Hi all- I’m so confused. Was looking at what resorts are available in August and noticed that I don’t have ft. Wilderness as an option. I’m a blue card member (2011 owner). Am I missing something???

They might be popular to use with non Ft Wilderness points. DVC hasn’t sold many points for the resort yet.

They seem to be quite popular! They are pretty much the same point pricing as a studio...
AFAIK, only 63 Cabins are available for points reservations. The remaining 300 are available for cash through regular Disney Resort Reservation system.

Really enjoyed my 2nd stay in the cabins this past week. I enjoyed the first stay last year enough to want to go back, but the second stay reinforced that and also directly addressed my biggest annoyance with the first stay.

It is an excellent deal for DVC members who own elsewhere - I usually have enough points to stay in 1-bedroom villas every trip, 4 or 5 times a year - for 4-5 nights. But every once in a while, I'll do an extended trip of 6-7 days, and that eats into the point total - I don't like to borrow points, so I will generally try to conserve points for another stay in that same use-year so I can balance out the extra points I used up with the long stay - but that means staying in a studio, which is difficult when 99% of the time I'm used to a 1-bedroom, even on solo trips. The cabin gives me something more versatile than a studio - I can close a bedroom door, I get a full kitchen...but the points are so much less than a 1-bed and not too much more than a studio. With the big outdoor deck, and renting a golf cart to get around, it's a great, relaxing, space even though it's not much interior square feet.

And this stay, I confirmed that my dehumidifier problem during last year's stay was either a fluke of that cabin, OR has been addressed and fixed. Because that first stay, the dehumidifier ran 24 hours a day, was very loud, and I had to request they deactivate it...that was also in February, so it wasn't different weather or climate - I was worried that would be the one annoyance I'd have to address every time I stayed in the cabins. But this trip? No dehumidifier. Ever. It stayed off the entire trip. Wonderful!

I'll be back to the cabins in June - I booked two cabin stays this use year as I had dipped into my points a little harder for a few stays with extra days - this allowed me to balance things out and still have 30 points left to bank into the following year.
