No flaming for owning a fur coat please! ;)

When my mom passed away I got her long mink fur coat. Have never used it though since it is waaaaay to big. Kept it stored in a box (know I shouldn´t have) for a year, while we were moving and setteling in and now when I wanted to hang it up, I noticed "wrinkles". There are "streaks" here and there running in the "wrong" direction. Kind of hard to explain. :confused3

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this or if this can even be fixed?
Do you know if it would be difficult to have it altered and made smaller?

I would love to be able to wear it for special occasions during our icecold winters. :)

I don't know about Iceland, but my grandmother (who lived in New York) owned furs and there were businesses that specialized in care and alterations for those garments, so it's possible to have a fur remade to fit you. If nothing else, for now maybe you could find a better way to store it until you decide. :)

Check with your dry cleaner, they may do it or know someone who can. I used to send mine to them for storage.

I have my grandmother lamb coat. Way out of date but I have worn it when it was 20 below and snowing out. thing is extremely warm.
