Congrats your doing a great job, I just read your journal. You should be so proud of yourself for not getting on the scale everyday. That is a bad habit I can not seem to stop but its only day 4 lol. How far into your diet did your hunger pains stop.

Doreen...thanks so much for stopping by and reading my journal...I have read your posts in other journals and you are such an inspiration...your supportive posts and kind words help to keep me on track. As far as that scale..I'm hoping to win the battle this week...it's been tempting me though.:rolleyes1

Kristin...thanks also for coming by...as far as the hunger pains..this has been the first week that I really haven't noticed them. But when I do get them...I get on here and read other journals and drink a glass of water:drinking: Now, I am addicted to the WISH boards:worship: but I guess that is better than eating something I shouldn't.

Yesterday was a good day. I updated my bear early this morning. Tomorrow is weigh in. I'm both excited and nervous about weigh in. With the 1000 minute challenge...I have been working my butt off each day...making sure to stay on top of the minutes. Eating has gone really well.

Can I cry now? I've done so well this week...I gained 1.5 lbs!!!!
How can this be??

Measurements:

Chest: last....40.5....this...40

Waist: last....39 ......this...38.5

Hips: last....45......this 44

Thighs: last..26.....this...26

A loss of 2 inches! Glad Kellee reminded me a few weeks ago to do those measurements. Or else I'd be mighty upset! Still don't like that the scale had an increase. I was sure it would have been better than that!
 
My dearest Gail, please don't be sad about that scale number! In your own words, you've "worked your butt off" this week in the area of exercise. There is only ONE WAY that the scale can go up while the measurements so clearly go down - you're gaining MUSCLES!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

More muscle is a GOOD thing! Your body expends more calories to maintain a pound of muscle than a pound of fat, even when you're NOT exercising. Therefore, you're burning more calories, even while you sleep!

You are doing it right, Gail!! Don't let that silly scale number derail you! You're getting smaller - the measurements prove it!

Right after posting...I debated between having a pity party, or get in some exercise! I choose exercise! Did a 2 Mile WATP and some lunges. Not a lot...but I did get moving! I know that my clothes are fitting looser...I know how I feel inside...I just couldn't give in! I know I've been a little leanient on the weekends (well a lot, but I've still been exercising). Hopefully just seeing my cheat free bear will help me get through this weekend without cheating!!! I even planned to have Chinese tonight for dinner...but for some reason..it doesn't sound as appealing as it did last night. Hmmm...:rolleyes:

It really did feel like a knock out this morning...I guess because I've been avoiding that scale all week. I'm picking myself up, dusting off my knees and getting back in there for the fight!!!

And so begins another week!

Girl, you did work your butt off this week and it showed when you took those measurements! 2 inches is a fantastic loss! Those stupid scales don't know that they're weighing that wonderful muscle that you've been building up. You're doing great. I hope I do as well as you did next week! :)

Yep, it's official...you have definitely gained muscle. That explains why you've lost inches and the scale is showing a gain. I think that is great b/c it proves you are doing this plan right. I did not get to post about your daughter the other day. But 6 lbs. in about 2 weeks! That's amazing! You and your daughter are truly inspirational to me. Keep up the good work. The evil scale will catch up with your angelic measurements soon, I'm sure.
 
Hello again, sounds like your doing great. Muscle weighs more than fat and if your working hard and eatting right...just give it time and you will see.

Sorry so short I need some sleep. I have become seriously addicted to the disboards. lol

I just hope my clip can look like yours some day.

A brand new day!! And it's a Saturday. I have nothing but good intentions for today!

Thank you Michelle, Kellee, Tasha & Kristin for those encouraging words and for reminding me about the muscle!! Personally, I think that pesky scale is playing with my mind.LOL!

Decided to do the 4 mile walk off weight video today! WOW!! I was sweating...didn't help that I turned off the air because it is a beautiful fall like day here in the Nation's Capital!!! I plugged along at it...giving it all I had...knowing I wanted to add some major minutes to my challenge!! I started adding some front and rear lunges each day after walking increasing each day by 1. Gotta firm the bum!! I got a babysitter this afternoon, so my husband and I are going to take a ride to Dover and play the slots. I'm going to pack a cooler with some healthy snacks and water so I won't be tempted to go out to eat or grab something bad for me.

You have been doing wonderfully with all the exercise you've been doing. You've really added some minutes in the past few days. I've updated your goal minutes so it'll show up the next time I update the thread.

I had yet another good day! Didn't win any money yesterday...but it was nice for my husband and I to spend a little time alone getting out. Things have been so hectic for him with work. Did well eating yesterday. We did stop and eat dinner on the way home..but I was good! I don't want to jinx myself...but I think I'm going to have a cheat free weekend! :earseek: No alcohol in site either!!! I make myself out to sound like a drunk..really I hardly ever drink..but it seems like over the weekends during the summer things are going on like cookouts, hanging out with friends, or just something you eat like pizza or crabs that call for a beer!:teeth: They even offer free drinks at the casino...I said no!!! Yippee!!

I hurt my knee going over a baby gate...here I work out like a maniac putting all this pressure on my knees and one simple move like going over a baby gate the wrong way popped something! Instead of doing any workout, I went outside and cut the grass. Even though it was a little longer...I'm only counting it as 30 minutes of exercise. Think I'll go ride my stationery bike for a little while now. I hate the thought of losing a day of exercise!

YAY GAIL!!! Way to go resisting temptation! I'm so proud of you! I'm glad you and DH got to spend some time together.

Yikes! I'm sorry that you hurt your knee. :( Nothing serious I hope, knee injuries are bad news! You still got in some activity though and that's great!

If your knee is still bothering you tomorrow maybe you can do some upper body work, abs or something else that won't aggrivate your knee.

Got my exercise in today...and had a good day!

I can't believe it...I actually made it through the weekend! They should make a clippie for that...LOL!
 
Wow, Gail, sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! Way to go! Too bad you didn't win any money, but at least you had that quality time w/ your DH which is always a good thing. Keep up the fantastic work!
 
I agree they should have a clippie for cheat free weekends. Somehow those are the most difficult to accomplish (at least for me it is)

Another suggestion about exercise with a bum knee. Maybe try some power yoga or pilates. It is super low impact. I guess it depends on how bad the knee is though, because the balancing might be tough on the knee.
