Upon enterring EPCOT, my DD4 said, "I want to go to a park."

DW replied, "Sweetheart, we are at a park"

DD4 retorted, "I want to go to a DIFFERENT park".

Ok, funny things I have encountered:

1. There was one of those guys in front of me at the Pirate's of the Carribean ride line who obviously thought he knew everything and he was explaining to his family how this ride was built recently because of the movie...

2. In the Haunted Mansion ride, I was fortuneate enough to get placed in a buggy with a frat house vacation or something but one of them, in a transition area where not much is going on in terms of scary yells "Oh my god, they killed Kenny! You *******s!" c:rotfl: It's esp. funny b/c I'm a big South Park fan.

3. On the way home on my 5 hour flight back to Oregon :sad2: , as we were taking off, some guys say "woooo" and raise their hands as if they were on a ride

I forgot a few, sorry:

4. I'm not a smoker, but I know some of them and even they find this funny. I was walking with my twin SILs, 5 (not too weird how young she is, don't worry my husband is 23) in the World Showcase headed back to the Future World. We had just passed the smoking area btwn Canada and FW when we decided to take a bathroom break, still by the smoking area. As we come out of the bathroom, Emmy, one of the girls, walks over to some guy smoking and asks "why are you trying to kill yourself at the happiest place on earth??? are you freaking crazy???" And she was asking him like she was his mom or something, I just thought it was the funniest thing ever but even so, I apologized way more than I should have and told her to do so also because it is extremely rude. My DH's family is pretty conservative too so I don't know where here crazy-liberal thinking came from. Maybe me??? but shhh... don't tell anyone. lol.

5. Um ok, so here's another one from Emmy. She's one outspoken 5 year old BTW, she's very smart and the smart one's tend to be very outspoken...
Ok, so you know how many parent's feel as if it's totally normal and they're doing nothing wrong when they use their stroller's as a way to push through crowds? Well Emmy and Alyssa, even at the age of 5, are very athletic and aren't sissies, they can hold their own and be trooper's and walk around all day. We were walking down Main Street (which is stoller pushing central) and some lady bumps into the back of Alyssa's legs and Emmy turns around sharply gives the worst look a cute 5 year old blonde girl can to this woman and says "next time, why don't you stick that stroller where the sun doesn't shine? and are you really using an EMPTY stroller right now? seriously?" :lmao: I had no clue who has been teaching these girls to speak so openly but I am glad they did b/c a)you can't get mad at a 5 year old b)she's being the rudeness police and that's funny!!! Her mom had to give her a lecture on appropriate outspokeness. She told her that although she was very confident, she's going to get in trouble if she doesn't think before she speaks. And mind you, these are only 2 of the hundreds of crazy things she has said, and the only two that were rude.

I later found out it was her 16 year oold brother :rotfl2:

6. We were at the Poly Resort waiting for transportation to EPCOT, I heard this boy one time, he was maybe 8/9, and he really wanted to go to Disneyland. Not that it's weird but he was saying how he could just take the resort bus from our hotel with his dad, it's no problem and he could just meet his sister and mom at MK later. He was like it would be really cool if they could time it right and be on both of the Haunted Mansions at the same time.

Silly kids, lol.

IHEARTNY, Emmy sounds like the coolest 5 year old EVER!!!:rotfl2: I love that confidence that little girls have when they're small.

Several weeks ago, we were talking about who we would see and the things we would do on our up-coming trip. So, we will see the Dapper Dans, Jim who plays the piano at Coca Corner, etc. My DD said "We will see Roger, Bob, and Joe." (Not sure if these names are correct)

Roger, Bob, and Joe??
Roger, Bob and Joe??

My DH and I are looking at each other trying to remember Roger Bob and Joe.

So, we asked DD who they were. In a matter of fact tone of voice, she told us that they were
.
.
.
the bus drivers.

As a follow up, we were on one of the busses a few weeks later, and she got very happy. I asked her why. It was because Roger was our driver. I made sure I told him this little story. He of course didn't remember us, but my DD sure remembered him.

