My family and I are going to visit my sister in Tampa this summer, so i was checking out the Busch Gardens site. Imagine my amazement when I found out they offer discount passes to Florida AND Georgia residents! I so wish Disney would do this! From my door to WDW is about a 7 hour drive assuming no major traffic problems. I would so drive down for long weekends or 4 day holidays if WDW offered deals like they do to Florida residents. Do you think there is any chance that WDW might do this in the future?

I would love to know the answer to this too. If they do it for Busch Gardens than does that mean they have a GA discount for Universal Studios and Sea World? Anybody know that and where to get it? It would be awesome for a Disney discount!

It has been offered before. They usually do it when they need to fill up the parks.. If I remember correctly it was offered to Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina.. and maybe a few others..

I got a Georgia resident offer in 2007 for a nice discount. They do offer them to neighbor states from time to time though they have been infrequent.

That'd be awesome if they did, I would certainly take advantage of any GA resident rates Disney would offer.

Its not Disney, but the Downtown Disney Hotels also offer Georgia discounts from time to time.

I'm with you. It's about 7.5 hours for me. I would love if they offered a GA discount. Back in 2008 they ran a deal for GA, AL, TN, SC and maybe NC residents for a big discount on hotel rooms for dates during the fall and Dec. I attended a conference at one of the DTD hotels, and stayed at the CBR for far less than the DTD hotel conference rate. It saved my company $400 in hotel costs for the trip, so I would have been a bad employee if I didn't stay at Disney right? :lmao:

I just bought some Sea World fun passes that are offered for Georgia and Florida residents. A few years ago, we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and got a Georgia discount - it was a nice one too. We also took advantage of the 2008 Disney discount for a Sept stay at the WL.

Disney did have Georgia resident rates but it's been a while since I've been able to take advantage of them. Yes, it would be nice to get a discount but let's just be grateful we're close enough to not have a lot of the travel hassles others have.

As a Georgia resident, aren't you part of AAA South (not you personally, I mean the state of Georgia)? Because AAA South usually has discounted Disney tickets, or at least they did when I lived in Florida a few years ago. Of course, you have to be a AAA member too.
