From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

Maybe all of you already knew this, but I was just checking "the what cruise ships are in port when you are site" and it is showing the Wonder and Magic at Castaway Cay on the 7th. Total 5000 people. Anyone know if this is correct?

Here is the schedule for the Magic that I got off the web -

Where are you all seeing that? Disneycruiseline.com shows what I posted
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/cruises-destinations/bahamas/itineraries/5-night-bahamian-cruise/ (scroll down to "5-Night Bahamian Holiday Cruise (1/3/11)")

That's what I saw previously when I checked back a few months ago and it's what my CM buddy confirmed. So I'm sure it's a sea day for the magic.:thumbsup2

I believe this bad info goes back to the original Magic 10 night cruise that was then split into 2 5 nights and the site that lists ports never updated since the Magic didn't appear in another port that day.

Has anyone made a spreadsheet breaking down how many are in the cabins and the ages of the children? Just trying to finalize our FE gifts.

Does anyone know where and when the Cabo Whale Watching (DIS) tour is meeting??

The meet time and location will be posted on page 1 in post 3 when it has been decided

YEAH for competent vets and pixie dust!

DOWNTOWN Disney or any other guest services booth at a park. I'd go Downtown to the Marketplace. It's torture to go to a park guest services and not be able to go in!

glad bandits doing better!!

the whale watching thing - well, this is fine for those who have internet on te boat, but will we know before that? i do not plan on having internet access on a regular basis (if at all). Is there another way to find out - preferabley before we get on board? or a note somewhere we can check? sorry, but i know how bad the acces is and so i just refuse to pay. so i guess i could pay the day before and find out, but ti'd really be nice to have another way to fiind out (unless before the cruise - but even still, maybe there are those going that wont have any access prior to the cruise even..)

Packing in my head.... but every day I get a little closer. It's just so hard to stop watching Twilight Zone. :wizard:

We did the white board FE -- which leaves us more room for other goodies (like my Starbucks Vias and a pitcher for making Crystal Light). ;)

Went to San Pedro today to watch the Norwegian Star depart -- we'll be passing them in the Atlantic.

we just have a few more things to get at Target and Best Buy ... then we can put an end to the shopping!

Luggage-wise we are taking two large suitcases, two smaller suitcases DH's backpack, my Castaway Cay bag carryon and a purse (plus a scrunched up smaller bag to take when needed).

Well we are finally underway. Packing was a nightmare. We kept weighing and reshuffling bags and couldn't get 5 bags under 50 lbs each so we bit the bullet and added another bag.

When we got to the airport we decided to "pre-weigh them one more time while we waited in line on the scale they generously provided. Lo and behold, 2 of them were still overweight. So we became this crazed tourists you always see this time of year. You know the ones! They're snapping at each other and blaming everyone for bringing too much stuff, all the while trying to discreetly move their unmentionables from one bag to another. In our case we ripped one of the bags completely trying to cram in one more thing! We finally got to the counter where they "officially" weigh the bags only to find that all 6 bags were at least 10 pounds UNDERWEIGHT!! sigh ...

Made it through security without incident but ended up in the dreaded Zone 4 for boarding; the lAst ones on the plane except for the young couple with 3 kids under age 3, all in strollers and all screaming. Of course they errr seated directly behind us but er didn't notice tight away because we were too busy arguing with the flight attendant who was trying to wrestle our bags from us and check them! Check my FE gifts? Not on your life!

Someone again we do the breakdown boogie and finally find a bag she agrees we cab keep so I loaded them all in there and off goes my bag to neverland.

But that's okay, all 3 toddlers behind us are at least screaming in tune , and that ambien is gonna kick in now any minute

Oh wait, here comes the flight attendant to tell us she "thinks" the luggage tag she found on the floor is the one she list bringing bAck our boarding stub hmmm I guess we won't be taking full advantage of dme's service this time.

But it's all okay! We're going to wdw and on a Disney cruise!

