ROOM TOUR UPDATE
How it works: Cruisers volunteer to let others visit their cabin and see what the different categories are like. So, on a sea day, at an established time, (final time set after other event times are published) starting on the lowest deck, we visit the different categories of cabins. It is great fun to parade down the halls meeting each other and getting a real look at those rooms we all take only a quick peek into as we pass an open door. Additionally, it allows us to share cabin living ideas.

We are stilling looking for cabins in the following categories to be included in the tour. PM if you are willing to allow us to tour.
T Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah
4E Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
6A Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
9C Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom
9D Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom
11C Standard Inside Stateroom

Update: In an attempt to manage the length of the tour and allow those opening their cabins to visit the other rooms, we are going to assign a scheduled time not just to the beginning and end of the tour but when each deck will be visited. Here is the breakdown of the number of rooms currently on each deck and time we will allocate on the deck. Once we hear from DCL regarding the tastings and other events scheduled we will select a time for the tour, most likely the early afternoon on a sea day. In addition to posting the information here I will have the room schedule and tour times available in my FE outside room 6572.

Just checking in. Jeff and I are here, but we played hooky today and went to the Harry Potter park at IoA. Butterbeer is good, but I couldn't drink a lot of it. The "big ride" is awesome, the queue is the show tho (it makes ANYTHING Disney has ever done for a queue look preschool). I got picked to have a wand pick me at Ollivanders (that was very cool - the first wand and I didn't get along, almost blew up the place).
Back to school stuff. I'll be done this weekend and will start working on everything.

We arrived here about 5 pm. I am so glad that the drive down is over. Now to dust and clean the house that has been empty for over 6 months.

Val, I am so sorry about your kitty. I hope they can make him feel better and get so weight back on him.

It's getting closer and closer to our much needed vacation :cool1::cool1::cool1: I still can't find a lot of time to play on here with you all. We haven't received our docs yet either. I am doing my best to get Christmas presents bought this weekend---and hopefully find a new tree. i just don't want to put up our big tree this year.

Hope everyone has a great weekend:)

Yesterday we took our cat to the vets because he has been dropping weight. I had brought him in in October and they said he was fine. Yesterday they said he hadn't lost that much but agreed he had gotten real bony fast. They told me they thought it was thyroid since he is fine accept for some vomiting and the weight issue. The new young vet just called to say it isn't thyroid. She thinks it is lymphoma and wants us in tomorrow to do a sonagram.

I feel so sad, I've had him 10 years and he is such a dear. I don't want him to go through anything painful, especially if there is little hope. I am a strong believer that if you assume responsibility for a pet you have to take responsibility completely, not just when it is convenient to do so. Do I cancel the trip and start him on chemo? I guess I just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

There is always something. val

I certainly hope that you are able to find out what is happening with the poor little love. I completely understand how you feel. Sending you lots of positive thoughts!

Still no cruise docs. Got an email response from DU she says Disney mailed the docs to me on Nov 22!!! Calling Disney now.

On another completely different note, I need some therapy from you all. My kids all of them are having financial difficulties, this was a bad year for us medically/financially, wedding expenses and cruise expenses. I am going thru a bit of depression now, feeling like I dont deserve to go on this cruise since the kids are having trouble. Now they are hurting, sets of kids are living in houses we bought and not paying us, so they have roofs over their heads and have food. Is it just the holiday stress that is freaking me out? Help

No docs here either.

They have roofs over their head and they have food. Sounds like at least some of that is your doing. You're allowed to have a life also. You can't help others if you don't take care of yourself also.

Can't believe how close we are!

Don't have the docs yet (they are coming via our TA, so we should get them soon). I'm also waiting for our DME vouchers... but I'm sure they will be here next week

Moving Monday (at last)! And I have a large box labeled "Disney Cruise."

Can't wait to meet you all in person! :wizard:

Val, sorry to hear about your kitty, I hope you hear some better news tomorrow or at least find out what you're dealing with. Sometimes the not knowing is the hardest part.

