OK everybody what are the FW cabins like and will a family of 4 fit comfortably in them. How far is to the parks ect... Any info is great!

Wendy - Well it looks like we are neighbors! The cabins at FW are great! Our family of 4 stays almost exclusively in them when we vacation. We put mom and dad on the murphy bed in the living room and the two girls share the bedroom, one on the queen size bed and the other on the top bunk. The bottom bunk doesn't have a lot of sitting up room and after clunking her head in the middle of the night the first year, youngest DD refuses to sleep there again! Transportation to MK is easiest, you just catch the boat. AK is a direct bus, via Wilderness Lodge, I think. For EPCOT you can take a bus to TTC and get the monorail, and for MGM you take a bus to TTC and catch another bus. If you can afford it, rent a golf cart. They make transportation easier and much more fun! Here is a great website with lots of FW info. http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/photogal.htm. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me at Rlkullinger@aol.com

Hello Milwaukee neighbor! Thanks for the link I'll check it out. When your there do you do much cooking at the cabins? I was just thinking that it would maybe save us a little money by renting a cabin and cooking 1 or 2 meals there. What kind of activities do they have for kids ages 9 and 5? :smooth:

We usually just do breakfasts in the cabin. That saves us a little money and also time in the morning. We can eat while others are getting ready and then when we get to a park we don't have to worry about it. The have the petting farm(free) and pony rides, the hayride, campfire/movies(free), boat rentals, playground areas, and we really love the Hoop De Doo. We are going in September. When are you going to be there?

Hello fellow Wisconsinites!

We will be at the cabins in September. When will you be there? Our kids don't want to stay anywhere else. They are now 16 and 11 and still say this. Your kids will love it there.

I was thinking of going next May. If money will alow! Haven't decided yet. Thanks for the info! :smooth:

We4Mickey - We will be at the AK Lodge 9/7 + 9/8, and at the cabins from 9/9-9/16. Can't wait!

We just spent 7 nights in a cabin with DH and me, DDs 8 and 5 and my parents. It was great - the cabins are so nice - the pictures don't do them justice! We were all comfortable (although bigger beds would be nice - we're used to a king size at home so a double seems very small!) We had grand plans for eating breakfasts and some lunches in the cabin but the reality is transportation around takes more time than we expected so we only ate some breakfasts there. We used the buses all the time the first few days but then we started using the car for places that we couldn't get a direct bus (only direct to MK, AK and BB). We were also coordinating with my sister and her husband and they were at Coronado Springs so it was just easier to drive sometimes. We did have a golf cart from Golf Cart Enterprises and I can tell you I would never stay at FW without one! Especially in the summer when it is too hot to want to ride bikes or walk.

We've only been home 2 days and I'm ready to go back!;)
