I'm so bored. Again. It's Friday night. I'm in Vegas. And yet here I sit, sipping hot cocoa and DISing. :surfweb: :sad2:

I guess I am the only one without a life. Everyone else seems to be busy.

I have no life either. After work we ran to Michael's and Costco and we just came home with pizza for dinner. And, I am sitting here stuffing my face with pizza and catching up on what y'all talked about today while I was on a staff retreat.

Tomorrow Dave is going to get the tattoo that he has been talking about getting for the past 8 years and then he is spending the night at the Trop as a mini vacation. So, Ty and I will be chillin' at home, doing some much needed cleaning and maybe running a couple errands. Not exactly the most glamorous weekend, but that's life in the burbs!

OH....CONGRATS TO BETH ON THE BIG 5-0 !!!
Thanks. :goodvibes 50 down. 50 more to go! :rotfl: But not while I'm on the trip either. All bets, or diets as the case may be, are off while at Disney.

We had Costco pizza too. :thumbsup2

So where is he getting the tattoo at? I want one. But I went to that Diversity tattoo parlor on the Strip and they wanted $200 for a tiny heart with barb wire around it. Uhhh, no thanks!
Is Dave spending the night at the Trop alone? Wait.....that sounds wrong. :rotfl: I don't mean is he spending the night with someone else. :rotfl2: I mean, are you going to join him for a little romantic evening? ;)

Speaking of errands, tomorrow my list is a long one. I'll be hitting Walmart, Vons, Albertsons, Smiths, Trader Joes, Claires, Lane Bryant, and uhhhh, hmmm, seems like there was one more but I can't remember at the moment.
I'm taking Noelle with me and we're going to take a break somewhere in there for lunch. She's thrilled. :rolleyes1

(not really, she hates shopping!)

He is getting the Mizzou tiger head (his alma mater logo) on his right bicep. I think the place is called Skin Factory--he did all sorts of research to find an artist with previous experience doing collegiate logos, and I think he's looking at the $125 range. I have a sun with a shamrock cut out of the middle of it that I got in New Orleans (I was sober at the time that I went under the needle, I swear!:rotfl: ), and I am shocked that he is finally brave enough to get his done!

Meanwhile, just Dave is going to the Trop tomorrow night. Ty hasn't been sleeping super well lately and between my travel last weekend and the girl's trip I have been encouraging him to get away. I think that eventually he will go visit some friends in Missouri, but tomorrow is just a quick getaway and hopefully a good night's sleep :rotfl2:

That's cool! You'll have to take a pic of it so we can see. Hope it's not too painful for him. I'm always afraid I'll stop them half way through, too scared to go on. :rotfl:

That's nice he's going to get away for the night. You're a good wife to let him get his sleep. :thumbsup2

My DD was 4 weeks early. She was 5 lbs 14 oz. She was so tiny. My doctor said if I had gone all the way to my due date, Maddie would have been pretty big.

I was 3 pounds 14 ounces. And I was full term.

Well, I am back from the "wilds" of Downtown LA. the meeting was not too contentious so it only lasted 2 1/2 hours--then another 1 hour forty minute drive back to the OC. I'm chillin, and going to bed real soon. don't even feel like watching t.v. (I could, however, if I had one, eat a Mickey bar.)

Anyway--I've had a few ladies indicate they would still want to order the headbands and such, so I will probably do the order tomorrow night. So please let me know if you want to chance it or not (if you haven't already done so.

thanks!

I took health class my junior year in HS and we were supposed to watch a movie on childbirth. I figured how bad could it be. I knew everything already. Easy way to pass the time. They started out showing the whole thing!! Complete with an episiotomy!!! :scared1: I felt sick to my stomach and asked to leave the room. I said I never, ever wanted kids. :scared:

Talk about being traumatized!!

:scared1:

The boys in Jordan's class were really excited for this class...until question & answer time...then all of a sudden...it was dead silent..:rotfl:

Thanks. :goodvibes 50 down. 50 more to go! :rotfl: But not while I'm on the trip either. All bets, or diets as the case may be, are off while at Disney.

Tattoo's on the strip are so expensive!!
I have 6...they are kind of addicting...:rolleyes1

So what's everyone doing tonight?
I am babysitting my cousin, crying screaming son until 10, and then I am going to a birthday party.

Evening all. Taking a break from watching my shows and thought I would check in.

