Gail's Journal (comments welcome)

OMG, Rae Ann, I have done that too! I thought I was the only crazy one out there. I also will not weigh after I take a shower b/c I am afraid the fact that my hair is wet will weigh me down, lol. I could go on and on about my crazy rules for weighing, but they get worse, trust me. Maybe they have a support group for this kind of addiction. If not, I guess this will have to be our support group.

That is so funny about the scale...I too have all kinds of rules. My scale is actually in the kitchen...staring at me when I want to eat:bitelip:

Rae Ann, I don't know what happens to me on the weekends either...I'm actually pretty good through mid evening on Saturday...but then watch out...I'm like a Tazmanian devil on the lose until Sunday night...when I feel so sick to my stomache and regretting it all like a one night stand:blush:

Well, here goes...I've lost a pound this week...I feel like I've lost more, but I'm also PMSing big time. So, I'm not too stressed. I'll stress next week when I'm trying to lose the weight I gain over this weekend:scared:

Did my measurements:

Chest...41 before....40.5 now

Waist...39 before....39 now

Hips.....46 before...45 now

Thighs...27.5 before..26 now

Total inches lost...3 inches (do we get to count each thigh??..either way it's still a loss)

Stats: 220/212/150

Have a good weekend to everyone!!

Alright Gail!!!! You're only two pounds away from your next fabulous clippie!!!!

Way to go on the pound loss and the 3 inches!

Enjoy your weekend! :Pinkbounc

Just a quick note...TOM decided to make his visit...a few days early...so the 1 lb loss doesn't look so bad.

I scanned some pics into the 'puter, but darn, I can't figure out how to get them on here! Help!

Here goes my try at posting pictures:

chefmickey.jpg

As you can see Chef Mickey's is a tradition! The first is a picture of me at my highest weight...280...Feb. 2001 picture taken with my mom...I'm on the left...as if you couldn't tell:rolleyes:
Then the next is 2 years later...March 03..w/my mom again..about 180 lbs...then it's me and my kids August 03..then me, kids and my husband June 04 at 215.

This is a pic of me and my husband Sept 03...at about 195

airplane.jpg

This is June 04 on the plane to Disney at about 215.

As you can see one of my kids took the picture.

Hope these come out. Thanks so much Michelle for walking me through this!

GAIL!!!! I love your pictures! You are so pretty! ::yes::

Gosh, you don't even look like the same person from that first picture to the last! Congratulations on keeping off 60lbs. That in itself is an awesome task!

Your daughter is so cute! I can see so much of myself in her when I was that age. I'm so glad she is wanting to get the weight off now. It will make her life so much easier.

I'm glad you were able to get these posted, I can't wait to see some updated ones! :)

Thanks Gail for posting those pictures. I really like knowing what my new friends look like. I will have to post pictures too, but I don't know how either. I will ask for help in my own journal. And Gail, I am so happy that you have lost a lb. You are doing great! Can't wait to see that 10 lb. clippie which is just around the corner!

Thanks for posting the pics Gail!! I'll find a pic to post soon.

I love Chef Mickey's!! It's my favorite character meal. I can't wait till we can go back to WDW so we can go there again.

I see that you've joined the 1000 minutes of exercise challenge. I think we can all do this together. Did you see the new clippie I posted? It'll be one more to add to your signature!

I hope you have a great time this weekend. I wish I could get away from the husband & kids too. :teeth:

I got back from my weekend away! It was great. I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. The best thing is my friend is watching what she eats and we were both being so concious of our decisions....and of course when you add a few drinks....you try to rationalize the food::yes:: Friday when we got there we picked up a steak & cheese...it was good. After, we went for a 30 minute walk...this combined with taking 3 flights of stairs 4 times that night carrying luggage and groceriess...we worked that stk&chs off! We really did behave...had a few drinks that night...but no other food. Got up early Sat, had a banana before the beach, we packed a cooler of water, grapes, carrots, & a ham sandwich to share. We decided to walk the half mile to the beach..in the blazing sun, carrying beach chairs, cooler and beach bag! What a workout! Stayed at the beach 6 hrs! It was the life!!! Walked back...who's idea was it to walk??? Went to our planned meal of crabs, shrimp, chicken, ribs, corn on cob, & hush puppies!! We told them to keep the chicken and ribs! Then went for a mile and a half walk(keep in mind we did stop for a few drinks halfway through:teeth: ) Got back to her place, had a couple more drinks..think we were pretty full!! So, we decided to call it a night...we had been busy all day, especially during that beach time:boat: Got up the next morning...it was pouring rain!! Which was just as well, because my visitor decided to pop up Saturday evening. So we headed home!

Everything considered...we really had a good weekend. Food choices weren't that bad considering what could have been.:rolleyes1

I can't wait to see your pics Tasha & Rae Ann! It's so nice to put a face to the friend!

