Geriatric MM Warriors!

Kathy: That film of Tyson on FB is hysterical. My husband had a childhood terrier that had booties for when they went camping so the pine sap didn’t stick her pads together. She got used to them! It was nearly 80 here today and we won’t have frost for a very long time so we can plant lots of flowers. I love ornamental kale and cabbage this time of year, too.:flower3:

When I was little I got a record player for Christmas with a 45 of Little Drummer Boy. I played it about 30 times a day, including in the summer. My parents must have been very tolerant – or wait, is that why my bedroom was in the attic??:rotfl:

Cindy: I had so much fun looking at the pumpkins your kids carved – so amazing!:cutie:

Nell: You are quite the cook these days. We had cold salads and fruit. Another hot tub for the aching feet. I painted and cleaned in all my spare time for several days. We really should go for a drive tomorrow and relax.

I love seeing all the cute little kids come around the neighborhood and watching them grow year-by-year. I have to say, editorially, that there isn’t the slightest bit of evil in a little kid pretending to be something else for one night. They know the difference better than we give them credit for I think. My favorite year was when my son and his best friend from across the street went as crash dummies. They had identical costumes and if you knew those two, you would know it was a perfect fit – they were always crashing into something!:drive:

Have a really great sleep, Carol, Pam and all the night owls
:goodvibes

OK, I am going to hit the hay, too tired to stay up, no Ken until tomorrow morning...forgot to tell you he sent me an e-mail with the poem "Sonnet for a Queen" by Trent Lorcher...awwwwwwwww, WAY MUSHY!!!!:lovestruc

Help me out here ladies, I need some new ideas for my Tilapia I have to cook tomorrow...and something to do with ground turkey....

Will post the Wedding Soup recipe in the morning too...shucks, I forgot while I was hanging out all day twiddling my thumbs!

See Ya in the AM!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Tilapia makes great fish tacos! I like it with spicy cole slaw, but you'll have to think up something else cause you don't like cole slaw! Ground turkey makes great tacos! Did I say that already?? Stuffed peppers with ground turkey. I have a Meditteranean recipe that uses no tomato if you want it. Hmmm, I put barley in it. What else could you do on Step 1? Jocelyn? Have any ideas??

Tyson looked so funny with his boots. I have had the same reactions with my dogs. I haven't gotten any of them used to them though.

I'm very tired. My moving one piece of furniture resulted in moving the entire living room. I need to get in bed. Good night everyone!:grouphug:

Chopped up cauliflower or broccoli??? or zucchini??? or Shritaki Noodles, but they have to simmer in a sauce for a bit to get any flavor.

I'm not ignoring all of you - been out of the house the last 2 days and busy in the evenings so am behind on my posts and reading.

I didn't get the pictures of the pumpkins. I thought I was on the list of e-mail addresses from the card list.

A friend puts wasabi mayonnaise on his fish and macadamia nuts and then bakes it in the oven. We us opah, a mild white fish here for that - yummy.

Kathy, I put in a request to become your friend so I could see Tyson.

Tomorow is another busy day with company for dinner - will try to get on for a bit.

Hoped you all had sweet dreams and the goblins didn't get to you!!

AHHHHHH, what am I doing up so early?!!! I really wanted to sleep in, but had to get up and eat, so now Im AWAKE!

Thanks for the fish ideas...I wonder if I could bake it with the 2g Wasabi Horseradish I found? Definitely going to do the stuffed peppers with the ground turkey too.

Kathy - sorry, I didnt see the "notification" until this morning, but I answered just now!

My miserable Dial Up wont let me watch the Tyson video, but I plan to watch it at work on Monday...he is too funny.

