In dca waiting for Olaf now as they let us in at 7:30. The Olaf M&G is outside by the Studio 17 building. Anna and Elsa M&G is handing out FP by Animation Academy building similar to what happened in DL. The sing along is not open. The CM by the sing along building said the tentative plan is Tuesday but there's still a lot of work to be done. Animation Academy banner had drawing Olaf in its scrolling message so I imagine those are happening. The Freeze the Night dance party will be starting at 6 pm tonight.

So how crazy is the line for Olaf? I bet once people catch on to him being out, it will get pretty wild.

So sad we just missed him. But so glad. :p I'll have to experience this one vicariously.

We are planning to hit CA in April so this info is great. I'll be trolling the boards reading about people's experiences to know what our priorities should be at rope drop. Thanks so much for the updates and keep 'em coming!

We just went to Anna & Elsa M&G and there is double capacity, although it wasn't being used now. You may see Anna or Elsa or both; there are no guarantees. We saw Anna.

For the Olaf M&G, once the Studio 17 building opens (maybe next week CM said), there will be the outside queue you wait in first. Then you will go into the building where you can play while waiting. I imagine you get a pager of some sort once inside. It sounds like you then might have a short line to wait in right before meeting Olaf.

To confirm, Animation Academy does have "Do you want to draw a snowman?"

We waited 15 minutes or so. There were around 10 groups ahead of us. I could definitely see that line getting long!

We're going in April and I hope this is still happening and we can meet Olaf. Does anyone have a picture to share?

Wow, that's awesome! I have to think that line is going to grow exponentially when word gets around.

Photos from today.

The Fastpass system is the same as they had in Disneyland.

At (Early or) opening they walk the line to the Fastpass Machines.
They have the first 30 go directly to the line.
The Fastpass machines are at the end of Hollywood past the Animation entrance.
At 1:30 they were issuing 4:45 passes.

The Meet and Greet Entrance. They have two sets like at the Fantasy Faire,
so the line will now go twice as fast.
This afternoon it was a 15-20 wait in the Fastpass Line.
Early this morning my friends got to meet only Anna without Elsa.

The Animation Drawing is all Olaf all the time.

The Olaf meet & greet line is also about 15-20 minutes.

The stage is set up for tonight, and here is the new drink menu.

The Meet and greet in Disneyland"s Fantasyland is gone, Olaf now just sleeps on the roof.

We are in AA right now. Olaf is at :00 and :30 and "Marshmallow" is at :15 and :45. We did Olaf in August so we will do Marahmallow tomorrow as we have a 4:30 ADR. Funny we got 6:20 return for A&E around 1pm- I guess they opened up the 2nd side after we were there if they gave out earlier returns after us.

I think marshmallow is the monster elsa made.

AA now has a bunch of comfy seats in the middle. still a great comfy vibe here :-)

Meet Marshmellow
He is operated by two cast members....

Elsa & Anna in their new home...
After 5pm there was less than a 5 minute wait. With two sets they could have given out many more fastpasses.

Olaf..
He can sign autographs.

Ice Sclupures.

We only had to wait 5 min max to see A&E w/ our 6:20pm return time. Super easy meet & greet. Both sides were in use- no idea if both sisters were on the other side too.

We also peeked at the Frozen Fun party -not really our thing w/ DD5- loud techno blaring, ice carving was kind of neat though. We are here until Tues and I really hope studio 17 and the sing along are open but CM's all said it's iffy.

The park was far less crowded than I had been planning for -perhaps the colder weather (by SoCal standards) kept people away. It was much more crowded when we visited in mid-August (weekdays) and spring break (late March, weekdays). We got through the doors around 12:30pm, did 3 rides in Bugs Life, rode Goofy's, the zepher, swings, streetcar and Ariel, did all the activities in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (we never get through all of them), plus dinner @ WCT, met Woody, Jessie, Flick, Anna and Elsa - each with 5 minute of less waits, plus lots of time people watching and shopping - AND we were out by 6:45pm.

I'm sure tomorrow will be busier and in terms of the A&E M&G once folks realize it's at CA the fastpasses will not be available all day (it looked like they were still being handed out even at 4pm but when we came back at 6:20 for our FP return the kisosk and sign was gone). All in all, a wonderful day on day 1 of a trip where we had very low expectations on being able to do anything other than enjoy the sights.

Oh man, I didn't realize they had a Marshmallow too. o.o I'm over Frozen, but I might make an exception to go see him. Is he over at the Animation Academy or elsewhere?

Thanks for the info! We'll be there Jan 4-6 so I'm thinking all Frozen Fun will be up and running in full force? Super! I wasn't sure since the official opening date is Jan 7. Can't wait!

Marshmallow was out during the dance party past the dance area (under triangular structure in the northeast corner of the park, I believe). I'm not sure what time he came out but he was there at 6:30 when we went by.

Officially, they will say it is just a Sneak Peek until Jan 7, but from talking to various CMs here, I get the feeling that they are working quickly to get everything up as soon as possible. I would guess that by your dates, everything in CA will be in full force. (Disney Parks blog about New Year's Eve says it will be up by then. Http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/12/spending-new-years-eve-at-disney-california-adventure-park/

however, the new show in Fantasy Faire is not supposed to start until Jan 7.

Thank you! I'll take a look at the dance party when I head back to the parks next month then :)

Where exactly is this dance party? I am hoping we can AVOID it during our trip. Especially since that giant guy (never seen the movie) will terrify my son.
