We just got awesome news. our waitlist request came through. We are now in a Cat 2!!!!
Yeah!!! Congrats. I didn't think there'd be much movement on the waitlist until final payment. I'm happy it worked out for you.
Speaking of, if the Dream's inaugural is incompatible with this cruise, how many people plan on switching? I know we are definitely staying as Panama is FAR more interesting, and frankly inaugural cruises mean inaugural problems.
Congrats Jen & Jeff on the upgrade.
We're at WDW now and having a great time. We're in Jambo House at AKV (at the end of Zebra Trail). The kids had a blast checking out the animals outside our room first thing this morning.
We're doing the MNSSHP tomorrow night, with dinner at LTT. It should be interesting, especially if Sophia doesn't get a nap beforehand. Today she was on the move from ealy this morning until she crashed in be around 10:00pm.
Honestly, on canal day, being on deck 10 forward is ridiculously overrated. There are plenty of outside staterooms with disboarders willing to share, as well as plenty of room elsewhere on the top decks. Deck 4 is nearly deserted. And they all offer great views. Heck, the raising/lowering in the locks is MUCH more dramatic from deck 4 (Where you can shake hands with the guys, once you rise up to them) compared to deck 10 (Where you can barely feel the boat going up). About the only time I'd recommend even wandering to somewhere with a forward view is in the Gaillard cut, just for the dramatic scale of things. Just ask someone on the rail if you can step in front of them for a few seconds to get a picture, take your picture, admire the view, and then go enjoy the transit from any of the other great places to watch it from.
I would agree with Jeff. I think that the experience of being able to see the ship going up and down will be magnified by being on a deck where you truly will feel the experience..although the capability of shaking someone's hand before I shoot up/or down for that matter is going to be very interesting.
I will be def staying with this one, I would like to go on the dream but not until she goes to some places Ive never been before.Last cruise our waitlist never cleared (We just wanted a non handicap cat 3). About 3 weeks before sailing one of the sideways cat 3's opened. It was awesome.
I honestly didn't expect any movement on the list until closer either, but I have had a long term feeling that DCL has been holding back (There is NO WAY every since cat 4A sold before I got through that day, but apparently it did, but now they have eight available?). After all, these are the staterooms that they'd be giving to VIP's and what not. Personally, I think DCL realized that the Dream might be sailing very shortly after this cruise, and they are saving the "star power" for that cruise and opened these rooms up.

can you confirm that date,is it when we cruise, just for us brits!Just wanted to say hi as I head back to AKV after the extra magic hours at MK. I rained a little but not enough to put a damper on anything. I am going to geek out really quick. Jeff if you are serving Tranya I am in for a Star Trek movie night in your suite. Well tommorw it is back to EPCOT for food and wine and a short concert from Boyz II Men. That should be cool. Oh and I am with Jeff, an first cruise on the Dream is a great thought, but this is better. And there may be a really cool sight on 1/6/11. Don't ask what, I swore I would not post in a public forum. Just think about it. Do not post the answer. We do not want DCL to change plans. I told Denise yesterday when I met up to say hi to her. She also promised not to post it.
Just wanted to drop the first of many posts and introduce myself. My name is Adam and I'm married to Shoshie. Can't wait to go on this amazing cruise..I've been spending way too much time on YouTube watching Disney Cruise Line videos...darn my wife for getting me addicted to this amazing cruise line. This is my first cruise through the canal, but I wouldn't want to do it on any other line! If there are any tips or thoughts..let me know..I want to learn!
Congrats Jeff and Jen! I could only wish...Perhaps one day when a Disney ship comes our way and we don't have to pay for airfares. We're not switching, especially not if the Dream is doing short cruises.
And thanks all for enlightening me on crisco!
Oh and I wanted to ask if anyone (mmm...Linda?) had any recommendations for a nice place to go for either Christmas lunch or dinner. Hotel, restaurant etc we're not too fussy.