Im thinking of taking all the old VHS of my daughter (Ali) and putting them on a CD for her for Christmas...she hasnt seen them in years and they are all from birth to age 7 when her Granddad was still alive...she ADORED him and I think she might get a kick out of it. Thought about taking all Mom's old slides too and getting them put on disc? Dad took slide pictures from before they were married, through their military days, their wedding, kids being born, etc right up until about 1972...there are companies that will do it if you ship them off to them, but that means I have to take them all out and look at them and pick which ones to send...there are literally 2 dozen of those old round carousel things full! OMG when will I find time!:confused3

Got my formal picture taken at work yesterday...didnt come out too bad, but I came to the horrifying conclusion that I am still dramatically FAT! DARN, I was hoping to look thinner in the face at least! Oh well, it drove me to a particularly grueling workout at the gym, so today I feel like I got run over by a bus! But I have to grocery shop which is RIGHT next to the gym, so I guess I will go there first and then shop after. Good Pony, right Laura?

Maybe I will get in the Fall spirit and take the pumpkins out of the front flowerbed and put them on the front steps instead...I am Quite the Decorator!!:banana::banana: The mums in front of the house are in full fall color bloom, so it will actually look pretty nice.

Off to get organized for the day, its gorgeous out again, so me and the dog will be hanging out with some ponies!

Have a great day and I'll see y'all here later on.:grouphug:

Good morning everyone! Got to sleep in today until about 9. Feeling really good today.
Thanks for the comments about Tyson. He is our family clown for sure. But he had so much fun going to the "doggie" store LOL. He fell asleep as soon as we got home.
I don't mind Halloween as far as the trick or treaters and such. Just don't like the haunted houses and stuff like that. I do like to watch all the little kids trick or treating.
Robin, sorry your feeling the workout effects today. I suggest a nice long hot shower to loosen up your muscles a bit. And don't worry, I didn't decorate for fall or halloween this year. Christmas decorations are more my thing!
Have to work for a few hours today, but need to find out when the Steelers are playing so I don't miss the game.
Hi to everyone! I hope you all have a great day today!!
Catch up with you all later.
Kathy

Nell if you can go to Lowe's, sometimes they will have the big bags of dirt on clearance really cheap that are ripped open. When I worked there, I have gotten them for a couple bucks. They were the 40# bags I think.
You could always call them ahead of time, ask for the outside lawn and garden department and just ask if they have any dirt bags that are damaged for sale.
Just an idea ;)

Good morning met b's! I can't believe I went to bed at 10:15 and woke up at 9:30. My DH asked me if I was ok. I'm thinking my family must have thought I died and that's why they were checking on me. Now I
have to start getting ready since I slept the morning away. I will check in after the game. still have some laundry and grocery shopping to do.

I think I got zapped this morning! Lol!!

Have a great day :)

Jocelyn: That wasabi fish sounds wonderful. Do you think they use the raw macadamia nuts? I’ve used them quite a bit for different recipes. I wish I could make this raw pie with macadamias, dates and orange juice for the crust. I freeze it with bananas. So good, but not MM!

Pony: My aunt and uncle received discs of all their old slides as a gift from a daughter this past year and it’s all they could talk about! She ‘stole’ them out of their garage. What a great idea. I should do the same thing.

Kathy: You could do a show on bargains! Coupons, ripped dirt, keep ‘em comin’!

Laura zapped herself!!! Oh, my.:wizard:

I woke up feeling thinner again and my pj's are looser, but I weigh the same. Scales should be banned from the planet. Maybe I was made of air??

None of us told Beverly when we preferred to start a new thread, probably because we are so grateful to her we don't care when it is, but I guess we should reply somehow?? Thanks, Beverly! Whenever is best for you is fine with me!:tink:

Robin: Post your new business pic and let us be the judge. I bet we see a thinner face! You are working so hard on the new you. I'm really proud of you.

Happy Sunday!

Chores, chores, chores today.... :laundy:, cleaning, grocery store, CostCo. I am tired already.

Lisa - I saw those pumpkins at Michaels. I like the idea of putting Mums in them. I am hosting Thanksgiving this year so I think I will add a trip to Michaels to the list of everything else I am doing today. Are you as busy today as you were yesterday?

Robin - I am buying more stuff at Costco to put in the crockpot! Don't forget that we are waiting for the Wedding Soup recipe.

Kathy - loved the video of Tyson! Thanks for sharing.

Cindy - cute pumpkin pics!

