Is it better to stay toward the front of the ship or the back?
Also, is there a huge difference between Cat. 8 and Cat. 6 rooms?

Forward is closer to the nightclubs and large theatre. Aft is closer to various restaurants. I think either is fine. It may be a large ship, but it's still just a ship, not a city -- so it's a fairly quick walk from one end to the other.

The stateroom interiors are the same square footage. Both have the split bathrooms and the same furnishings. But Category 8 rooms have a large window, while Category 6 rooms have glass doors and a verandah.

As far as movement goes, I thought that I had read that the lower & further back you were on the ship the less motion you felt. Well, that seemed to not be the case for us. We had stateroom 7010 forward and didn't feel much rocking when we were in the room compared to the rest of the ship. We had 8-15 foot seas for 3-4 of the days so it was rocking. I had a problem walking in Parrot Cay the most, or even just standing in one place for that matter.

Lisa, very glad to hear that - haven't gotten my docs yet (en route via fedex from TA, who was on vacation last week), but she emailed me to let me know our cabin is 7504. I was a little worried about all those posts I have seen that mention that aft is better --

Hello there, MOG! Haven't seen you in chat lately. All set for the cruise yet? We were in 7010 just a few doors down from your stateroom portside. It was a wonderful room!!! The only thing that was loud was the last night because the luggage room is across from 7510/7512. The door closed quite a bit that night until 12:30 or so. We did feel some movement in the room but usually only when we were in bed and then we went to sleep pretty quickly thanks to the rocking. One thing that we found worked a little better for us with getting around the ship was to walk down the hallway on deck 7 to the aft stairs if we were going down to dinner. This would work with the elevators too. The last night especially were very difficult to navigate thru Shutters on the way to dinner in AP. Hope that you have a wonderful trip!

Thanks, lisa! Been busy - both DDs have been in community theater plays DD-17 in Camelot Oct/November, DD-13 played "Beth" in Little Women in November, DD-17 opened last weekend in Sanders Family Christmas, and now DD-13 is rehearsing for Wrinkle inTime to be done in January. So my weekend nights have been spent at the theater lately.

Looking forward to some R&R on the trip!
