Not a problem at all. Any condiments (e.g. mustard or mayo) on the sandwich are fine, but if you bring it on the side, it has to confirm to the normal 3-1-1 liquid rules.
My bag got checked for oodles of sand my kids needed to bring home from the south west coat of FL. They didn't care about our sandwiches or my sons chicken legs.
On my last visit to New Mexico to visit In Laws, I stopped at my favorite burrito place and bought 25 of them to bring home for friends and family. Stuffed them all in my carry on that I brought specifically for this purpose and went through security no problems. Even got some good laughs about it.

Always good to bring local goodies to people who have left the area but still crave the local cuisine. TSA allows food as long as it conforms to the limitations on liquids. Just be sure not to eat foods with strong or offensive odors on the flight. Flight attendants frown on this practice.