Well going to seelp now before my last day at work and it is going to be a doozy. 16 hours. 7AM till midnight but then all done for 21 days. If by some chance any of you are flying through terminal 1 at LAX today say hi.

How many suitcases is everyone bringing? We dont have to pay for bags, so we can check up to 2 each, but I'm hoping to get away with 3 between the 2 of us, although nearly one whole bag will be taken up with FE gifts! How about everyone else?

Unfortunately I don't understand the concept of packing light, it just isn't in my vocabulary!!!;) So, for 2 of us we have 2 big suitcases, one slightly smaller, a garment bag and 2 carry ons.. I am dreading weighing them later today!!!

Well you will be there now so hopefully you have survived and so have the toddlers behind!!!! We have a 9 or so hour flight so I hope we don't get the dreaded seat kicker or screamer behind us!!

We always take our own bags with us on DME. They don't send the tags over to the UK, so we can either take our own bags, or leave the our baggage receipt with them for them to go search for and find our bags. I don't fancy that idea. At least we have them with us when we get to the hotel.

I think I might be packing lighter than Mike (DH), which is amazing since he travels all over the world for work with one suitcase or less because he often has to schlep some of his needed "work materials" in a suitcase or more!

That being said- we have one large (not huge) case for hanging clothes and extras (his garment bag we both love needs to be replaced and the replacement just wasn't in the budget right now) and 2 slightly smaller but still big suitcases. We'll each have a "plane bag" mines a "school bag" size backpack, his is a roller (he uses it all the time for work) and is 1/2 the size of a rolling carry- on bag. I believe we could have another bag fly free as he is in the "platnium club" for United but it's not worth lugging it elsewhere.

Everything is packed except the last minute stuff (running shoes, phone chargers ect)

Well we have weighed all our bags, and if everything could be evenly spread we would be just fine:thumbsup2, but :sad2:, 2 bags are smaller and are difficult to get up to the 50lb, and 1 is a larger bag and far too easy to go over!!!:headache: Hopefully we have moved enough things to be ok.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

We have a couple of dragons that travel with us. They LOVE to fly, especially when we get upgraded.

COOL! Maybe you could bring them when we have the "Stuffies" meet? Info will be posted on the whiteboard outside 7063 once the schedule for "adults" in the kids club has been announced.

Orlando area residents....

Need a recommendation for a camera shop near WDW that carry good quality camera products.

As my DH was packing his camera he realized he forgot to buy a polarizing filter. We leave in the morning early and our only opportunity will be in FL. He is so upset with himself for forgetting. We will be in Phoenix tomorrow and he has already called all of the shops there and they are not open on Sunday. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. If this is all we forgot I don't think it's so bad, but then I have a point and shoot not a DSLR. :confused3

There's a Best Buy at Florida mall, or a Ritz on Orange Blossom Trail if you're driving.

I don't think so - but you can gather the information off the "who's going" page on the cruise website.

I've asked the trip leader (Tinkerbel129) to also post meet information on the whiteboard outside her stateroom door. 7116

5.50 am

4 checked bags, one carry on, plus computer bag and camera bag.

We leave for the airport in just over half an hour. Rain is pouring down outsite (yuk!) - I don't like flying at the best of times, but its going to be bumpy today!

Change in Dallas then onto Orlando. See you all soon!

Safe travels - and to anyone else heading out today as well!

Only four more 'sleeps' and we will be on the ship! I can't wait to catch up with those I know and meet the rest of you.

Yes, I do. Anyone who wants it just send me a PM by Monday. We leave Tuesday. I believe it is the one Melissa is using for the program. I took Nicole's list from November and kept it updated, put it in room order, split the kids into boy/girl and divided into age groups 0-3, 4-9, 10-13, and teens, and color-coded it.

Yeah MARY! Good job!

Alan, is there a way for a non-Southwest employee to guestimate how full a flight is?
