I just saw on Allears that Garden Grill changed their kids menu. I really don't think my kids will eat chicken legs or sweet potato fries or broccoli. They would probably all eat just the mac'n'cheese. This is one of the restaurants that they all really wanted to eat at again, but I don't know how this will go. I could swap it for something else. We've never eaten at Coral Reef, maybe we should try that??

Coral Reef is worth a try! We went there when my son was 2 and even at that age the large views of the aquarium were quite fun for him, and the food was really good too. We've been to Garden Grill and while the character interaction is great there, we weren't all that keen on the adult food.

Our 5 year old DD wouldn't even eat the mac n cheese. She usually eats broccoli too, but didn't like it there. I don't know that she ate much of anything at GG and neither did DH or I. The bread basket was the best part of the meal, though I ate DD's chicken and if I had about four of those I would have been full!:rotfl2:

We enjoyed the atmosphere and seeing Chip & Dale, but the food wasn't our cup o tea.

Definately coral reef over garden grill. My kids are the same way and even before they changed it the food was not as good as Coral Reef.

GG is good for the character interaction, but the rest is just so-so. I think I'd switch to Coral Reef. It's really too bad there's not another character interactions (aside from the princesses) at Epcot restaurants. GG really just isn't that impressive.

oh no! thanks for the heads up, we had this planned for booking in a few weeks. now we may have to rethink it. we love gg and have done it twice. but my kids wont touch that either! they wont even eat mac and cheese down there. dang! hmmmm may have to scrap that one now....

I'd try coral reef if you've already done garden grill.

Ask to sit tankside. My DD was almost 4 and loved it. She has asked to go back this trip and remembers the divers in the tank. She was mesmerised by the turtle and singray that sat right next to us, so a relaxing meal for us all.

Garden Gril is our boys' favorite restaurant and our arrival night tradition. We were there for dinner in March, and again last Tuesday night. Before last Tuesday night, we ranked the food at Garden Grill as "good." Last Tuesday night, however, we ranked the food "outstanding!" Seriously, we thought it was the best it's ever been, and we've been going there for years. We needed extra mac and cheese and chicken for the kids, extra steak and extra of something else. We don't usually eat a lot, but it was that good.

But they did have chicken legs and sweet potato fries for the kids instead of nuggets and regular fries, and they had a cookies and cream mousse on a brownie instead of the worms in dirt or make your own cupcake. And they brought broccoli as the veggie for the kids. Even our pickiest eater enjoyed it, but that may make a difference to some.

We were at Coral Reef on Wednesday for lunch and thought it was good. I ordered the beet salad and the corn chowder and my husband ordered a chicken entree - kids had meaty macaroni (they thought it was just OK and our middle son spotted too many onions in it) and the chowder. But that's just a different experience, and while I have nothing negative to say about Coral Reef (other than the onions in the meaty macaroni that required some discussion!) we just enjoyed the food at Garden Grill much more.