I'm going to try for 7 sunny days this week. I have no plans for this coming weekend...so I need to do this! Especially w/ TOM here...I'm also not going to step on that scale until Friday. I don't want any discouragement right now! I'm so thankful to Rae Ann for starting that 1000 minute challenge! I see that both Rae Ann and Michelle have increased their minutes. Think I will stick to the 1000...seeing that I didn't even bother to move on the first day! If I see that I am using up most of those minutes early in the month, I will modify it! Feels like we're talking about cell phone minutes:bitelip:

Well, I'm off to get in some of those minutes!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I'm glad you had a great weekend. It sounds like you had a lot of fun but at the same time you got some exercise in (all that walking) and watched what you ate. Mmmm...your dinner sounded delicious.

I saw that you already got in some exercise today. Great job Gail!

Hope everyday is a 5 sunny day for you!

Hey, Gail, you did an excellent job watching what you ate and getting that exercise in this weekend! I also decided to stick w/the 1000 min. for now. I know I have felt tired after working and may not be able to get more than 1000 min. in this month. I guess we'll see. I am planning on posting a pic, but I have had a problem. I can't find any pics of what I look like now. Funny how I seem to be able to find dozens of me during my skinny days though. Can't imagine why...:scratchin Well, I am sure I have at least one "fat" pic somewhere. I think I will try to post what I looked like when I was at my thinnest and what I look like now...at my heaviest. :( I may also see if I can find a pic of Scott (that he will let me post  ) so you can see what he looks like as well. Bear w/me. I may be slow about it w/everything else going on. Hope to have it up by this weekend though. Good luck w/your 7 sunny days goal this week! I am sure you will succeed.

Had a good day yesterday!! Got my exercise in today....adding to those minutes:Pinkbounc

Decided to add the cheat free bear now that I really have no planned "cheats" Hopefully this will help me to get through the weekend...whatever works:tongue:

Tomorrow is DD second weigh in. Keeping my fingers crossed for her.

Got a call this afternoon and my parents want to take us to Olive Garden for dinner tonight. I know I can eat well there...have to stay away from the yummy breadsticks. The shrimp primevera is on their healthier menu...maybe my DD and I can split that. Then it won't be bad at all!

Have a good day...let's keep it a :sunny: day!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for your DD to have a great weigh in tomorrow! And, yum! Olive Garden...I just love Olive Garden. I hope you do well staying away from the bread sticks. That would be my hardest challenge yet...lol. I am glad you added the cute bear clippie. That has motivated me to eat OP a lot. Good luck to you and your daughter this week!

I did very well at Olive Garden....my DD and I shared the shrimp primevera...which is on their healthy menu...I ate 1 breadstick and one serving of salad on a little bread plate. I felt so good when I left there!

Yesterday was another good day! I still haven't stepped on that scale either.

DD weighed in today at 120...that's another 1.5 lbs and a total of 6 lbs!!! I'm really proud of her. We're changing up her exercise routine today...she's getting bored riding the stationery bike. I have taebo for kids...but I think her next thing is that Tony Little Gazelle. We've been breaking it down a week at a time. It's a schedule for her and that way I know what she's doing for exercise and can set her up as soon as I'm done with my exercise. We spend quite a chunk of the mid-day with exercise around here.

Here's hoping for another good day! I'm feeling kinda lazy today..but know I need to get into gear and get the exercise overwith! I will feel much better after I'm done.

Gail

GAIL!!!! You go girl! Way to stare temptation in the face and win! The Olive Garden is my favorite restaurant, I don't know if I could have done as well so I give you extra props for your willpower!

Congratulations to your daughter as well. 6lbs. is fabulous! I can only say again how proud I am of her.

I got through my exercise today. I did a walking aerobics tape today...and I remember why I stopped doing it. I guess when they do the grapevines...I seem to pull something in my hip. I didn't realize this until after the workout I did a few lunges..and I felt it! I decided to put a mile in on the gazelle too...since I was pulling it out for my daughter. I was sweating like a pig after all the exercise. Surprisingly...got in 45 minutes of exercise..even though I felt like scraping today. Feeling much better..except for the hip:sad2:

Boy...you have some will power in Olive Garden girl!! I would have skipped the meal and just went to town on the breadsticks!

I'm so glad to hear about both your and your DD's losses! You both are doing so great!

P.S. I don't think I got to post about your pics. They are great! We loved Chef Mickey's last year and it was a must do when we were planning this year.

When I find a picture of me that's I'll try to post it. I don't have a scanner so I'll have to find one on the computer that I've downloaded from my camera or something.

Have a good day!

Thanks Kellee!

Here I am sitting on the computer..fighting the urge to jump on that scale. It is one of my goals this week...stay off the scale until Friday. Really because of TOM and I didn't want to see bad numbers and just give up! I'm really surprised that I have lasted this long(with both the diet and the scale). I guess my stomache is shrinking, because I'm not really having the hunger pains lately.

Well, have a good night all!

Gail, I've just read through your journal! You (and your daughter!) are doing a great job!

Your pictures were wonderful! You're beautiful!! Thanks for posting them!

Hang in there until Friday, OK? No need to step on that nasty scale at the moment! ::yes::

I'm throwing a WISH party on the healthy living road! We've got the music on and we're dancin' our blues away! We're smiling and laughing and having a great time! Can you feel the party atmosphere?? We deserve to celebrate all the healthy choices we're making!

:rockband: "Celebrate good times, come on!!" :rockband:
