From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

I'm losing my mind!!!
Thanks to DCL's last minute room assignments, I have been frantically trying to update everything (along with helping DD finish her Independant Study for her time off) and I screwed something up. I awoke early this morning to finish, but before I got up I checked my email on my phone. While I was checking, my phone slipped and I dropped it. As it was falling, my thumb hit the "delete" button on an email that I REALLY needed...someone sent me a list of something, and I cannot remember WHO sent it or WHAT it was about!!! I have names and dates swimming in my mind so I'm not sure what I am missing.
Please help me!! If you sent me an email (not PM) in the last two days that included a list to something, can you resend it? Mary and Susan, it is not the FE or B-day lists...I have those =0)

Basically packed and I have no intention of doing laundry. I will send a couple dress shirts out if I need to, but no laundry!

19 nights - 7 people - 2 large suitcases, 4 medium of which 1 is just shoes ( I so hate to admit that) - all packed already, and a garment bag. Panicked yesterday and did a practice run with the garment bag and yes it fit 8 dresses, 5 sport coats, and 7 dress shirts and 6 spring jackets just in case in the outside pocket. We also have three carry ons - one filled with FE stuff, and two smaller ones with stuff for the first two nights. I've always prided myself on being a really good packer (thanks dad) and it helps that I only need overnight diapers this time.

I'm also updating my signature now. Just back from DS11's birthday dinner and tomorrow is DS4's big day!

oops, forgot I never updated DD9's birthday the week before Christmas! Now we are up-to-date!

As of right now Jack has one medium suitcase packed. Our garment bag is packed. We have a few carryons. One will be my camera/ computer bag. Another is Jack's carryon with his games, etc. I have my roll on carryon with my meds, jack's meds, tolietries, first aird stuff. Another carryon is odd ball stuff, it's mostly the roll on to take souveniers home when we get back. I do have a small bag right now that Jeff is putting the magnets etc in (it's the DISboard bag). I'm about 2/3rds packed for my suitcase. I took the largest suitcase so I could fit all of my stuff in there. Right now Jeff is suitcaseless. As soon as he figures out what he's packing one of the roll on bags most likely will get merged with his suitcase....
And we will be doing laundry!

Linda- I have a funny story about Mozz, you just reminded me of it when you mentioned Dimples. I think I already told you, I have a "little Mozz" that I actually got first at age 6, then I got "big Mozz" at age 7. Big Mozz is the one I sleep with every night, and I have travelled with him a lot too, but he is big- about 36 inches- and when packing got tight, for a few trips, I **gasp** put him in checked luggage to have more carryon space! I was young and foolish and thank goodness he was never lost or hurt, but looking back I cant believe I ever did that. So now, Big Mozz comes when we drive to vacations, and little Mozz gets the privelege of travelling on the flying vacations in my carryon, like this one. Thought you'd enjoy this as a fellow plush animal lover : )

We have a couple of dragons that travel with us. They LOVE to fly, especially when we get upgraded.

How many suitcases is everyone bringing? We dont have to pay for bags, so we can check up to 2 each, but I'm hoping to get away with 3 between the 2 of us, although nearly one whole bag will be taken up with FE gifts! How about everyone else?

Here is our checked luggage so far for 4 people for 16 nights:
2 large garment bags
1 small garment bag
2 large suitcases
1 small suitcase
1 medium duffel (all meds and toiletries - we're coming prepared with almost any OTC med we might need and many Rx that we may need)

We'll probably end up with just one more small suitcase for DD's day wear. Got home from picking her up from the airport about an hour ago and laundry already started. Once we finish it, we'll get her packed up.

Carryons:
1 bag strictly FE gifts
1 rolling backpack with one change of clothing for each of us
2 large tote bags

Even though there are only four of us, we are renting a minivan to get to the port. Last year, we got full size car and because I was spending 9 nights (split before and after) at WDW in addition to the week cruise, we had about the same amount of luggage. Thank goodness Pop allowed us to leave some of our bags there for the week or there would have been NO way it all would have gone in the car.

I'll have the bracelets with me if I happen to meet up with any of you. It will just be Carly and I, as Joe has to work and won't be joining us until Wednesday night. I have to use a scooter and we'll have our bracelets and lanyards on, so if you see us stop us and we'll visit.
Safe travels to everyone.

Packed! We leave in the morning. 2 people: 6 checked bags and 2 carryons. We are embarrassed....we pride ourselves on packing one rollaboard for both of us for a week but with the FEs and other things I want it just kept growing.

I always overpack. After the cruise we will be going to Disneyland for 3 days. We are staying at Paradise Pier and are taking the Disney transfers.After that we will be going to see friends in Las Vegas for 3 days. I will have two big suitcases and so will my husband. We might take another bag. On our last cruise we had to buy another bag for all the stuff to take back hom.

Need a recommendation for a camera shop near WDW that carry good quality camera products.

As my DH was packing his camera he realized he forgot to buy a polarizing filter. We leave in the morning early and our only opportunity will be in FL. He is so upset with himself for forgetting. We will be in Phoenix tomorrow and he has already called all of the shops there and they are not open on Sunday. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. If this is all we forgot I don't think it's so bad, but then I have a point and shoot not a DSLR.

Last minute/expedite shipping/probably pay twice what he could have gotten it for if he only had been thinking about what to pack sooner.

When do you leave in case he finds something in the City. You know even the willingness to do this for him deserves a drink. I know he will gladly pay up. Thanks again.

Packed! We leave in the morning. 2 people: 6 checked bags and 2 carryons.

We've had a very productive last 2 days while DD has been staying with Grandma and Grandpa. I'm 95% packed and all Christmas decorations are down.
We have 2 large bags, 1 medium and 2 carryons (one with an empty carry on duffle inside). Plus laptop bag and camera bag. I'm forgoing the pirate boots this trip, just can't justify the space for one night.
I even organized all my decorations while putting them away. Found some 18gal storage bins at Wal-Mart for $2 a piece. So all Christmas decorations are in hot pink bins (for $2 I didn't care what color they were). Halloween decorations are in purple and Easter and Valentines are in green. All labeled too so I remember where everything is.
Won't get much done tomorrow as we have plans but luckily I'm off Monday so I can finish printing magnets, make DD t-shirt to match ours and finish up a last SM gift.

Did some catching up on the main cruise board and it looks like only the Magic met up with the Dream today. So still keeping fingers crossed for all 3 ships to meet up on the 7th!

No Wonder is at CC on the 6th, not the 7th. It's on a 5NT leaving 1/3 - CC on 1/4, Nassua on 1/5, CC on 1/6, Sea Day 1/7. We have friends going on that cruise.