Have fun with your errands, Kate! We're thinking of taking off for parts unknown and maybe a hike with the dog. That is if the last coach light installation goes well! I have 3 large pumpkins from Michaels which I carved like they were real with Frankenstein, a cat and a boo type guy that I reuse every year now that I am the only pumpkin carver at home. It's a cheat, but everyone loves them and I am ready in a flash for the trick-or-treaters!

Please, If I messed up and left anyone off the X-mas card list, please let me know. If I did it was unintentional and I want to fix it ASAP.

Lisa, it must be incredibly frustrating not to see pounds lost. It sounds like your loosing a lot of fluffy fat. Your sizes keep going down. As frustrating as it is, you know that not losing the heavier stuff like muscle is the best way to go. Your an inspiration how you keep to the plan and are always available to help others!

Wow! Everyone's so crafty and busy these past few days. I love all the pumpkin decorations and pictures you all sent. We don't do much decorating for Halloween as no one comes here to see it. We live down a dirt road and in all the years we've been here (27) we've only had 1 trick-or-treater. She got pennies as we were totally surprised that someone braved the dark on the dirt road.
I'm off to take care of an autistic boy for the day. He is the son of my BF and I take care of him while his parents build their new house. They are part of a group of families that help each other build their homes. It's called Peoples Self Help Housing and helps families that couldn't normally afford to own a house. Don't know if this is something that is nationwide or not.

Anyway, I'm heading off to take care of the boy and his sister and take them to church.

Will check in later.
Carol

Thanks for the Christmas list, Daniele

:confused:I can't figure out how to post pictures. Anybody

Cindy,

I am not completely caught up yet, but the easiest way I have found to include pics is to use photobucket (an online photo hosting site - free).

Download your photos to photobucket. Then copy the last url listed (usually says somethinging about using online). Paste that into your post and voila! your pic will be here.

If it's not a nationwide program, it should be!:woohoo:

Well, I will plan to start a new thread tomorrow morning. I was going to do it this a.m., and should have when I got at 6:30, but all I did was eat carbs and go back to bed. Slept til 11:15. We didn't get home until after 11:00 last night from the Ghostwalk, and after midnight when I went to sleep. At some point I pulled off my CPAP mask, so I woke up at 6:30 feeling like crap. I feel better now.

Laura, I'm sorry the Zumba excess wipoed you out.

Lisa and Cindy, such cute decorations. DD and DH decorated the outside of our house, but it's not nearly as cute.

Jocelyn, I sent you a friend request on FB.

Nell - dinner sounds good. It's nice to have extra done. I think I'll make grandma's bbq for the kids and DH for dinner. It has sugar and brown sugar and ketchup, so not sure how to make it legal for me.

Carol - we don't have a lot of trick or treaters either. I usually set out a bowl of candy on the porch, and take DD trick-or-treating. Due to some construction work, DH will actually be off work this year, so we are taking her TOTing and then holding a weenie roast here at the house for some friends.

Lisa - enjoy your drive.

Kate - sorry to hear about your errand day. That is tomorrow for me.

Robin, sorry you were up so early. You were probably just excited to talk to Ken today.

Well, off to Barnes and Noble so DD10 can look at her book that she forgot to bring home this weekend. All the libraries are closed today, so she just plans to look for the info she needs. Saves me some $.

Off for now. See you later. I hope I didn't forget anybody. If I did, it's not intentional.

Just checking in everyone. Still haven't made it to work. Steeler game came on at 1. I thought it may come on later. But with Mike's help, shouldn't take longer than maybe 2-3 hours.
I have been so proud of myself. I have had a shiny kitchen sink now for 3 days! No dishes in the dishwasher either!! I am thinking I like FLYLady. I plan to slowly get this house in order!!
I have one more thing I'm proud of. I have a Christmas catcus that the blooms would always fall off of. I brought it in this fall and it has tons of blooms. I read online how to care for them. I came to realize I overwatered and it was too hot in my living room for it. I moved it to the dining room, and the buds are getting bigger! I am sooo excited.
Cindy and Lisa, love the pictures. Thank you for sending them.
Ok, going to finish watching the game.
