Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

We haven't caught any new episodes of Ghost Adventures in awhile. Those guys are a hoot! I thought the one where Zak was screaming on the hill about the ground crawling with snakes and then, stupidly, picks one up :scared: was hysterical! We kept pausing and commenting then replaying him jumping away from the snakes! They act like they think they are cool, and then act like complete scaredy-cats on investigations. And they do have a suspicious amount of activity. But I watch every episode I can find!

We like Paranormal State and will be highly disappointed if it is cancelled. This week's episodes were not that great-the second house with the 'lady vampire' seemed like the mom was a drama hag. She would sob and bawl and actually shed no tears at all. That is how she appeared to me. But we loved last week's episodes.

And the new GHI with Joe Chin and minus the two most annoying of all hunters, are much much better now! I am enjoying the locations but we still laugh at how they get an EVP and have an unexplained experience (not necessarily paranormal) and the place is 'definitely haunted!' according to Rob. This week he was much better.

GH and GHI are on Sci-Fi all day~:thumbsup2

I caught a couple episodes this morning but seeing how we live in Steeler Country are TV is all Steelers all day! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You know I really did not doubt the evidence that GH got until the whole pull on coat thing. That really upset me. I defy Grant to say it really happened b/c it was way too blatent. IN watching some of the other shows this week I saw one on Dead Famous where the girl had a hood on similar to Grant and it slid down. She asked if ther hood jsut went down and they showed it again and it did slid could it have been pulled by an unseen force or could it have slid down on its own that was a question the audience was left to decide for itself. The whole look of it

was so different than the time this happened on GH there was no question that he had some sort of device pulling the hood down. I wonder too since the Dead Famous Show had Chris Williams as the photographer and it took place two to three years ago if she had anything to to with the whole pulling of the hood thing. The way I look at it what makes GH different than the other shows is what appeared to be their honesty once that is gone well I just do not know what to think.

I know para normal occurances do happen but I think if they go to a location and nothing happens even if it is Halloween then it is better for their reputation to be truthful. Stepping (slowly and gingerly) off my soapbox now!

I'm right there with you, Bella. I've not been able to really care about GH since the last live show. After being a fan for so long that whole ruse really upset me. I was watching some reruns today and thinking that maybe that's why there have been so many changes to the team over the years - maybe those who left simply couldn't deal with the hoaxes?

I also checked out some of the "fraud" videos on YouTube about GH. I wish I hadn't. :sad2:

I may watch GH in the future (but I also may not) but I will never be able to see it as even possibly "real" again....

I have had my own experiences has we have discussed earlier in the thread but I have really never SEEN what these people see. I have heard, felt, dreamed and my son got that one evp. They seem to get spirits running around everywhere. I have been to many haunted places too and got only the one photo at the St.Augustine Lighthouse. I know they have sensitive cameras etc and for that I am willing to believe but it just seems the evidence gets more and more large each week instead of the subtle stuff they used to get. You know we used to get kind of ticked at GHI b/c they found so little then last week the whole spectacular dark shape in the photo thing made me wonder if they are now faking it to up ratings. Thing is Jason and Grant did not have to fake it to up ratings they only hurt themselves.

This is big business to Grant and Jason they are buying a haunted inn in NH I think so people are going to want to believe them.

Did you see the Ghost Adventures where they had the brick thrown at them from all I could find no one could disprove that one. I really seem to like Ghost Adventures better than GH and I never thought I would say that.

I can say I don't like Ghost Adventures like I like GH. I watched one episode of GHI and Brian just made me angry. I'm so glad he's not on there anymore!

I agree with you. It's like he is trying to show off. But really he's making and idiot out of himself.

I have a Ghost story for ya.....adn every bit of it is true :scared:

When I was 20(I am 51) I lived in a old colonial house in Ocean Grove N.J. on the beach next to Asbury Park. Asbury was hopping back then. These were Hugh houses that were used as boarding houses. Well my BBF and I had a room on the 5th floor that we shared. Just a bed and a dresser and small closet and a light that had a pull chain above the bed but could also be turned on by the switch near the door.

We shared this floor of 10 rooms with other friends and there were only 2 bathrooms. But no big deal since we were all friends. The Kitchen was in the basement and each room had a refrigerator ...so lots of cabinets, fridges and stoves down there.

so to the story...

One night at about 12:30 am we were laying in bed and talking about our plans to hitch hike to California and when we wanted to go(by the way which we did less than 1 year later we left for the summer and returned but that is another story). We finished talking and turned out the light and said goodnight. When going to sleep I use to rock myself to sleep....drove my friend crazy.

