Getting Ready for our July Trips to the World

Cleaning house burns calories! Found out that one hour of vigorus cleaning burns over 300 cals! So yeah I'm scrubbing floors again today!

You and me both Grey! I was doing soo good yesterday until I had a piece of lemon meriange pie :(

Iachived 30 minutes on the treadmill today! Although it wasnt at a constant 4mph like I wanted grrr. I can work my way up there though I know it! Friday is Spin class for me and next Monday WATER AEROBICS!

Unfortunately, my cleaning was not too vigorous - I was cleaning the den, tons of paperwork and organinzing. I did climb up in the attic once to look for a storage bin. Also listened to Sorceror Radio on the internet while I was doing it! "All Disney Music All the Time"!!!

I went to the gym and did my routine. Did better with food yesterday and am trying to do the same today.

Nice job!! You should really try doing your strength training before cardio. Start with a 5-10 minute warm-up on the treadmill or something, then do weight training and then cardio.

I

Household chores and gardening does count.

Great job!!!!

I was told I had to have 129g of protein and I can't do it. I'm trying my best but just can't get enough in.

Last night I had my first session with the trainer and he put me through the wringer. I'm so sore today. Looking forward to be tortured again next week.

I just read that about doing the strengthening first and have started doing it that way too. I think going to a trainer could be really helpful! I guess if you are sore it is a good thing!!! Do you know how to calculate how much protein you should have? Just curious......

I'm LUCKY I got over 100g of protein yesterday lol:rotfl2: I'm thinking I should buy some protein shakes/bars to have as a snack and have my veggies and fruits with my meals instead of as a snack.

I dont remember the site I found it on lol. I think it was bodybuilding.com or something along those lines. I believe I googled "Protein intake needed to loose weight" or something like that. Went back to the pool with a friend of mine and our 2 kiddo's and was there for an hour in the water, she and I running in place trying to get our kids to kick. It was soo not happening for them. According to MFP I burned 500cals just "leisurely simming" Still doing good after lunch. Am up to 47g of protein so far (204 to go lol) but thinking I'm going to have shrimp and fish for dinner while the kiddo's have TV dinners or frozen pizza.

Mmmm lemon meringue pie *LOL* ... WTG on the treadmill!!!! That is AWESOME!

Unfortunately I can't do weights first ... spin is at 8:45am and daycare does not open until 8:30, so I don't have time to warm up, lift and still make it to spin ...

Awesome with the trainer! It hurts but it is a GOOD hurt ;)

I'm begining to have a love hate rlaionship with the treadmill (and my keyboard...letters are NOT showing after I type them grrr). I hate to get on it but love the way it makes me feel afterwards lol.

I think tomarrow I'm goint to do my weights first then switch it up and do the dreaded stair climber...I'll be lucky to get 10 minutes on that sucker. I really wish the post gym had treadclimber...just get rid of the treadmills and elipticals and stairmasters and have tons of those in there!

I will second you on the love hate relationship thing!! I feel that way about the gym in general!

Last night I did Insanity Core Cardio and Balance. It was a killer workout.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a little under 1gram of protein for each pound you weigh

Nice job of getting over 100 grams in. If you get protein bars/shakes just check the ingredients because of a lot of them have a lot of added sugar.

Wow, 1 gram per pound would be a lot for me. It is so frustrating - those protein bars also have a lot of calories......

had a great workout! spin class, then weights and then 20 minutes on treadmill (can it be that I am starting to LIKE the treadmill?!?)

Eating is under control today! Went to Publix and got some fruit and some lunch meat ... I have been making 'sandwiches' using lettuce as the bread ... saves on the carbs and still yummy!

Heading to swim lesson for my son and then planning to make tacos tonight for dinner. Wish I had bought an avocado :( I forgot.

No gym for me today :( Baby girl woke up with a temperature and coughing so I stayed home this morning. I'm going to continue to clean today though, I'm behind on my laundry and my kiddo's have magically found other dirty clothes in their rooms :headache: I'm also going to re-wash my floors today. Turned on Sorcerer Raidio just a minute ago...I've got that Disney buzz running in my veins! Although it's hard to clean to "Wishes" it's not fast paced enough for me lol:rotfl:

I am deffinately going to be looking into the ingredients of any protien bars/shakes I might buy. I just need something to give me an extra "oomph" that I need to cap out that protien. Got in all my water last night and will hopefully be doing it again today. I'm going to go and make some lunch for me and YD now. I see soup in her future.

Good job on the great workout and getting the eating under control!!

Hope your daughter feels better soon. Cleaning burns calories too!

Happy THURSDAY guys!

So apparently Gillian has REALLY bad allergies going on (but I can't get her to take her Singular and fight with her for her nasonex grrr). She didnt' have a temperature after all. Meghan felt the same to me and she felt fine. Apparently I'm keeping it to hot in my house:confused3. So today it's back to the gym for me (after I get some kind of allergy medicine in my little girl) and I am SERIOUSLY going to work my bum off! I weighed myself yesterday morning and was down to 208! I wanted to SCREAM!