Boy you guys think 6 lbers are big LOL I had a 9 lb 6 oz baby and an 8 lb 4 ozer.

I was 10 9 myself. My poor mother. She is only 5'2". And she had my naturally. I don't know how she did it. But back then they didn't induce people like they do now and she kept not going into labor. I was due the very end of april and was not born till June 3rd if that tells you anything. I was WAY late and the stupid doctor should have gotten malpractice. In fact he almost killed me getting me out. I had these HUGE bruises from the forceps he used it was ridiculous and my mom had like 200 stitches. It was ridiculous!

Luckily in MY day they figured it out and I was only a week late with Katy but she was still almost 10 lbs but they were smart enough to do a c section but she was still HUGE! So I opted for the scheduled C with Shelby. I had her at 39 weeks and she was still 8/4 but they said if I had gone late with her like I did with Katy she would have probalby been 10 lbs. EEK!

Anyway I worked for part of the day today and then rented a few movies. I rented that movie the changling which was good I thought but sad and then I rented an older one called the visitor which I also liked. It was about a guy who was a professor who had two people that had kind of illegally moved into his apartment but then he let them stay and he got to be friends with them and they were illegal immigrants. It was pretty good. And then I rented Body of Lies but am going to watch that tomorrow when Shane is home.

Then the girls and I just watch HSM3. LOVE those! Nothing planned for this weekend.

Can't believe their vacation is over already. That was a quick week! Back to the old routine again on Monday. Gotta run to Sam's club tomorrow to get groceries but otherwise just hangin out.

Talk to you all tomorrow. :)

My DD hates shopping too. I am not all that excited about shopping either. I do what needs to be done. But she loathes having to go shopping. Even if its for something she needs and wants.

Hi everyone.

I got a little ticked off yesterday because of something that happened to Ryan at school. (Ryan is my nine year old who falls somewhere on the spectrum. He's the sweetest boy, shy, quiet, no behavioral problems. His biggest hurdle is his language comprehension, and because of this, he seems very simple minded compared to his same age peers. I hate to say it, but a really good example would be Forrest Gump......Ryan is pretty much just like Forrest Gump.)

Anyway, Ryan has been telling us about some mean girls at school who tell him to shut up, or get away from them, or they hide his shoes, or whatever. I just figured most of it was typical kid stuff......mean girl stuff......because lets face it, girls can be mean. And Ryan is an easy target.

Yesterday he came home with a dollar. We asked him where he got the dollar, and he told us that one of the "nice" girls in his class gave it to him in the cafeteria......she told him that she would pay him a dollar if he would go away and sit somewhere else. He took the dollar, told her thank you (because he doesn't realize that she's being mean; he thinks she's being nice by giving him a dollar) and then moved down the bench away from her.

I just think that's so mean! It was shocking for me that a little girl in the third grade would do something like that......you don't like a kid because he's "dumb", so you pay him a dollar so he won't sit close to you in the cafeteria?!

His class has to sit together at the same table in the cafeteria. They can sit next to whoever they want to within their class, but they have to all stay together as a class. He can't move that far away for crying out loud! Poor guy.....he doesn't have any friends in his class because he's "slow", but unfortunately for his classmates, some unlucky soul is going to end up sitting next to him during lunch time.

I sent his teacher an email about it. I don't know what can be done, but jeesh, it still breaks my heart.:sad1: :sad2:

Capri....that makes me so sad. kids really suck sometimes.

Capri, my heart is breaking for you and Ryan. Kids can be sooo mean. I'll be curious to hear what the teacher's response is. My mother teaches the 3rd grade, I wonder what her reaction would be. Empathy is a trait that takes some longer to form than others. (I had some college professors who were still lacking it.) I know that many schools have lessons on bullying and empathy, I wonder if your son's school participates in anything like that?

Morning all! The speech therapist is coming for the 2nd time today. I think I will handle things better. I've been working with Nathan on some things she told me about, and I'm seeing progress. Personalities aside, if she helps my son talk and understand me, I'll be elated.

I'm excited about our headbands and tiaras.

Question to all of you DLR peeps. At WDW, there are many places to get mickey kitchen stuff. I'm slowly working on a Mickey Mouse kitchen (subtle though, not overdone.) I have a mickey paper towel holder and candle holder. I have dishes in a red and yellow color. I want to add some to my collection. Is there anywhere in the park that sells kitchen stuff?

Talk with you all later!

