This is what I don't understand either. I eat veges every day. I am taking fish oil. So don't think I'm stupid, but what is psyllium? I'm assuming no one thinks benefiber is any good...right?

Cindy no! I'm so very clueless about this stuff as well. I was going to run tonight and get some either benefiber or, or, or ...something! lol I just didn't know enough about it all to even respond.

I have used benefiber when I got "blocked up." Here is some info for psyllum. Also the site where I got it. There was a whole page of info.

Psyllum is a water soluable fiber. I have used the benefiber with much success. Make sure you drink lots of water, as the psyllum expands in your stomach and intestines to "help" things along. It can take a bit for fiber to work though.
Psyllium fibre comes from Psyllium seeds harvested from Plantago Psyllium better known as plantain. Don't confuse the banana-like fruit of teh same common name or with the plantain herb. This herb has been used thousands of years and even in the Middle Ages, Arab doctors recommended psyllium fiber for relief of constipation.

Psyllium fibre is one of the very best nutritional supplements you can take for your intestinal health. While it positively helps our health in many ways, its capability to expel toxins from the colon and its natural laxative capability marks it as one of the best dietary supplements for your intestinal health there is.

It is basically a bulk-forming laxative but unlike many laxatives, this supplement actually is soothing and healing to the intestinal tract. Make no mistake about it -- colon health is probably one of, if not the most neglected aspect of our health. As the Western diet is high in fat, condensed calories, and processed foods, many people don't have healthy digestive systems. A psyllium dietary fiber supplement can help remedy that.http://www.nutritional-supplement-bible.com/psyllium-fibre.html

Lisa, the book you recommended, is there any difference in books from the one done in the 90's and the one in 2000's? Just wanting to make sure before I order it. Had to wait for payday.
thanks

I got mine in 2004. I don't honestly know the difference, but I would be inclined to get the newer one.

:wave2:Thank you so much for that Kathy, and now I know! :teeth:

Do they make a pumpkin flavoring, or is this just wishful thinking on my behalf?

I had a pumpking flavored decaf coffee the other day from Tim Hortons. It was not sweetened so yes, they must make it. It was so good!!! It's regular coffee and they pump non-sugared flavor shots into it, or are you looking for sweetened?

No problem at all. Also, if you like salads, eat a ton of them with lots of cukes, brocolli, and peppers in them. That will help a lot too.
Benefiber has those little stick things that you empty into your water. They are a freebee.
I just dump one into my big water bottle (holds 33 oz) and drink it all day. Really helps.

I don't like that type of flavors in my coffee LOL. I always just did cream and sugar. Now it's pretty much cream and once in a while a shot of caramel or vanilla.
I may have to try the pumpkin though.

Lisa, have you heard of these books?

Pain Free 1-2-3: A Proven Program for Eliminating Chronic Pain Now
by Jacob Teitelbaum (Paperback - Dec 19, 2005)

Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome

I have, but the one I got was the one Dr. Oz recommended so I got it and I was so pleased I didn't buy any others. I'm sure they are all good resources.

I just lost two posts!! This isn't going to be my night!

No baby yet. They sent her home once again. She's due and has been in slow labor for over a week now, induce already! Poor girl never says a word, but her face and demeanor says it all. I'm so sorry for her. She's a quiet sweetheart. If that were me this entire town would be knowing how miserable I was!

Nell I believe her name is Adrianna, this one's going to be Audrianna, so her daddy can call her Audi. (I'm glad he's no longer into motorcycles, her name could be Honda or Harley) I'm not crazy about that so I will call her Audrey/Audri which was my original suggestion. I've always hated my name so I made sure my girls and grand daughters have feminine names or I protest, loudly! lol

I have a confession!! I ate three full meals in six hours today. All legal but it was a lot, I'm finally not hungry. I don't remember it being this bad during my initial detox, and even so, I should be past that by now. I'm wondering if this is a mistake, it could be my body protesting because I shouldn't be back on Step I at all. ::sigh::

I'm not going to vote on the Amelia thing. I've thought like Barb, she could be anyone. But then I keep thinking, gosh I feel bad that she's so upset and if she's needing us? Yes, I'm feeling guilty about this. Do as you like. I think you should tell her that we don't allow lurkers, lol, tell her she will have to post daily and be active so we can get to know her like she knows us. ...have I thanked you all lately for inviting me here?..:grouphug:

For the crock pot ladies, something that may interest you:

Oven cooking time // Crock pot cooking time

15 - 30 minutes //1.5 -2 hours with high heat or 4 - 6 hours with low heat
30 - 45 minutes// 2 - 3 hours with high heat or 5 - 8 hours with low heat
45 minutes to 2 hours // 4 - 5 hours with high heat or 8 - 15 hours on low heat

Don't you have to have made a certain number of posts and belong for a month or more to be able to PM or recieve PM's at LCF?? It might not be possible to contact her.

Thanks Jocelyn -

Psyllium is a fiber - different from the one they put in benefiber. I find it hard to drink the stuff so I get the capsules at Walmart. At one time I could get a huge bottle of them at one of the vitamin stores for next to nothing. Now you have to pay a bit more. My husband drinks his in a glass of water in the AM. His doctor told him to take it to help with cholestral. I think they often add sugar to benefiber. This has no sugar or artificial sugars added.
