Does anyone know if you get wet on the Sea Raycers? I know that you are in control of the boat but on another thread they talked about some boats taking on water. I just wasn't sure about it. Thank you!!

:lmao:

If you rent a SeaRaycer, you will be in a small boat on the water - plan on getting wet. If you don't get wet, you will be one of a limited few.

If you expect to stay completely dry, see a profesional about delusions.

I've been on these twice and have never gotten wet. Not sure how I've been so lucky. :confused3

We got really wet one time out of 3. It was a cloudy day and the rains had just stopped. There were actually white caps (waves) in the Lagoon. I should've known better!
Plus we were two adults in the boat so we were sitting a bit lower in the water. One wave came up so high that it drenched me and even got into my purse soaking my cell phone!
Later that same say though all was calm on the Lagoon so I doubt anyone got soaked.

I went out on the Sea Raycers three times last trip and never got wet. One of the three times, I was out with my mother (I was driving) and deliberately tried to ride other boat's waves which caused us to get sprayed a bit. My mother wasn't happy with me - kept yelling at me to stop it. :confused3

But, other than being sprayed a couple of times (see above), I stayed completely dry. The other two times out in the Sea Raycers I was solo - so, not having the boat severely weighted down may have helped to keep me dry. Oh, and rent from the Poly - they're reported to be the fastest boats. I rented from the Poly twice and the Yacht Club once. Trust me - huge difference in speed between the Poly boats and the Yacht Club boats.

Oh, and Endeavour – are you a professional? I may need to talk to you about “delusions”. :lmao: I expected to stay dry and did!

I have gotten wet a few times. It depends on a lot of factors :weight, speed, how windy it is, how choppy the water is , and if there is a drought and the water levels are up or down..Plan on getting wet, and don't bring anything that would be ruined.

Oh, oops. Is he there as well? Those pic's are from several years ago and I was trying to take them A) right before Wishes B) in the rain so between the crowds with their ponchos on, I must have missed him.

I wouldn't say you get wet as in Splash Mountain wet or Kali River wet but it is more like a water spray wet. If you rent them at OKW and just go up the river you are going so slow that it would be hard to get wet. If you rent them at CR or WL you can go a little faster but still it is more just like a spray/misting type of wet.

Yes, I have a pewter about 1/2 size replica of the Brer Rabbit statue in my office. Here is a picture of the one at WDW:

DH and I were in the same boat and all was going well until a boat going fast in the other direction went by (Sassagoula River--we rented at POR). The wake went up the bow of the boat to inside our compartment and we got wet. We also got wet when we rented at Contemporary. It was always another boat going by in the other direction that caused it. Just take a change of clothes and you won't have any problems.

I've gotten wet a little at times in the Searacers. Basically, it takes a bit of speed and hitting a wave just right for the water to make its way to you. Otherwise, if you're cruising along normally then you dont get wet. Plus, the wind is enough that it dries right away...

Thank you to all for your help!! It seems mixed as far as you will or won't get wet. I just didn't want to be soaked. We actually use to have a Baja so I am familiar with boats but the sea raycers just seemed to sit so low in the water. But anyways Thanks!!

? about sea racyers. i read online somewhere before, but can't find it now that there was a weight limit. anyone know what that is and how they enforce it? DH & I want to ride together but I dont know if we would be under the limit. the last thing I want to do at WDW is hope on a scale out in public! :headache:

Well there is no scale to hop on, so no worries there;) But there is a weight limit, but I dont really recall what it is. FWIW, My wife and I are about 310lbs between the two of us, and we always go together with no problem...
