Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I'm not sure if you've ever heard of a place named Caasadaga, FL. It's on I-4 as you're leaving Orlando going to Daytona. Well, it's a spiritual/psychic community. Growing up I always heard kids talking about going up there and sitting on satans thrown, there were crazy stories. One night some friends and I snuck out and went there w/ an Ouija board and some candles. We were stupid teens but wanted to see what all the hype was about. We get down there and couldn't find the cemetery, kept doing circles then stopped on a road trying to figure it out. It was right beside us. We got out walked around and the next thing we knew, a police officer drove by and asked us what we were doing there BUSTED! He let us go w/ a warning. We ended up going to Daytona and skipping school that day.

Never mind the recruit more participants for this thread thing....I just read the "When you die ...." thread it is getting pretty heated and I do not think that most of those people fighting over there would be any fun on this thread!
:rotfl:

No! Only fun people  . I find it amazing that folks can get into arguments about the afterlife. I think it's the one unknown that everyone has a different belief about. And none of us really know for an absolute fact. I like hearing everyone's thoughts - I just don't know how you can get upset at an opposing viewpoint. :confused3

I haven't read the thread. Maybe I'll go take a peek...:tiptoe:

I agree with you! There are some people over there who are condescending and others who are narrow minded. Good thing we are open minded and enlightened.

Well scary movies do not scare me (except for the Exorcist) unless they are based on a true story. The stuff I read on this thread scares me b/c it is usally a first hand account. When you look at the number of views on this thread(not the posts) you realize that in such a short time over 12,000 people have read this thread then you KNOW that there are tons of people out there who at least are open to what we talk about.

Paranormal movies don't scare me too much...as far as I know noones been killed by a spirit (except DH told me about a movie based on a true story, An American Haunting, I think that's it. It's about the Bell witch or something, is the only time someone's ever died from a spirit).

The one's that scare me are the serial killer or crazy people movies - there are really sick and deranged people killing folks that way. Those movies scare me because stuff like that can really happen.

Did anyone see the movie Room 1409? DH says I should watch it, but I can't see anything bad happen to children and I thought this movie had something like that happen. :confused3

OKay I am going to research this on the net. It is not that far from Orlando. Is it before or after St. Auguistine when you are leaving Orlando. Goiong to St. Augustine for a day in August and I just might have to see about this town I had seen on a couple of news and travel shows. They have some sort of psychic convention or something don't they?

Yes serial killers really do scare me.... I guess it is b/c some of them are so ordinary looking. I mean if some guy walks down the street looking like Charles Manson you are going to go to the other side of the road BUT if he looks like an ordinary guy your guard might be down. THAT is scary. Silence of the the Lambs scary!

DH and I saw the movie Seven when we were engaged. As we're walking out, I'm thinking to myself that that was the worst most disturbing movie I'd ever seen. As I'm thinking this, DH says to me that it's the best movie ever. I seriously considered whether I could marry someone who thought that. :rotfl2: We still joke about that today.

Yep! It's a beautiful little town and the people are very nice. I've had 2 readings done there. Both people were pretty accurate. It's at the half way point between Orlando and Daytona. If you get a chance, you should go there the next time you're in Orlando. There is a book store as well and shops.

Hey Bella, if you visit - you'll have to tell us about it. Oh, and BTW, don't buy any Ouiji boards!

my*jck*luv, I can't believe you wanted to play with one in a cemetary in that town.

Hey Breezy as you know there is NO WAY I would touch a Ouija Board. I looked up the site but you know it looked a little cultish to me. Pretty much everyone was a Reverend. Check it out.

That's the sad part about it, it use to be a quiet little town but I was looking at the sight and it seems as if it's "turning". I stay away from organized religion because it seems like it's all for profit and control.

Wow you took the words out of my mouth. Sometimes I feel that people who adhere to strick dotrine are prevented from opening up to the possiblities. Jesus said, "My father's house has many mansions." I think that means that there are many ways to spiritual enlightenment. While I know the Da Vinci code is fiction I truly believe that the church has surpressed anything that would damage the support of organized religion. My contention has always been you do not need to go to church to worship or pray if you are so inclined. I do not need another mortal (ie priest) to interceed for me I will go right to the top my self thank you very much!

Wow, I missed a lot this evening! I just found out we're having visitors on the 4th so I was doing some running around before the work week starts.

Oh yeah, then I double-dog dare you to watch Witchboard:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090327/

:rotfl2: :rotfl:

I used to love scary movies, I can't handle them anymore. I remember watching this movie back when it first came out. It was only a couple of years after the girls at school had their incident with the ouiji board.

:wave2: HI my*jck*luv and SharpMomOfTwo, great stories!

That's how I feel, I just don't get it. New religions are popping up all the time, even christianity is fairly new compared to others. I think I read Hinduism was the oldest recorded religion, people just take what they want and then make up their own. I don't need the fear of God put in me to be a good person.

I believe there is something greater than all of us, just don't know what. I'm living my life to the best of my ability, being kind to others, loving my family and being thankful for what I have...my life, health and loved ones.

Gotta tell you any movie with Twany Kitaen and Rose Marie....sorry it cannot be that scary.

That would be like watching the Bay Watch gang remake of Silence of the Lambs....I mean Pam Anderson playing the Jodi Foster and one of the blond beach boys as Hannibal Lecter...lol. By the way speaking of Bay Watch I just happend to see it for the first time the other night on some oldies channel. NOW that was scary since it passed for entertainment AND had viewers all over the world. Hey maybe I will try and watch an episode of that tonight for laughs. Really it was hysterical especailly the wah , wah music in the background when someone made some sort of a faux pas. Sorry I am way OT!!

I was 17 when I saw it, it was pretty scarey back then. I just remember the board moving on it's own and that creeped me out. :scared:

Here's the trailer for the movie ;) :

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Ward, what the heck! Ok, what sitcoms are on tonight...and was that thing going in a figure 8? That's the same thing that it did with us. Ok, I'm pretty freaked out. If ***** comes back, I'm sending her to your house ward :rotfl2: .
