily in lurker mode.
Anyway, dropped of Riley and friend at school on Tuesday at 7:30 and then Ethan and I headed up to DL. It was icky. When we drove around the curve on I-5 right before the car pool lane exit to DL, I was dismayed, there was a dark dark line of clouds above DL. AND, it was pouring. We got parked and onto the trams, where we had to move in towards the middle because (a) the rain was blowing in on the sides and (b) there was standing water on the seats of the tram! Then, the heavens opened up while I was standing in line to get my free pass. Then, I tried to upgrade my pass and finance the rest, and I wasn't able to do that because I didn't have anything that proved I was a SoCal resident (I thought my AP that I already had would be enough. It would have been enough to get a SoCal pass, but DL contracts with another company about the financing, and they require it.) But, magically, as I walked through the gates (Ethan went ahead of me to get Space fast passes), the rain magically stopped!

While we were waiting for the tram, I had called Tracey to see if they would mind two more on their Minnie breakfast. They (claimed....you never know!) that it would be great to have two more, and a perfect way to celebrate bday. So, we met up with the whole family at Minnies. We had a great time. Her youngest was totally into the characters, she even got a couple of pics of Ethan and I. The food was great, and the company was even better! And, we got (I'm assuming left over) Valentine pins (the kind for trading) at Minnies.
We then went with Tracey and her older son to go on a few rides (while her DH took the younger one on a couple of rides). We tried Peter Pan but the line was ridiculous. Then we went to Snow White, Small World (I love the new one! I think the characters give you a new experience, wondering if "such and such" character will be in such and such country!), and Space. Tracey and I then went to meet up with the extended family at Pixies, while the boys went on Buzz. The family was way far back in the Pixie line, so we said our good byes.
Ethan and I then wandered over, got hot chocolate and went on Pirates. Then we decided we were going to go on the monorail and head out (I had to be back in SD by 3:30, so we had to leave early). We got to the monorail right as it was leaving and got to sit in the pilot's car! Whoo hoo! And, Ethan had never been on the DL monorail.
I had a great time. Though, I must say, since the bday buttons are so prevalent this year, I didn't get nearly as many bday wishes from cast members. Almost none that were on the rides, only a few that were anywhere else. Oddly enough, it was CM's just walking from one place to another, like down main street, that I got the most comments from.
Oh, and yes, I did wear my tiarra!
