Gateway London/Paris 2011.... anyone else going?

Hi DIS-friends!

We booked this morning! My 1st choice was mid August... but it was already wait-listed... so early Sept will be good.

I knowthat I may end up missing out on a deal from not waiting... but I really wanted the savings of the gateway trip plus the additional freetime in Paris...and didn't want to risk waiting and having to book the classic trip.... spending another $2500!

Have any of you taken this trip before?? Any advice?? Suggestions???
Anyone else going on this or another gateway London/Paris trip next year??

I'll keep a list with dates in this post ... add your date and who all is going along!

It's a toss-up between this one and Knights & Lights for us. Pros of this one is it is more economical (we are using DVC points, so it would be a lot less of them). Cons is we only plan on going to London & Paris once, so why not do it up in style with K&L.

I decided to rent out my points... either trip was more economical that way. The point cost is crazy! I am going to use points for DisneyLand Paris for 3 nights post trip.

I would have really liked to do the Knights and Lights... but when I layed everything out... I decided we will probably be going to London a day early... and can check out some things on our own. My DD is all about shopping and the built in free time in the gateway will be nice for that... I'm not sure if a full day in Versailles would be something she would enjoy. So I'm leaning toward doing maybe a half day there just on our own. Whether we do or not... remains to be seen. But I think that I can probably swing a half day there and an evening show either in London or Paris (DD is a ballet dancer and would love to see a ballet in Paris!) for less than the 2K I'm saving by booking gateway

What are your pros and cons??
