Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Congrats on the last day of school:banana: I was one of those kids who loved to take all the left over stuff home:rolleyes1 My mum hated it but she did keep a lot of it too! It's all in boxes in her basement with my "School Treasures" (yes, that is really what they are labelled:laughing:)

I am so sorry to hear about your student. It's so sad that there are so many children who just never get a fair chance. I hope he is able to get the care that he needs. It really hurts my heart...:sad1:
Prayers and pixie dust for all others who need it too.

On a happier note, I love the picture of Kay with her Mickey bar! I love hanging out and doing quick shopping before the parade, The refillable mugs are a very inexpensive souvenier and a great one too because you can use them all the time at home and bring the magic to your everyday life! Kinda like the popcorn buckets! Mickey sprinkles and note pads too!:goodvibes And I love the one of Brooklyn hoola hooping too! She must be such a champ at it!

Yawn....oh my I'm starting to get tired all of a sudden. :surfweb:

I'm at work overnight while a team of guys change out our ceiling lights in the store and clean the fixtures.

This is a time when I wish I liked coffee.

I did all the little jobs I wanted to get done and now I'm surfing the boards...trying to stay awake.

Silly me, I didn't take a nap today and I was up early aswell.
I regret that now. :upsidedow

I will be sleeping tomorrow while you have your last school day.
You must be so thrilled!!! :woohoo:

I love the new mug you got! Very cool! :thumbsup2

I took home those sprinkles on my last trip.

Cute notepad!

Yes!!! Pretty please Ms. Wig'd... I'll take any pics of handbags that you can find!

Just checking in! Loved the Mickey Sprinkles - I really hope to take a case load of those home with us! We are SO SO close to our trip now! Its within touching distance - ish!!! 70 days and we will be on our way. In fact, its 10 weeks today!!! Can I have a dance for that please!

It made me feel so sad reading about your student - and made me feel so blessed to know Toby will grow up being as well cared for as we can offer and loved and loved and loved with all our might.

Hi folks -

I'd appreciate a prayer for my good friend. Her SIL delivered a baby at 26 weeks this morning - he's only 1 lb 12 oz. The doctors are as optimistic as they can be in this situation, but he's so tiny. He & his parents really need our prayers & good thoughts. If you have a moment today to think about Baby O the family would really appreciate it.

I just read this. I will be praying for him. It is truly amazing what medical advances have been made, so I will be optimistic like the doctors.

:angel::angel:

Have a good last day of school.

I loved the new Mug. I wished I had noticed them, because one would have come with me.

That was my favorite part of the end of the school year, "going home with a bagful of papers. stickers and assorted treasures" I would play teacher all summer. Well until my mom threw it away because I made a mess of my 'classroom':rotfl::rotfl:

Love that pic of Brooklynn playing with the hoola-hoop and the new mug.

Happy last day of school, MeMom!!!

I'm so glad to finally have nice weather here! The past 3 days have definitely been more like FL temps & humidity than PA temps, but I'll take it!!! :thumbsup2

I went outside last night & took more garden pictures for you! I promise to post them by this weekend on my PTR! We also planted 2 more rows last night -- zucchini and eggplant.

I'm not sure how to make a Mickey-shaped veggie -- but I'll think about it & work on it for ya ;)

I've been reading this but not posting, so I think I need to go back & catch up!!! I am sooo far behind on pretty much ALL of my subs. Thank goodness so many people have been at WDW over the past few weeks -- its given me time to catch up! :lmao:

So sorry to hear about your student. I really hope he finds his forever family!

Yay for the last day of school!

I love the pic of Kay with the Mickey bar, they are my hands down favorite treat!

When are you all going to be down in Oct, I'm working on DH for a quick trip Oct 3-6th. We'll see what happens!

I know how you feel about the boy. I have some students that are bad off as well. It's nice to know that as teachers, we can impact their lives for the better.
I LOVE those mugs and a what a great price. I must get the one that you got. Do they have different ones for different parks?
I made ADRs the other day for Thanksgiving. The trip seems so close know yet so far away.

I have gotten mugs in Hollywood Studios before, too. I figure we'd pay two dollars for the drink in a paper cup, so for another three, we get a practical souvenir.

Where are you eating at Thanksgiving?

Hi MeMom! I'm so so so close to being done with school. I can check almost everything off that loooong list I had a couple days ago! I only have 3 exams to take next week. My forensics exam was a take home test which I handed in today. I'm exempt from my sociology exam because I have an A and it's an elective. I can't believe I only have 2 full days of school left! Next week I only have to go in for exams and graduation rehearsal. Then I have the friendship service on Saturday and graduation on Sunday, followed by my graduation party/cookout. Not a big party, just family. Exactly how I want it And Jeremy, Leslie, and Caleb will be there! They move into their apartment in my town on Tuesday! And Josh and Kazin will be there. I'm excited to see both of my little guys! I have't seen Caleb since January I can't wait to see them together! I looove watching them interact and I love playing with both of them. Now I can do that regularly

Good luck as you finish out. I've seen FB pictures of two DIS family graduations today. I am looking forward to seeing yours soon.

Happy last day of school!!!

Sorry to hear about your student. Sounds like the mother was really caught off guard and well, that may before the better in the long run. I sincerely hope there is a family out there willing and able to give this boy what he does need and the patience to get through the adjustment period.

My principal was telling me today that the DHS guy that came to talk to the boy was worn out by the time his hour was up. He told the principal that he was up, down, and all around. The principal just shook his head and threw up his hands. He told him that's what we'd been dealing with all year! He may need someone with no other kids in the home for a little while, just so he can have all of the attention he needs.