Anyway she said to me Robin, stop rocking the bed...i said to her "I am not rocking the bed"...she said "Yes you are I can feel it so stop"....i said "Lori that's not me"...well than all of a sudden the bed started rocking and shaking up and down like the exorcist no kidding :scared: .....I yelled out if anyone is under the bed stop shaking it!!!!! all of a sudden the bed stopped

Freaking out I said to Lori.....Lori turn on the light....she said no way....there was a pull chain for the light right above us in bed so all she had to do was stand up a little on the bed to reach it....she still said no.

so I made a deal with her....I told her if she turned on the light I would look under the bed....she agreed and turned on the light. This was all happening with in minutes of the bed shaking for about what seemed forever....:faint:

So with the light on I jumped across the room as far as I could...which is not to far since the room is so small.....I looked under the bed and low and behold there was nothing under there....nothing :confused3

We went to sleep with the light on all night and neither of us slept very well. The next morning I went and talked to the owner....by the way this house was built back in the late 1800's as many of the old colonials were in this town.

It turned out that there was a man that boarded in that room for 10 years and passed away about 4 months prior to us getting that room and all of our friends moving up there. They would not have given that floor to all of us she said because beds were found with all the stuff off of them and dresser draws opening up and so on ....but they did because it was the only floors that could accommodate all of us and we wanted to all be kept together.

She said that she did not thing it was haunted but that someone was up there fulling around and for saftey reasons kept the floor empty.....

We stayed up there and never again did anything happen....but it is my Ghost story and my kids still get a kick out of it.....we were watching this marathon tonight and the story came up in our home again.....

I have no dought that it was the Ghost of this man....there is no other explination......no one was under ther pushing the bed up and down like that....and there would have had to be at least 2 or more men to shake it like that.....I mean the bed was off the floor.....spooky

Oh, I don't take Ghost Adventures seriously. It's just entertainment and silly, creepy fun.

As for GH's Grant, I still don't know what to think. Grant and Jason have been doing the ghosthunting thing for many, many years. They built TAPS and made a name for themselves in the paranormal research community. Why would Grant fake something like that and possibly damage their reputation? Love 'em but I could see the Ghost Adventures guys or definitely the Most Haunted people doing this but it just doesn't feel right that TAPS did it.

As for people leaving, only Brian actually has on a less pleasant note out of the main people and he was nothing but drama. Donna did too but only because she got ill from what I understand.

I still watch and still think a lot of what we see is real.

Now for the live show :confused3 I still can 't figure out HOW he did it unless the wire was running down into his pants somehow. I do think it was exaggerated a lot...feel a tug and do a big act about how it pulled you back sort of thing. I just don't know. I can't imagine them ruining their reputation by pulling such a stunt, but also think SCi-Fi might have put them up to it because it makes for better ratings. :confused3 That said, I watch GH and will continue to watch, I also watch GHI and I am enjoying it more with this years cast.

Ghost Adventurers? I think they are funny (dude) and I can't take them serious at all. But I'll watch them if nothing else if on. Paranormal State bores me most times for some reason, they go on good cases but it is so dry.

It's interesting but both Grant and Jason commented that SciFi would be very upset with them if they tried to fake something. If true, wouldn't the SciFi camera guys be well aware of something like that? Wouldn't they notice Grant tugging on something and people throwing things and all of the rest that people have made accusations about?

I don't know. I try to keep an open mind about ghosts so I guess that I'll keep an open mind about ghosthunters too. Even Zak and his friends. :lmao:

Me too. Nothing has happened that has changed the way I feel about the show. There are way too many episodes where things happen that just can't be explained away.

Yeah! Thanks GotDisney! Been a long time since we had a fresh story! :cool1:

Just watched last weeks episode of Ghost Hunters. Loved the fact that they were in my state of NH. I was so hoping they would get alot of evidence but it was for not.

Haven't watched last nights episode but hope to over the weekend.

I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I love Ghost Hunters!

I'm another used to be avid watcher that changed their way. I believe the coat thing was a farce, I've seen all the youtube videos and it's obvious what's going on. It was also ridiculous to see how staged they were in that link posted in this thread. The camera people should be there documenting but instead it seemed like they were telling them where to stand and what to say. I also liked how they were playing games in the barn even though Jay said it was a hot spot.

That coupled with the new reveals has me going over to paranormal state and ghost adventures, at least you know what your getting. Jay says he never likes to say a place is haunted, yet he says it every week now. He also never liked to read into evp's but every time he's like "I think it says....", meanwhile it sounds like static background conversation. I might watch again this Halloween to see if they vindicated themselves, but if an ECW wrestler is there, no mas.

I thought I was the only one that lost the love for them. I really thought they were the real deal.

I've been watching Paranormal State, but even that's starting to wear thin. Apparently now "Six" is following Ryan? :confused3