If some 5-year-old brat sassed me like that, I'd have words with her parents. She's not he "rudeness police" she is just flat-out rude. Sorry.

:thumbsup2 THANK YOU. For a while I thought I was the only one who didn't find this amusing at all. It's not cute, or funny, it's plain rude and nasty.

I have to say I agree. Your SIL sounds like a very smart little girl, but I think her comments are very out of place and rude. To tell someone to shove something where the sun doesn't shine is not funny.

I agree. Both comments those girls made were extremely rude. I would have been embarrassed as a parent!! If my kids ever spoke that way to someone they would have been disciplined, not laughed at.

I agree, she was horribly rude. Even if it were wrong to push an empty stroller through the park (and it's not... hello... I'm going to leave my stroller behind just because some random nasty child thinks I should? :confused3 ), her attitude and language were completely uncalled for.

I have to admit that I'm guilty of telling my kids to "SMILE DARN IT!" while we were at Disneyland.

We were there with extended family and the day had totally started off all wrong. The kids wanted to just go and explore the park since it was our first trip to DL.

Well, everyone else wanted to stop and take pictures in front of the castle - right after park opening so there were 50 million other people trying to do the same.

So we stood and stood waiting our turn. Of course, when we finally see an opening to take our group shot it proceeds to take us about 5-10 minutes to get everyone lined up properly etc. By this time, the kids have had it! They're ready to go and could care less about pictures.

My DS who hates to have pictures made anyway was more sullen than usual. He stood there and frowned. I look over at my DD who is a mirror image of her brother. I couldn't blame them but I wanted to get going!!

So, I look at them and say louder than I intended, "Just smile for the dang pictures so we can get out of here. SMILE DARN IT!!!!"

I turn around and there's this woman waiting on us to move so her family can take pictures. She says, "Wow...isn't this supposed to be the happiest place on earth?"

I was mortified with embarrassment!!!

Walking under the bridge going to the Ticket and T Center at MK there was a family from Britain. The mother was smearing sun block on the about 10 year old son when he cries out "Mummy your ruining my beautiful Arms!!" :rotfl2:

Later outside of LTT I overhear a grandmother type person tell her group "Lets go to the Presidents museum, I'm sure the kids would like to see the wax figures!" :rotfl:

ITA...funny thing is that many DIS'ers are posting on CB how they applaud the actions of a mom who's son smarted off to his teacher. The mom made the kid stand outside the school with a sign and ended up on the news. However somehow it is "cute" if done to a complete stranger

Yeah, yeah, I saw that story! Sometimes lessons learned can be harsh...

At least my DD isn't the only one who calls lettuce salad. Maybe she has a little British in her! :confused3

Actually, in britain it is 100% normal to call the lettuce and tomato on a burger, salad. That's what we call it. Apart from the portion size and that there is extra things in a 'salad'. What is the difference between a 'salad' and the lettuce and tomato? (This is a genuine question, I don't want to order a salad on my last trip and get something completly different than what I expect!:rotfl: )

P.s I love this thread :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm baffled over the salads in the US too. One time I ordered a tuna salad sandwich and was shocked to see that the "salad" is actually mashed tuna fish mixed with a mayo and a few other things... but no salad. No lettuce. Same thing for chicken and egg "salad" but then when you get a chicken cesar salad, you get a real salad with actual leaves in it.
One time I was looking at the Coral Reef menu and saw lobster salad. A salad with bits of lobster in it right ? No, other DISers told me it's a mayo mush thing again. :confused3

If you order a salad, you're going to get a mixture of greens, possibly with tomato, cucumber, onion, and other veggies.

If you order a salad with a type of protein in front of the word "salad" (chicken salad, tuna salad, lobster salad, egg salad) it is most likely going to be diced or shredded meat mixed with mayonnaise (the mayo mush thing). The most common exception would be chicken salad, which may be a green salad with cooked chicken on top.

LOL:rotfl: Thanks for clearing the salad issue out! I will be sure to inform my family when we go over for my wedding in May!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info, now I get it :)