Well I know Susan Eagan will be performing. That is fact. I too hope John Charles is on. I love what he does to the America song, The Horse With No Name. It is absoultly hilarious.

I sent a message to Jeff Civillico. He doesn't know if he is on our cruise yet, but he is on the Magic @ New Year's, and the Dream on two January cruises. Here's hoping! We love him!

I hope the news is batter than you might be thinking. Poor little thing.

NO Val, please dont start him on chemo, it only delays the enevitable.
I am so sorry they suspect he has this horrible disease, trust me he would not thankyou for being left at the vets and stuck with needles, My cat had lymphoma, its not nice at the end, wish I had let dear Patsycat go sooner(and I am pretty brave re making horrible decisions) do what you must as long as it doesnt involvee lots of needles and being left in the vets:grouphug:
please let us know how it is going.

I'm glad you are here to offer Val advice Lynne. It is so hard when you love your pets. Years ago when there was nothing you could do there was no choice but to let the pet go, but these days with the advent of very expensive treatments we feel we have to spend huge amounts of money, and like you said, sometimes it only delays the inevitable. Tough though.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Just a reminder for anyone who's interested

Everyone would make a 2 page 12x12 spread (for yourself) and bring it with you to show off and for others to get ideas from, also take a picture and print out a copy for each person participating. Then just bring enough of all of the things you used: stickers, titles, mats, photo corners, tags, and the paper of course etc for each participant. This way people can re-create the page you made using the photo as a guide, or if they prefer a slightly different style or size book they could use the supplies as they see fit. Everything except for the paper would fit into ziplock bags easily so the "kits" would be easy to pass out.

I'm thinking we would do it on a sea day sometime after Aruba because I know there's that Walmart there and if anyone wanted maybe they could even print a few pics to work with. Then we could meet up somewhere and show off our pages we made and pass out the "kits" we are trading. Then if people want to stay and work and talk they can but if some are busy they can just trade and go. I have a DCL punch and maybe a few other things I could bring for people to use if they want to.

Please let me know if you are intereted and which port/theme you would like, remember it's first come first served on the choices and a PM with Scrapbook in the subject line. Embarktion Day/Port Canaveral
Lifeboat Drill
Castaway Cay
Aruba
Panama Canal
Puntarenas
Manzanillo
Puerto Vallarta
Cabo San Lucas
Debarktion Day/Port of LA
Day at Sea
Pirate Night
Golden Mickeys
Prince & Princess
Mexicali
Captain's Gala
Animator's Palate
Parrot Cay
Tritons

Sure wish I could participate in this - I'm a rabid scrapbooker. But realistically, in 30 days, with Christmas and houseguests in between, do I think I could get anything done? NO! So I have to regretfully step away from this activity.

:hug:Oh, Val! I HOPE it's not what they think! My heart goes out to you. It's just horrible.

We had to go through something similar with our Lion. In the end, the added time we bought with him was more for us than for him. He was just "enduring" and in the end we had to let him go anyway.

NO Val, please dont start him on chemo, it only delays the enevitable.

Thank you for being here for Val and other pet owners, Lynne.

No docs yet. So today I shall go to the gym and work on divesting myself of another pound or two. Make meals, tidy up after trimming the house. Cards are done and out the door. Packages are wrapped and labeled. Start cleaning guest room for the holiday visitors.

Happy Day, all!

Its mad we got them in scotland first!
You sound like a super orginized person, maybe if I hang with you it will rub off on me.
Have a good workout, I cant wait to get back to the gym, I cant hardly walk with all the snow, never mind run and the car park is unparkable with the piles of snow even if I didnt have the cold,:headache:
I was reduced to doing a pilates abdo dvd yesterday for some excerise, now when I cough I have to hold my stomach:lmao:

I know I am pages behind, and if I can read and ride without getting sick I will do just that as we are leaving at 4:00am tomorrow for South Carolina. My son is driving and he is never on time. I will pick him up and plan to drive to Fairmont, WV. We have two stops to make there at the cemtery and maybe he will be awake and take over. It is a good 10 to 12 hour drive and depending on Jasmine....well, need I say more. She is a good traveler, but she has not had a long car ride for quite a while. She is used to flying!

