From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

Did I miss the list of what films are showing on the cruise? Where can I find it?

I had the list scribbled on a paper towel and dd did not realize what it was, understandable, with my shorthand mix and she threw it away before I got to post it, I can remember Up, Tangeled, Tron & from there I am lost because I was hoping for Narnia and it was not on the list.

I know someone mentioned before, but Narnia isn't Disney anymore that's why it won't be shown on the ship. I believe Fox made the new one.

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS UPDATE – Calling all Champagne Girls and Wanna-bes (all are welcome)
How it Works: Ladies wear pink boas and tiaras and enjoy conversation and beverages, especially champagne. The meeting is held on a sea day in the afternoon. Panama Canal Champagne Girls Celebration - The PC cruise ladies have voted for an organized tasting but, if this is not possible, will meet on our own. Of course the event will be captured for posterity, by a photographer from Shutters and/or our own. DCL Request Department representative, Dorothy Ednie, has advised that our reputation precedes us and that she has scheduled Champagne Girls events before. She anticipates the cost per person will be about $15. I have sent her a count of 51 as the number of ladies who have indicated they will attend.

Update: Dorothy, of DCL, who handles the special events scheduling for our cruise is out of the office until 12-21-10.

The following ladies are packing their pink boas and tiaras in anticipation of confabulation and libations, especially champagne, and of course amazing merrymaking. While I will not be sending any participant specific information to DCL until I get the final confirmation and post the info, giving you a opportunity to change or rescind your request.

Question?

Anyone know the dining rotation yet? Concierge people? On the WBTA we were able to get it two months out and it only changed once. However, at three weeks out I think it was final.

Sitting here at the computer waiting to check my DH into Southwest. He's business select so I don't know why he cares about it being right at the hour...oh, well, gives me a chance to peruse the board and think of questions.

New, fish extender list with printer friendly goodness.

Again, don't feel a need to print this out, as I'll keep copies available on board once the list is fine tuned, but if you are one of those anal retentive people, go right ahead :)

It's sorted from low to high so you can just walk right along the port hallway, then once you get to the back of the boat, start from the bottom up for starboard (Its an incredibly insane exercise in programming to make it work so that it would just be a loop. I could do it, but it probably would take me a couple hours to write the custom sort.)

Jeff, thanks for this but I was talking about the three dining rotations and the rotation of the restaurants. Sorry I wasn't clear. It's handy to have since they don't (or at least didn't on our last cruise) put it on your card. I printed it, marked which rotation was mine and posted on my mirror. Just a handy thing to have but no worries.

One other thing about the Tutto luggage. It has four wheels and I was able to stack three suitcases and wheel away thru the airports, etc without getting a cart or porter. Can you tell I really like my luggage??? And I think it holds more than my traditional one.

Okay, I'm off to work on my FEs. Got DH checked in...he's A01...so he should be happy. :yay::yay::yay:

Mixology and Hawaiian Shirt Contest Update
How It Works: Are you interested in a private DCL mixology tasting? Learn all about how those colorful drinks of the day are made and just who gets to name them. For some additional fun, we’ll have a Hawaiian Shirt Contest, seems to go with all those little paper umbrellas and tropical fruit.

Update: Dorothy, DCL special events scheduler is out of the office until 12-21-10.

Thank you to those who have sent me the information DCL is requested Mahalo

Little Known Christmas Fact
Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip...but there were problems everywhere.
Four of his elves were sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More Stress. Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys. So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee and a shot of whiskey. When he went to the cupboard, he found the elves had hidden the liquor and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the he kitchen floor.

He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from.

Just then the doorbell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door. He opened the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said: "Where would you like to put this tree Santa?"

And that my friends, is how the little angel came to be on top of the Christmas tree.

I am so glad you enjoyed the movie. I may just have to go before we cruise; however :laundy:is really calling my name loudly right now! Going to make some potato chip cookies today and we have Liz's Christmas party tonight. I want to get to Curves but have to wait for FedX to deliver big package for my SIL so that is my priority today.

Go see it in-between loads of laundry. Oh and thanks for the pin. I am sure I will enjoy it.

one other reminder about using your credit card on the trip. Most cards will post an additional transaction fee for using the card outside of the US, just like they do when you are in Europe. My Chase Disney card will charge a 3% transaction fee. I only know of one, Capital One, that doesn't charge a fee. My credit union card has a 1%. So - for those of you who love the International Diamond Stores - it is worth looking into before you go. For those of us who only bring home postcards and magnets - no big deal.

I have read, here and on other sites, that they are no longer accepting US dollars in Mexico. Perhaps this is true in some places, but my TA (who is my sister) just came back from a Princess cruise to Mexico and she said she had no problem with paying with dollars last week.

The Virgin Atlantic Amex Card does not charge a transaction fee. :cool1:

That was soooo useful in Europe. (Apart from the places that would only accept the UK's "Chip & Pin" cards Arghhh!)

We got travlers checks hoping that would work:confused3
Ok, I lied. It took me a little bit of thinking about the problem, but I solved it. For those of you that care about SQL, here's the mathematically beautiful solution for Deck 8.

(select stateroom-9000 AS sort_col1, stateroom from staterooms where fishextender='1' and stateroom like '8%' and stateroom < '8200') UNION (select 9000-stateroom AS sort_col1, stateroom from staterooms where fishextender='1' and stateroom like '8%' and stateroom >= '8200') order by sort_col1

So now, the Fish list is by deck and you can just walk down one side and then back up the other with the same list. Enjoy.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work on this! The list looks great!:)

The packing is in motion although it is all just strung all over the house :scared1::scared1:. Drew gets home from school tomorrow so I need to get his bed cleared off - it has been my stash spot. My goal is to get our dinner and cruise specific stuff in the largest of our bags and get that done tonight. DH's 'stuff' is all out and ready to be folded and put in. Mine stuff, on the other had is all mixed up with day wear so I have work to do on that front. Going to be a busy night.

I know what you mean! My DD18 comes home this weekend and I have her bed full of clothes. Guess I better work on that tonight! :goodvibes

Its FRIDAY.............. 3 more night and 2 days to work then 8 mights off.
:cool1::cool1::cool1:
I got the train to work and couldnt resist going to look at the xmas lights.

Edinburgh is so so so pretty near christmas time.(as opposed to all other times when its just the coolest city ever:thumbsup2)