Heather

I don''t know the name of the store, but in DCA, when you enter and get to the place where it forks to the left to go towards Monsters Inc, there is a store on the left corner that you can enter from the main entrance side or the side street side..I know the side on the side street has a candy shop. Anyways, they had a bunch of kitchen stuff when we were there last. I wanted it all! They also had some really cure office stuff.

Well, I called this morning and it turns out that the Pacific Wharf Cafe will be closed. Boooooooo! :sad2:

So instead I was wondering if anyone was interested in catching the 2:35 Billy Hill Show? :confused3

We could have lunch while watching the show. I've always been sort of curious about the Chili in a Bread Bowl. It's supposed to be good. Or you can also go across to the Mexican restaurant or the Riverbelle Terrace and get something to go and bring it in. We've done that before with no problems.

Anyway, it was only a thought. If anyone who's there on Thursday afternoon and is not doing the Princess lunch is interested, let me know. :)

I LOVE the Billy Hill show. And the chili is good, IMO. I'd love to join. What day is this? I am so confused, and really need to put a schedule together.

Same here! UGH, I was so mad. I gave up and went to bed.

:scared1: Did I mention I'm a nervous passenger? I might need some Xanax or something before we take off. :rotfl:

Note to self: Bring sedatives for Beth.

How fun that the twins are coming too! Amy, any plans to bring any of your kids along too?

Well I certainly won't bring ALL of them. My younger ones can be quite high strung..lol. Maybe little Emma. We'll see. I actually won't know for sure if I can some until just before. I totally forgot this was my on call weekend. And the hospital is crazy right now. For some reason we admitted a ton of ICU pts and are out of beds. So it will depend on how busy it is. Hope I can join you.

I have to tell you guys this funny story.

This weekend I was with the twins in a public restroom and while I was washing my hands, Hannah had already finished and wandered over to the machine they have on the wall that sells the feminine products.

Anyway, she was reading it and then turned to me and said, "That's silly mom. Why would anyone buy a napkin when they have paper towels here for free?"

I just looked at her, totally not ready for that conversation, and said, "Ummm yeah, good point. Let's go."

:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

That is hilarious Beth. I am so not ready for those conversations with my kids. :rotfl:

Good morning!

I am heading out to get weighed in and then Maddie and I are heading to Michaels, Walgreens, and the mall.

My DD actually likes going out with her momma. I know that will change when she hits those pre-teen years.

Cheryl---you were just a teeny little thing.:cutie: 3 lbs! That is how much our chihuahua weighs.

Good morning ladies. Looks like everyone is busy today.... I'm off for a pedicure - gotta have nice tootsies when I travel :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone.:)

It's disney-super-dad's birthday today, so I'm having a little get-together this evening. I'm making his favorite, gumbo ya ya, for dinner! (Okay, I love it too.) The kids aren't really crazy about gumbo (it's too spicey for them - whimps! :goodvibes ) so I'm making them hotdogs and french fries. Also I'm making my famous italian salad. My MIL is bringing the cake. Our friend Cathy (she came on the ladies trip last year) and her son is coming over, and so is my SIL and our nieces and nephew. Should be a fun time.

I still don't know what I'm going to do about a tiara. :confused3

We have a moose that's been hanging out around our area for the last week. It's practically in our back yard right now, so I finally got a few pictures of it. When I get time, I'll try to post one.

Capri, I read that at a MOUSE in your backyard, and I was thinking, why would she post a pic of a mouse? It's not all that unusual. then I re-read your post. A MOOSE! How cool!

Oh, and gumbo sounds yummy! I've got to make some of that this week. Happy birthday to disney-superdad!

I am having the tiara problem also.

Capri it sounds like you guys are going to have a great time tonight.

I am going to go & get my hair done. Then a Mardi Gras party tonight.

UGH! I'm so mad! I did my iron-on transfer and it looked good, but a little too shiny. So in the directions, it said to iron over the transfer (on the shirt) with a piece of paper to remove the gloss. So I did it, EXACTLY like it said to. And now there's paper stuck on the picture and it WILL NOT come off. So I get to go buy another shirt (good thing it was only $6) and that was my last tranfer, so I have to go buy those as well. I know a couple of you said you were going to do yours, please post pictures!

well, I am ordering some of the Mickey headbands and would be happy to order the tiaras too--on the expedited basis--just am worried that if it doesn't get in here in time then you gals will be in a pickle!

let me know what you want me to do.