Now for the real challange of finish packing and fitting it in the car:scared1:

I got a call from Disney yesterday to cancel a shore excursion in Puntarenas. They had a bad storm that took out a bridge and we can't get to the cable car. So we rebooked the tropical cruise & cultural experience. No documents yet, just the Magical Express.

I planned the South Caolina trip around the final football championship which may now never happen. We our in the courts and national news as the team we played last week used ineligible players and took it to court to let them play anyway. It is a big mess and the championship is postponed. Might never take place!:headache: It has really been a nerve racking week to say the least! Five hours in court Monday with no results and then our attorney had to file the injunction to stop the game because the judge who should never have been in it from the get go said she would not change her ruling. How does she stand above the law? The supreme court has it now. Our boys have permission from the state to continue practicing and they are, so only time will tell, but I won't see!:sad2:

Talk to you from South Carolina soon!

So sorry Val. It is terrible to have a sick pet. We have two biggish dogs who are 12, which is old for a big dog. We have already decided we are not going to do anything that would make them upset, like having to go to the vet a lot.
The problem with pets vs people is the pet can't understand why it is going thru all the treatment. I used to work at a pet hospital when I was in high school-was going to be a vet, or so I thought, how I wound up an OB/GYN, I am not quite sure, but I digress. Anyway, the vet I worked for tried to steer pet owners in the right direction, but a lot of the time they couldn't let go and it just prolonged the inevitable. I hope it turns out to be something easily fixable. If not, make him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible and love him to pieces for whatever time you have left. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mylinda

I had a nice lunch with Tinksmom yesterday to pick up my bracelets. The bracelets are awesome! I so enjoyed meeting you Tenya and your daughter. You gave me a few good ideas about the trip, Thank you so much.

Val, I have you and your cat in my prayers. I am so sorry to here about the cat. I hope all turns out well for you.

PUNTARENAS, COSTA RICA TOURS UPDATE
03.jpg

Ride in an air-conditioned spacious vehicle, being driven by an experienced driver, to Costa Rica’s most popular national park, Manuel Antonio, where our private nature guide will give us a narrative of the geologic features, national history, local botany, as well as exotic tropical birds, monkeys and sloths we will see. Guide will provide books, binoculars and a spotting scope we can share during our tour

Then enjoy the Manuel Antonio beach, equally good for snorkeling, swimming and just laying on the beach before a lunch stop at a quality restaurant where we can choose among traditional Costa Rican favorites or more familiar foods, such as burgers and fries or sandwiches.

On the way back to the ship we will have an opportunity, if time permits, to stop at a number of photo opportunities and souvenir shopping spots. These might include Villa Lupas and Santa Lucia, an eco-friendly resort within a tranquil rain-forest preserve for nature lovers.

Oddessy has offered to provide us with two 34 seat buses for 14 to 22 passengers and two 16 seat vans for groups between 6 and 8 passengers, allowing ample room for a comfortable journey and movement to see animal sightings. Of course there will be driver and nature guide on each vehicle for the party going on it.

The cost of this full-day tour, with park entry fee and lunch included is $85 per person plus tip. Children under 8 years old receive 15% off, under age 3 are free. Oddessy Tours can now accept credit card payments.

The following 7 cruiser families and 22 individuals have indicated they will be joining us on this tour.
ChipperMerlin 2
Dolphingirl 47 2
Izma 2
PBader 4
Tami0220 2
Tinkryansmoms 8
ValBob 2
Update: I have sent an e-mail to Alvaro asking about the damage the recent tropical storm has had on his family, business, the park, beach and roads. I have also asked him to tell us what, if any, impact he anticipates this storm will have on our tour. Once I hear back from him I will let you know.
