They're not announcing it with Levy and Gosling there if it's not happening. That's the 50th anniversary of the original film. They're not leaving that timeframe empty. If it's Ryan Gosling doing a Star Wars version of Drive...IN!

I think the fans would be satisfied with just a re-release of the original cut of the original film/trilogy back in theaters for the 50th. No need to sully the anniversary with something new which may be as poorly received as everything else they've done lately.

Yeah, like Andor and Mandalorian. Those really suck. I'll take new films. You can keep Star Wars locked in a nostalgia vault if you wish.

Excited to get a new animation series. They're really leaning into show the baddies.

Probably, but they also put together an entire teaser with Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron over 4 years ago and that movie still hasn’t even started filming.

Sure but bringing out the lead actor, giving it a date, and saying production will begin this fall is a pretty good sign unless it's the Blade movie.

I do feel like this one is going to happen. It's interesting that it takes place after Episode IX. That's not what I pictured when I heard the title. I keep thinking about the video game!

I am just loving, loving, loving all of these announcements, interviews. Celebration always brings such excitement!!
Looking now for some good videos of the cosplay and floor.
I can't wait to find out where the next one will be. I really want to go to another one. On my FB feed, memories from 10 years ago in Anaheim came up. Such a great time!

In all seriousness, I am guessing LucasFilm "borrowed" heavily from Patty Jenkins concept and are incorporating it into this "new" movie. After all, LucasFilm owns whatever Patty Jenkins was toying around with Rogue Squadron.
