From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

A couple of questions. Please forgive me if these have already been answerered:

1) Is there a date/time for the PJ breakfast? I know it was discussed a couple of days ago and if a date/time was listed, I can't find it.

2) I know the date/time to start the room tour was listed and that the start times are staggered. But, how long do we hang around our rooms before moving on to see rooms that start after ours? Not that that many people would be interested in seeing an inside room, but I would hate it if I left to go see the suites and someone came later to see my spectacular 11A :lmao:

THANKS!

Carmen - Here is what I was thinking - At 3:00 go and see the rooms on deck 1 & 2. At 3:15 open your room for 30 minutes - or until there is no one waiting to see it - whichever comes first. (My husband and I took turns staying in the room while the other viewed rooms.) Then, go on to view the rooms on deck 7 & 8. Some of the categories you may have missed on deck 5 or 6 (yours) may be open on those. I didn't decline duplications of categories because my thought was this way there would be a better chance of everyone getting to see the different categories. Don't know if I explained this as well as I should have. Maybe someone else could.

Hope this works. We'll adjust if we have to.

We can still print namtags if anyone wants them! The deadline is midninght tonight (Saturday) ok? Just pm your names and Disboard name to me and I'll get them made---I've put the ones already made in envelopes with the Disboard names and cabin numbers on them so if you don't find me in the terminal before boarding I'll leave them on your fish outside of your cabin.

Oh you wonderful people and your well-wishes and pixie dust----it really worked!!!!!!! Ok, and maybe the vet opening him up and removing his spleen worked too:-)

Our best guess is that on Monday night, our other corgi Cera ran into him really hard---so hard that his spleen ended up bleeding. Nothing else was effected. The emergency vet was such a downer about him and we were ready to give up but we called our breeder and she had us take him to her vet for a second opinion---and what a good thing we did! Thank goodness for caring/involved breeders---especially after 13 years! And for competent surgeon vets!

Right now Bandit is resting---25 stitches on his belly, stitches on his thigh where a wart was removed, clean teeth, and wearing a really cute tee shirt---he hates wearing anything---but he must keep the area clean. We'll drop him off at the breeder's house tomorrow and she will have to deal with the post-op stuff. I hope to check in with her often through email while on the cruise.

Now I must start packing!!!!!!!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hooray!

So glad Bandit is OK.

So glad to hear Bandit is doing well. You can go off with your mind at rest. I am sure you know, but thought I'd mention for all of you pet lovers, yesterday my vet took the name and number of my pet sitter. Also a written statement, that I authorize the sitter to approve vet services. We spoke about what I would want her to do (life saving measures). She suggests I give the sitter a copy of a similar letter in the event she ever needed to take him to an after hours emergency hospital.

Here is some Pixie Dust for you while you wait for your dd!:wizard: I know how you feel. Six hours can be a very long time during those circumstances.
Thank you so much! Trying to pass the time working on computer stuff for the cruise. It is helping make the time go by faster!

Oh, such good news! As a family that includes 3 canine members, we understand just how important they are to people's lives.

Okay, sounds good. You may have posted leaving the room open for 30 minutes and I just missed it so thanks for clearing it up for me. I haven't been on here as much as I would have liked over the fast several weeks so I probably missed a lot.

Thanks for the offer but our lanyard pouches are portrait instead of landscape. That is one of the things I'm working on now, trying to get a decent looking nametag that fits. If I get it worked out and there is anyone else in need of portrait tags, I'll post on here that I can make it. :goodvibes

I'm losing my mind!!!
Thanks to DCL's last minute room assignments, I have been frantically trying to update everything (along with helping DD finish her Independant Study for her time off) and I screwed something up. I awoke early this morning to finish, but before I got up I checked my email on my phone. While I was checking, my phone slipped and I dropped it. As it was falling, my thumb hit the "delete" button on an email that I REALLY needed...someone sent me a list of something, and I cannot remember WHO sent it or WHAT it was about!!! I have names and dates swimming in my mind so I'm not sure what I am missing.
Please help me!! If you sent me an email (not PM) in the last two days that included a list to something, can you resend it? Mary and Susan, it is not the FE or B-day lists...I have those =0)

Thanks so much!
Melissa

That is awesome news! I have been thinking a lot about Bandit and hoping all was well.

You can file ours away for fish delivery as we will not be in the terminal early. I will be in the PL at 3:00 though if that is easier.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fun time last night - pretty quiet here but nothing wrong with that.

I am so glad that Bandit is better and that you don't have to worry about him on the cruise.

I'll put you into either the 11th or 13th.

I too am concerned about the $5 charge. Apparently most of DCL is going to be at the DREAM on Monday so I don't expect to hear from any one but I am trying to reconfirm what we get for $5. I asked for a demonstration on how they make the drinks of the day, and maybe info on how they come up with the names. Also, tastings with one full drink - this can't be only $5. So, I have asked for confirmation - will not hold my breath, may need to find out when I get onboard. My plan C -For less then $10 more, those of you who want can order a drink of the day, stay in the lounge and have our hawaiian shirt contest - we'll make our own fun. As I use to tell my systems developement team - we didn't fail - we just redefined success.

Personally I am happy with a $15 charge. This seminar was so much fun on the WBTA that I happily would pay a bit more than that even.

I'm so pleased to hear the news, and you can relax knowing he will be well cared for when you are away too.

At the risk of sounding cheap, we really like the wine we bring with us on-board, plus I have a cellar full of it (when the big EQ comes I won't be needing just water). What we do is bring a glass with us from our room to the table. They don't know if we've just come from the lounge with our unfinished glass, no one ever says anything to us.

But, we have also brought a bottle to the table, and the corkage fee is now $18.

We do the same thing! =)

We are bringing a case of wine with us.

Does anyone know where and when the Cabo Whale Watching (DIS) tour is meeting??
The meet time and location will be posted on page 1 in post 3 when it has been decided

YEAH for competent vets and pixie dust!

Just realized my Disney Rewards card expired (but not my points :)) Will be @ POP Century Wednesday PM - where to go; i.e, which park entrance area to get new card & points loaded or just go to downtown disney? Do guest services have open/close hrs. different than park hours? We are not going into any parks; just staying @ POP then onto DCL bus Thursday AM. thanks

DOWNTOWN Disney or any other guest services booth at a park. I'd go Downtown to the Marketplace. It's torture to go to a park guest services and not be able to go in!

Yay for bandit!!

Safe travels for those beginning their travels!!

I am doing laundry and packing today. I think I finally have the shopping done. May have to exchange tennis shoes I bought DD3 but I can't get her to try them on.....

My brain is tired from thinking about where to put stuff we are unpacking into the new house and what I still need to find and pack up for our trip!:upsidedow

Still need to call CC company.

 & pixiedust: to you - it WILL all get done and work out as it should. The multi-tasking is not helping anything either I imagine.

This is my last post until next time I have computer access - probably Sunday at the Contemporary. Safe travels to all.

Hi there!

I have a friend who is coming on this cruise. He's a non DISer, but has sailed DCL before & is traveling solo. I'm looking to see if I can link him up with someone for dinners....anyone interested? If so, please pm me :)

Thanks!

To be fair on the emergency vet ,they do have lots of experiance in this and was probably trying to be truthful with you, better that than give false hope:upsidedow, spleen trouble is usually not good, they all try in there own way I suppose.
Good luck with the packing.

just checking how people are getting to hotels post cruise, those staying around disney. We are staying at homewood suites and plan on doing the parks. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Cindy