After watching Dr.Oz on my DVR yesterday I've decided to take some of his advice as well. I'm going au natural with my supliments (minus my centrum and fish oil though) and buying some Kelp tablets (apparently they eat fat!) On the upside I'm already doing something to help get rid of fat and cellulite and that's drinking A LOT of water!

Although I'm feeling tired (didnt get to sleep till after midnight because I forgot to fold some clothes on my bed :headache:) I'm feeling reved up and ready to go! Hope everyone has a GREAT Thursday!

I remembered what the trainer told me about protein. You need 1.5 grams for each pound of lean body mass. To make this easy for me to calculate,, if you had 50lbs of lean body mass, then you would need 75g of protein.

Last night's workout was a joke. I went out for a run and ran for about 10 minutes before it felt like my left leg was going to give out. I walked some and then started running again and after only 5 minutes the same thing happened. Not sure how much I actually ran last night, but I have a 3.5 mile race in less than 2 weeks to get ready for.

Not been brilliant with my exercise but have done two spin classes this week and was out on mountain bike trails for a couple of hours on Thursday last week. Hoping to get out on the trails tomorrow too and have Body Pump booked for Sunday morning. Not been too bad foodwise though could try harder! :lmao:

Well done everyone!

I think the work out Gods are NOT working with me! I went to the gym today, all ready and raring to go and get my sweat on when this lady who I JUST saw go in while I was getting into the parking lot came out and told me that hourly care there was closed due to a Unit Org day! So instead I went to a friends house and helped her clean then we came here and finished off my floors. 2 horus of light to moderate activity and I dont feel like I did a thing...yet another joke day!

*get's down on hands and knees* PLEASE HOURLY CARE BE OPEN TOMARROW AND YES I WILL BE USING MY FULL 2 HOURS FOR BOTH SPIN CLASS AND FOR RUNNING!

Food today was a joke as well, made a frozen pizza for dd for lunch and had a few slices of it...should have skipped that but all my produce is gone AGAIN grrrr.

Spin classes can burn up to 1k in calories Mo! AWESOME job!

I need inspiration! My eating has been pretty good this week but my workouts have been kind of half-hearted. Today I told myself I would do 15 minutes on the elliptical and then see how I felt. Usually, once I hit 15 I'm in my groove. I quit after 12 minutes and 20 seconds. Then after 3 (THREE!!) crunches I found myself laying on the mats watching a stinkbug walk across the ceiling of my garage for who knows how long before giving up altogether. I am so lame!! And I'm married to the devil who at this very moment is eating a croissant with Nutella/whipped cream smeared on it!

Thanks for the protien info - wow, if it weren't so many calories I should probably be eating an entire cow!

I am impressed you can run 5 minutes! Seriously, hope you are ok - that is frustrating. I have been having pain in my right ankle and it is impacting how fast I can get the treadmill up. Hope you get back to normal soon!

great zumba workout but my eating .... ughhhhhh :(

But GOOD JOB on the zumba!!!

Ok, one bad day allowed - you will do better tomorrow!!!!

We need to get you and Gray together on this - she is exercising well and you are eating well! I think everyone has days when the exercise just does not work out (no pun intended). Some days I feel like Rocky Balboa at the gym and other days I just can't get going. I think the key is to not give up.

However, it does not help hearing about your DH's snack - yum!

I went to the mall today, I was going to take the day off because of my ankle and I needed to look for something to wear this weekend to a function I am going to. No luck with clothes - too depressing. I did find a potential pair of sandals for Disney though at Kohls. Basically skipped lunch cause I was shopping but did have some light cheese and crackers when I got home then had a decent dinner. Luckily, DS wanted to go to the gym, so I did end up working out - got 30 minutes on the treadmill and some strengthening/weights in. Tomorrow is an off day - DD has an eye doctor appointment and we are doing a college visit in the afternoon.

Last night the plan was to hit the gym and work on legs, but since my leg is still bothering me I just took the dog for a 45 minute walk and completely exhausted him.

Great job with the eating part, that has always been my downfall. I think the key to working out is finding something you love doing. Once you find that something, working out does not seem like a chore.

I hope I'm OK too, I have this funny feeling and a voice in my head saying that I have a stress fracture. I hope I am wrong

great zumba workout but my eating .... ughhhhhh :(

I have never tried Zumba, but I know many people that love it and swear by it. It just seem like something I would like. I may have to check out a class to see for myself.

That seems brilliant to me. That is some intense stuff you are doing

zumba is fun! I take the beginners class and she really takes the time to show the moves and show modifications if need be. I have taken from a few other instructors, but the regular classes very rarely take the time to show the steps ... which for most people is fine, but I still need to see it all first and also have some options if what they are doing is too much.
I usually burn between 500-700- calories each class though :) And I have definitely seen improvement in what I can do since I started it!
