Frozen Fun

We were the very first family to meet him on Sat 12/20...the very first family ever! So we didn't get to play in the snow while waiting. Not sure how the FPs are working for him since we didn't need one. I'll post pics once I get home :)

Where exactly is this dance party? I am hoping we can AVOID it during our trip. Especially since that giant guy (never seen the movie) will terrify my son.

You've never seen Frozen? You're probably the only person visiting the resort who hasn't! :rotfl:

Anyway, the party is very avoidable because it's in a little corner of the Hollywoodland, just as long as you don't ride Monster's Inc. at night.

I've heard enough of the songs from Frozen to really not care to see it. And my son isn't old enough for movies so we don't have to worry about him wanting to see it anytime soon. :)

FYI they started the sing along this afternoon - we had walked past it at 1:45 en route to our Olaf fastpass return which ended at 1:50. By the time we walked the 50 yards back after the photo (at 1:50) we were told they just shut the doors on the first show and would not let us in, and could not tell us when the next show would be. The CM also told us the next show would only be for VIP's and that we should check back tomorrow. We were really bummed as we'd been walking past there multiple times per day since Saturday.

So we went into AA to play in the sorceror's workshop and then sat on the street to have a mickey ice cream pop. FYI they added a Frozen "Let It Go" sequence in the center AA atrium which was not in place when we were there Sunday - nicely done, and the scenes include some concept photos of Elsa, Arendelle and so forth.

At exactly 2:30 we walked back over and saw a sign that said "next show at 2:30pm" and the CM said - nope, we just shut the doors and you can't go in. To be honest I was really annoyed at that point - it was that same CM that told me it was for VIP's only. I understand it's a preview but he was IMO very rude especially since he knew we missed the prior show by 30 seconds and also missed this show by 30 seconds and again would not comment as to when the next show would be (and if he did not know, that's OK but I would have really appreciated a "I'm sorrry" - "I'm sorry's" go a really long way with placating me when I'm disappointed and I say it often when I see someone is upset about something.

Tomorrow we are going to regular opening at one of the parks at 8am but have to be on the road back to NorCal by 10am so I'm not sure which park we will go to. As much as we'd LOVE to do the sing along (DD5 is all about Frozen, all the time), I do not want to get set up for disappointment again so we'll probably hit DL instead. Honestly I would have been fine with the whole thing if the CM had not been so smug and IMO nasty about how we were not allowed in (and that VIP comment ticked me off- very un Disney like.)

I hope someone else got to check it out today and let us know how it is. We won't be back until the Neverland 5K in May and I think this attraction will be gone by then :-(.

Thanks for all of this information! We are going in January and will have access to early entry. Based on your experiences, would you first go to Radiator Springs Racers and then get the Elsa & Anna return ticket, or would you get the return ticket first and then go to Radiator Springs? Seems to me, based on what I'm reading, that we don't need to rush to get the return ticket for Elsa and Anna. I guess I'm just looking for confirmation on that. Thanks!

yes at this point it looks like A&E FP tickets are still available for several hours but this could change by January once more visitors realize A&E are not at DL anymore so folks who visit should keep posting availability.

The A&E FP's are not connected to the other FP systems. Olaf FP's are handed out by a cast member at the Olaf line and you don't even use a FP machine or show your tickets so they are also disconnected.

With RSR if you absolutely want to go on it I like to get the FP's ASAP because the ride seems to always be down. It was down most of Monday and part of yesterday. We finally managed to get on it yesterday around 10:30am but the FP return line was >30 min long because the ride had already been down twice for an hour total and they were also honoring FP's from Monday (The CM said sometimes they do that if the ride was down a lot).

Question
If I get in line for AnE meet n greet at park opening can I ask for a specific return time?

Thanks for your help

No- they use a regular FP machine so as my daughter says "you get what you get, and you don't get upset".

Wondering if anyone has been to the parks recently and has an update on AnE? We will have one day in DCA and are hoping to get to Radiator Spring during early entry as well as secure return tickets to meet AnE. Just trying to figure out our best strategy - still go to RSR first and then we will have time for AnE, or should we split up and send one person to get return tickets while the other parent takes the kids to RSR? Or do AnE first and just get a Fast Pass for RSR? Any information is helpful! Thanks!

You should have time to do RSR first, then go get fastpasses for Anna and Elsa.

We just did this and getting to CA just after rope drop we walked into meet Elsa and Anna with no wait. They were great and spent a few min with DGD who is 6. Then we walked right into Olaf's snow fun and met Olaf and played in the snow.

FP for the Frozen Sing Along and RSR aren't open until the park opens to everyone so if you make your way to those just before opening times you should be able to get FP with no problems or stand in RSR racer line before general admission because it is much shorter then than during the rest of the day. I'm not sure if the FSA is connected or not so ask before you get a FP if you want to get another attraction FP during that same time.

EMH is really the way to go IMO.

I am headed for a visit with my DH, DD (4), and DS (3) for my kids first visit soon. We'll be in the parks 2/2-5. My daughter is a Frozen fanatic (shocker) and all she wants out of the DL trip is to meet Elsa and have pickle flavored popcorn.

We will be at PPH and taking advantage of the MH at DCA on Monday 2/3. For my kids very first Disney exposure I want to plan our first event in the park to be great...not a frantic run for FP lines since they won't see the value.

Looking for feedback on my strategy based on what I've read here - Enter the park at rope drop and walk to the E&A Meet & Greet, visit the Olaf Meet & Greet, Get fast passes for anything else Frozen, both kids would LOVE the sing along. Finally grab FP for RSR.

Thoughts?

I'm looking for the exact same feedback. We will be there next Friday and wondering if we should do the A&E meet and great, meet Olaf and then pull FP for Radiator Springs Racers?? We won't have EMH to work with.

How long will this Frozen Fun thing go on this year?

I was there last week and a CM said that it is confirmed through May. I was standing in Studio 17 at the time, so I'm not sure if she was talking only about the indoor snow/Olaf or all of the Frozen Fun activities.

Any tips on the order in which to (1) meet Olaf, (2) meet Anna & Elsa, and (3) watch the Frozen Sing Along? I thought I had a plan, but I am worried about the return time frames on the Fast Passes. We are heading there first and these 3 things are our priority. I thought we were going to make it to see Freeze the Night and Marshmallow, but it is ending before we will be there. Thanks!

Olaf first. Either play in the snow or go grab fastpasses to the sing a long and Anna and Elsa while waiting for your pager to go off. We went on Tues - park opened at 8 and was very busy. Grabbed Anna and Elsa passes around 9:00 and return time was 1:30. They let a few people into each show standby, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I have been reading up on it and the advice I've seen says to line up for A&E fast passes, then hop over to the Olaf line. The sing along runs every 30 minutes... Not sure but I don't think that one is an issue to get in to?
