But here again, if it is not a TRUE story then it is not scary for me. I could watch that and not be afriad b/c 9 times out of 10 I usually watch the additional features first.


Wait I do know one that I found scary. It was the one with the guy that used to come back like every 25 years and eat people. While I know it was not something that would happen it was very scary. I wish I could remember the name. The movie starts out with the monster in a field looking like a scarcrow and he eats the child(off screen). Anyone know which one I am talking about? I cannot remember the name.

What about the movie Room 1409 with John Cussack - has anyone seen that one? DH want's me to watch it, but I wasn't sure.

I seen it....As far as a thriller it was ok.....There are some parts that made me jump.

I'm waiting too -My DH isn't home yet, but its OK, I read all of the 45+ pages of this thread by myself yesterday, and I came out unscaved.... though when I had to go into DD21m's room last night, I RAN!!! Scared the crap outa DH when I lept into the bed!!! Almost crushed him!!!

You guys crack me up! The sad part is, I'm the same way. My mean brother and sister scared me something fierce in our basement when I was 5. To this day I still run up the stairs like a little kid, somehow I think the big bad goblin is going to grab me and drag me back down.

OH! I have a story it happend to my best friend. Her dad was sick and both he and her mom lived in Fla. Suddenly, her mom was rushed to the hospital (I honestly do not remember what the illness was but it was life threatening). They did not know if she was going to live or die. My friend and all her brothers and sisters were in the room around her mom's bed but mom was out of it. ONe more brother was on his way to the hospital. He rushed down the hall b/c he knew the end was near. Just as he neared his mom's room this girl in a candy stripe-r uniform with long brown hair left the room turned and smiled at him over her shoulder and continued down the hall. When he entered the room his mom died pretty much within a few seconds. After it was over and they were talking he said to his brothers and sisters why was a candy striper in this room. I would not think they would let a young girl in the room of someone who was not going to make it. The WHOLE family looked at him like he was crazy and my friend asked him what the heck he was talking about. My freind said, they do not even HAVE candy stripers anymore much less those that wear pink and white strped unifoms!

Turns out his mom used to be a candy striper when she was younger. She also had long dark and was kind of flirty (not the right word but I cannot think of what the right one would be).
YOu need to know my friend, she is conservative and so serious it is not funny! She never told me the story even though it had happend about 8 years before my dad died. She did not tell me till I told her my story and said she just felt people would not belive her. I think she waited to leave till the last child came and pretty much said good by as she left. They say your sprit leaves the body a little while before it ceases to function. I

Wow Bella, I've got mixed emotions with that one. It was sad for the son because he didn't know it was his mom, yet nice for her that she got to see him one last time on earth.

I do not have anymore from myself but I will now go into things that happened to my friends.

Another best friend learned a few days after New Years that her dad had stage 4 cancer of the lungs. On Jan 13 she went to the hospital with him for his first chemo treatment. They happened to be in the hall and a priest came up to them and out of the clear blue asked her dad if he wanted to say confession. Her dad had not been to church in years but he said yes he would. The priest heard confession and gave him the last rights. Keep in mind this guy was ambulatory and really did not look all that sick. It was even odd that he went up to the dad when my friend and her mother were there and he knew none of them.

That next morning her dad must have had the tumor break up and he began to suffocate. He put on his best shirt and went to sit in his best chair. When his wife saw it she got hystrical and began calling 911. He kept waving her to stop and when the para medics got there he was in caridac arrest. He died on his way to the hospital. This was NOT expected at all! After her dad died her brothers were all upset b/c he did not have the last rights. My friend told them that he had. The thing was they had and to this day have no idea who the priest was and neither did the hospital personell! They called the priest who was assigned to the hospital and it was not him.

You know, the type of movies that really scare me are the ones w/ the living dead. I have no idea why but sometimes I have nightmares about them.

I'm still trying to catch up on this thread. Some really great stories.

Have any of you ever read the haunted stories in your area and tried to go to the places? I've read a few places out here w/ hauntings but I cant find anyone to go w/ me.

