From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

We were talking about doing laundry last night, well I have a question for the group. Has any used the Shout Color Catcher? Have you put red clothes with whites? How about blue jeans with yellow nylon nightgown? Who would be willing to do it on purpose? Every time I see the commercial for that product I wish I had the guts to try it. It doesn't address the issue of different water temps or use of bleach.

I use the Shout Color Catchers, in fact I just packed some for the cruise. BUT I'm not sure if I would put a new red item in with whites or new blue jeans with yellow nightgown. I have used it on mixed loads, just not dark colors that have never been washed before, with light colors. I do like them!!:hippie:

Holly: Soooo close. I've got my pills counted, paperbacks selected, and batteries charged. I wait till the end to fold my shirts and slacks.

Don't tell Valerie I wrote this, because she threatened to take away my birthday, but: It's not just "chatty," it's all the endless duplication! I've seen a 12-inch long photo copied by a dozen people who then write, "haha" and others who quote five long messages with one-liner observations.

And at the end are seven dancing emoticons, six count-down calendars, five go -- old riiiiings!, two photos of pets in Mickey costumes, and every time they've been to a Disney property.

THAT's what takes 45 pages (about 450 screensful) of blather to sort through. When I want to respond (as I did with yours), I cut out the part not being commented on and ... put in elipses....

Not that I can keep it to 12 words when 120 will do.

bob

I am on the netbook while Bob is on the main computer. I guess it is a grumpy guy thing. We like the cute icons, don't read it if it bothers you. Not on this thread but on others I have seen people quote with the 3 pages of photos multiple times which makes for many pages to scan through but no big deal. Jeez - I let him buy that butt ugly tree topper so what is his gripe about????

HELP

I haven't not heard back from DCL regarding the date, time and location for the Champagne Girls and Mixology sessions. They confirmed $18 per person per event and that they would do them.

I would assume the earliest I might hear back is Monday. I know many of those signed-up will not have a chance to opt-out if they don't like the schedule before they leave for travel. Do I give DCL the list, as I have it, and let them issue tickets and post the charge?

IS THERE ANYONE WHO DOESN'T WANT ME TO DO THIS AND WANTS THEIR NAME TAKEN OFF?

I think I have been very patient, sent a note once a week, called only once. I don't think this is very fair. In September they told me they would start working on the January schedule in November. This Monday they said they would have the arrangement finalized by last Tuesday. I explained I was holding off planning the schedule for the room tour and other people had things on hold because we were waiting on them. This is just not right.

Your thoughts?

We're still in. Thank you for all your hard work.

I'm so weird about this...I really like the borders DCL puts around the photos, so I buy the photo package (which you can find on the website) so that I can get the individual photos since the CD doesn't include the borders. I know, CRAZY!!!

~Melissa
I like the borders too and will still buy a few, but I love having all of my pictures on the CD and it saved me endless hours standing around shutters trying to decide which ones to buy. They're easier to throw away if you've got them on the CD "just in case" you change your mind!:rotfl::rotfl:

Our shuttle arrives to pick us up for the airport in 24 hours...

P.S. to self: Never, never, never, never, never, never laugh at those who are completely packed for a cruise six months ahead of time.

LOL, this will totally be me too. I've got soooo much to do. Good luck, safe travels and next time shoot for being packed 6 hours ahead of time :lmao:

I have a question, do any of you take wine onboard for dinner? If so do you know what the corking fee is?

At the risk of sounding cheap, we really like the wine we bring with us on-board, plus I have a cellar full of it (when the big EQ comes I won't be needing just water). What we do is bring a glass with us from our room to the table. They don't know if we've just come from the lounge with our unfinished glass, no one ever says anything to us.

But, we have also brought a bottle to the table, and the corkage fee is now $18.

To all of you - Happy New Year - Val & Bob

Happy 2011 everyone! Val and Bob, we're still in for the CG and Mixology. I'll have to check our schedules and let you know which works best for us. I'll PM you tomorrow.
Night all,
tenya

Wine M&G

There is no charge from the cruise line for this event, however I will be paying the corkage fee and for wine and cheese platters. I'd *appreciate* if people kicked back $10 pp but if you really can't let me know and we'll do what we can. If it turns out that we manage to keep some of the bottles off the bill, I'll figure out how to resolve the balance if I end up positive.

Jeff, "IF" it ends up positive - you & your wife get a few beers or ?? for all your hard work!!
I know everyone would agree to that.
All in favor say "aye"

Here's to a WONDERful 2011.
See y'all real soon!

We buy one of those wine boxes and we fill our glasses up before we go to dinner. We walk in the dining room with it. We never had a problem.

Happy 2011

SERIOUSLY on semi formal night can DH just wear a button down shirt instead of a polo??? no jacket?

I've always worn my suit:confused3 but I have a tendency to overdress and remember the days when Palo was advertised as coats preferred. There will be plenty of people I'm sure just in button downs and kahkis or slacks...if he's really worried throw a tie around the nec:wizard:and it's semi-formal

I think pretty much anything goes, so I'm sure that will be fine.

On the other hand, I'm making DH wear his tux for all "dress up" nights because we never go out fancy otherwise. Plus, DS loves getting dressed up all fancy. He's just barely 6 but it started when he was 4. He'll come home from school and put on his tux (old one that we got him for last cruise 2+ years ago) and a tie to play. So if I didn't, he would insist we get dressed up on formal and semi formal nights. :rotfl:

That's awesome! I promise you he'll never forget having it and he'll reach a point where he'll want one again as a young adult...:rolleyes1 err...I swear to you there will be no pictures of me in a tux for my second grade pictures or for christmas and easter my third and fourth grade years...:goodvibes

Happy January 1st! Can you believe it. The cruise is days away....omg!

We partied til midnight thirty and it is now time to retire so we can pack tomorrow. DH wore his 'See ya Jimmy' hat and I wore my tiara tonight. What a couple we made!
