Also, she picked him out of a line up.
As far as security goes, any american worth their weight knows that even a much older girl than 12 should not be riding in an elevator or doing anything else by themselves.
In fact, in Florida, several children have been kidnapped right out of their own beds, while their parents were at home.
The US is a very dangerous country. Very. Very very. You cannot be on your guard too much. Of course there are areas of the country that are relatively safer. Orlando isn't one of them.
by the way, according to the tv news last night, this guy has been arrested 6 times!!. For one of his offenses, he received only a 6 month suspended sentence!!......the police believe he's been doing this for years and years...
the American justice system leaves a great deal to be desired in terms of putting criminals behind bars...
after being in Orlando this time around I have to really wonder why so many Brits buy vacation houses here.....it's one of the ugliest places in America, and certainly far from safe....
You would have to wonder why the 12 year old was on her own in the first place

I don't think the US is any more dangerous than other countries that people visit on holiday. The main thing is to be aware of your surroundings and don't leave your common sense at home.
