Hi All!
This is my first post on this forum. I have been lurking for a couple years! I just purchased the Premium Annual Passes this weekend, since it works out to be cheaper since I am going back in October for 9 days.

I had already booked my vacation at Pop Century with a 20% off room discount for Oct 15th - Oct 23rd in March, with Park hoppers, and plus dining. So when I called to remove the park tickets, the CM said she will give me the passholder discount... but this was not the "special" discount that is out now, since I am going during a blackout week.

Does anyone happen to know what this discount is? If it is any? Do AP holders receive a small discount when booking rooms and dining plan? After calculating, it doesn't seem much like a discount...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! =)

AP holders do get room discounts. You have to go to the AP website to see the current discounts & deals. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/login?execution=e1s1

I can't tell you what discount you got - only the CM could tell you that. However, I do know that the current AP discounts are only out through Oct 2nd so you shouldn't have an AP discount for your time frame - they haven't been released yet.

If I were you, I'd keep checking the AP site and then update your reservation when a discount comes out for your time frame

Thank you Beauty and the Best for your response! Yes, after calculating, there was no discount. The CM just said she gave me the AP rate, but I think it was because I wanted the dining plan, without purchasing park passes.

I hope I didn't make a mistake by purchasing the AP. I am trying to figure out if I saved any money by doing so... I hope there will be discounts coming out. The CM said I will have up until August 31st to apply any discounts. (That's when the total is due).

First, welcome as an official poster! :cheer2:

We purchased AP's this year because we knew we would be taking two long trips within one calendar year. Right off the bat, this saves us money on tickets.

Any room discounts we get will just be gravy.

Last year, fall (Oct. - Dec.) AP room discounts according to the MouseSavers website were announced July 22, the previous two years they were announced in mid August.

If discounts come out I will book a short trip in December.

Here's hoping! :)

Thank you! Here's hoping to discounts.. of course the week I go is a blackout week! :sad1: . . but nonetheless I am still heading there. I wasn't going to buy the AP but, we made a spontaneous trip down there this past weekend, and it would be cheaper.

The waiting begins!

am i right in thinking i should call to update my reservation.....especially since i want to add dining to it?
i can't do that online can i?
i guess i could cancel my existing ressie and make a new one..probably would just be easier to call...no?

Since you are staying at POP and have an AP I don't think I would purchase the dining plan. Instead I would get TIW card that allows 20% off most TS and the food courts at value hotels. I find it much better for us since we really don't eat all the desserts and it includes alcohol as well. Just an idea to toss around.

Yep, get the Tables in Wonderland Card! It has truly saved us a lot of money! 20% off all table service waited restaurants including alcohol. You can also use it at Counter Service restaurants where a sit down restaurant is not available...such as the food courts at the Value Resorts.

Did you really need Premium AP's? A regular AP seems to be the better deal for me.

Also, having the AP gets you shopping discounts. Don't forget to ask for the discount! This has really saved a lot of money for us as well!

I also agree that Table in Wonderland is a great card. I love it !

I just buy the food I need, usually no desert, I do not over eat just because it is included in FD. I really save money and eat very well !

This card is the right solution for many of us.

thanks for all your helpful responses!
-I purchased the premium AP because of the waterpark and more options. Also, my bf likes Disney Quest.
-I love that with the AP pass we get 20% off at the stores! =)

I don't really know much about the Tables in Wonderland card... I like the dining plan because I pay for everything up front, and won't need to carry money with me. However, I am having second thoughts about the dining plan. If there are no AP special package rates for Oct 15-23, I might just do the room only.

If I decide not to do the dining plan, I might not even stay on property since I don't have a discount for the rooms. I HAD a pin for 20% off, but that was if you did a package deal.

This is oh so stressful!

The current AP discounts go through Oct 2. There will be room discounts after that so check soon and often. Even if you can't get the room/hotel you wish the first call, keep trying. Most likely it will not be an AP package (you can add dining at full cost)

always have been in the past (check on mousavers) Usually the AP discounts were announced BEFORE the General Public discounts, however, the past few offers have come out after the GP offers. Keep watching the boards or check online at WDW site passholders section.