Working and going to school. She's going to the same school as me and taking core classes for now, till she figures out what she really wants to do. Tomorrow is going to be emotional, but exciting

I saw your picture on FB. Taking core classes is wise. Don't waste time and money until you have a little more direction as to what you want to do.

Wow MeMom - that is so sad about your student. I work in the courts and we see the parents that lose their kids. It's all around sad and sometimes I wish I could take them all home with me instead. It's a good thing that the kids at least have a teacher who cares. And foster parents - they are angels on earth!
Congrats on finishing out the school year!!!
We still have a week to go! We're done on June 9.

I will say a prayer for baby O and family!! That is so tiny!!

Kelli - I'm sorry to hear you may have to cancel. I hope things work out that you can still take your trip - even delayed is better than nothing. Finances are the thing that makes life so difficult - how dare things need to be replaced when we'd rather spend the money on Disney?? BTW - that's you - the angel for your son!! You are a special mom!

Gotta go check FB for all those at wdw now before I go to bed!

I've thought about foster parenting, but I think I'm past my prime on that.

We're going to hope something works out for Kelli, but if it doesn't, she's going to have an awesome spring trip. :thumbsup2

I have a small collection of popcorn buckets, too. I use them for crayons and pencils at school, and I have a couple for odds and ends at home. I'll use some Mickey sprinkles this summer when I make some cakes with the girls. I may use some at church camp, too. The kids would get a kick out of that.

Yes, our DIS kids are truly loved.

70 days is just ten weeks. Ten weeks is nothing! :cool1:

I just read this. I will be praying for him. It is truly amazing what medical advances have been made, so I will be optimistic like the doctors.

I watched that little tiny Duggar baby come through, and she was less than two pounds, wasn't she? I am so thankful for smart doctors who know what to do for these sweet babies. :thumbsup2

Have a good last day of school.

I loved the new Mug. I wished I had noticed them, because one would have come with me.

When are you going back next? If it's not going to be for a while, and if they still have them, I could send you one.

I'd drink the drink first, though. :upsidedow

They should sell those Mickey-shaped plastic things like they have at Living with the Land.

So sorry to hear about your student. I really hope he finds his forever family!

When are you all going to be down in Oct, I'm working on DH for a quick trip Oct 3-6th. We'll see what happens!

I hope he finds his forever family, too. He deserves that. I worry about his mother, because she loves him. She is just not really mentally able to care for him properly. I hope there will be plenty of visiting times. It's just a hard situation on everyone, including on us at school worrying about all of them.

We'll be there later in October - the 15th through 19th.

Happy Last Day of School! Hope you have a "Magical" Summer :tink:

I hope it is magical, too. Too bad the first Monday off is not a Monday off. We have an in-service. :headache: Just kidding; tomorrow will be magical, and a bunch more days will be, too. I can handle a few PD days.

Happy last day, MeMom!

I love the new mugs. $5 is a steal!

I DID NOT steal it! :snooty:

;)

Yep, for Disney World, I thought it was a very good steal.

I mean....deal. :goodvibes

Well, friends, the NYE trip is back in the running. My friend doesn't want to go on the birthday cruise with me :scared1:. That's another topic for another day - but it frees up NYE. I am looking at coming with me goddaughter who's 11. We'll see. I'm bummed that all my friends are married with kids or pregnant & so they can't or don't want to come on the cruise. :sad1: there, I had my pity party. :upsidedow

A Disney trip is not in our current plans. I would love it if you could send me one. Thanks for offering.:goodvibes

Yay for Mickey sprinkles!!!!

That is so sad about your student. Unfortunately, I have to deal with kids like that on a day to day basis at my work. It is so sad to me. I started out working with the State in mental health and substance abuse. That was still sad to me, but I dealt with adults during that time. Then we combined our office along with the day treatment and also the kids treatment. That was a whole different story. Then when I started with DJJ, you have the bad kids who don't care what they do, but then you have the good kids who were just in bad situations. But you also have the bad kids who didn't get a good start in life anyways. So its all sad to me. Sometimes I think I am too tenderhearted to deal with it but then I have a teenager walk in and get an attitude with me thinking they are cute and then I get to put them in their place! lol

I will be happy to get more bag pics when we get back. We are on our way to the port at this very moment! 4 nights cruising, 4 nights at Vero Beach, then 4 nights back at Disney!

Five hard-earned dollars were spent on that mug. :thumbsup2
If they still have them in four weeks, I will spend five more and get one for micandminforever, since she doesn't have a trip planned in the near future.

Of course, if I don't get it for her, she'll be forced to go down there and get it herself....

Oh, wait....
we will see you long before then! :goodvibes

Make sure I have your address before June 30. :)

Congrats on finishing your year MeMom!!!!

This is my first official vacation day, so I am making it a lazy one. I made an omelet, talked to Jill for a while about our upcoming trip (we're already getting silly ;)), texted with Anita a little bit, and I've just been hanging out. I have to go back to school on Monday for PD, so I figured I would make the most of this day by doing a little bit of nothing. I have some household chores to take care of, but just being able to stay home and do them as I see fit throughout the day is nice.

Yay for Mickey sprinkles!!!!

Teenagers are complex beings, for sure. You can love them and despise them all at once. In the whole scheme of things, my kids were a breeze compared to many horror stories I have heard told, but I can honestly say I am glad that the task of raising teenagers is behind me.

Something so simple as Mickey sprinkles can bring a smile to us DIS folks, can't they?

Time for a Disney parade!

All those 'in-between' CM's deserve to have their pictures taken, too. They have kind of thankless positions of just filling in between the big guns.