When I lived in Orlando, we heard of a place called Sunnydale or Sunnyvale or something w/ sunny in it. It was an abandoned mental hospital and we heard stories of people going in there and seeing things move, voices and that feeling someone was there. I never went because I was a chicken, there were no trespassing signs and cops would patrol. There's a place like that here and a group of investigators went in and posted pics and told what they experienced.

Have any of you ever read the haunted stories in your area and tried to go to the places? I've read a few places out here w/ hauntings but I cant find anyone to go w/ me.

and grew up just a couple of miles from it.
My dad and I used to walk a nature trail that went right by the church.
It always had a strange feeling to it. I've heard the Satan worship stories, but I don't think I heared them until the incident in 1990. I don't believe I've been out there since the eqarly 80's when the woods the trail was in were cut down to to build houses.

ETA: A friend goes to haunted places and old cemetaries. I'll check and see if I can share the link to her photos. She has shots of Hell's Church and several other haunted sites in GA. Recently I expresed an interested in going with her, but she's had too much going on lately.

Same friend from above. Her mom was devistated w/out her husband. They had been together since she was 13. He was an EXTRMELY organized man and an accountant. He had a place for everything and everything was in its place. When he died the mother wanted to find a record he had made for her when he was in the army. They looked high and low for it but to no avail. This was odd b/c he had a collection of records which he stored in alpah order and put in a file cabinent. He could put his hands on anything he needed I need to really stress this for the story to have any impact.

Anyway a day before Easter they found the record. My friend told her mom ot come to her house and listen to it since not many people still had record players and my friend had an old one from when her kids were little.

Another part of the set up was that my friend had purchased the house next to her for her mom to live in so she would not be so lonely. When the mom was young she did not have a very nice homelife and they always said her dad 'rescued her" so to speak.

So they put on the record from like 50 yrs before and it starts with , '

Well xxxx this is quite sad to be so far from you right before Easter. I know you are unhappy where you are living but I am working on getting you a house that you will be happy in. There was more but I do not remember it all. The point is it pertained to 50 yrs earlier BUT it also pertained to the present time. The ironic part is that they looked over and over for the record and only on the last time did they find it in a place they had looked numorous times before.

Quite a coincidence if you ask me but then I believe there are not coincidences.

This really isn't scary, just weird. My husband and I went to a friends house and he had a friend over who brought the Oiuja board so we played w/ it. My friend asked it questions like what was his other friend going to be doing the next day, it said "sun", she said she was planning on laying out. Then I asked if dh and I were going to have kids, it said "boy" then I asked when it said April 18. I asked it what I was planning to do the next day and it said "me". At that point I knew my friend was moving it, starnge thing, ds was born on April 18th.

Also recently I met a teenager that works with a paranormal group about 30 miles from here. I will have to try to find their info. The only thing I remember is that North East is in the name. Must be NE metro something, because I don't think they were far enough east to be considered NE GA.

Did I post about our recent experience in Savannah? Which reminds me I still need to email the tour guide for a copy of a pic of DD with orbs in an arc around her head.

We were on a ghost tour with the girl scout troop.
Nothing eventful until we were at the end of the tour, just a couple of houses down from the Juliet Gordon Low home. the house had belonged to her uncle and has been empty for decades.

The guide told us a story about a tour guide from just a few yrs ago.
Prior to this there were no documented happenings at this house, but that it always has an uneasy feel to it.
Someone was taking the tour guide's picture with a digital camera while she was rapping up the tour. There was a clear image in one of the pics of a "shadow man" standing behind her on the steps. She took one look at the pciture, looked at the group and said "I don't know about you guys but I am leaving". She ran down the road and never came back to work.

DD went and stood in the spot where the shadow appeared and got a really weird feeling.
Well to back up a bit, for those who don't know, I'm wiccan. I've dabbled in various things swuch as Tarot, Scrying etc. When DD was about 5 she picked up a pendulum at a friends house and started scrying without ever seeing it done.

anyway back to the story.
DD said she felt like someone was trying to talk to her. I mentioned that it was too bad she didn't have a pendulum with her. We decided to give it a try with a water bottle on a strap.
The guide started snapping away pics while DD was scrying. I heard him gasp and we ran down to see what he got. There was a pic with a perfect arc of orbs around her head/upper body.
She never did scry anymore, it was running late and he had to get back to meet up with his next group.
