ANd only 2 or 3 days ago they swapped all the nights around on the transatlantic and peeved a lot of folks off, swapped pirate night and formal nights around and all that, so then everybody wanted to swap rotations again

They really shouldn't mess with the plans once they have made them should they? We all said the first formal night was on the wrong night all along.

Oh that messes with people's PALO plans. I bet some folks are miffed!

Oh my some people were miffed indeed. We now have Palo dinner on the theme night which is a bit of a pain. As it happened i was only taking a purple t shirt and jewellery, but if I had gone to the expense of a special dress for villains night I would have been miffed.

Exactly, I think our cruise buddies that had concierge told us the rotations then we asked the travel agents to put us on whatever rotation they wanted, some folks were worried about what dining room they were in for formal night etc, it seems now we wre going to be in the same room for both formal nights I think which is annoying some peeps, I am not saying there concerns are unvalid it just doesnt really bother me as I have no palo bookings, I do have a fav dining room though that I want for my birthday on this cruise

Yes, nice to be in Lumieres on formal night, but once you sit down it is more about the people you are eating with. Parrot Cay is my least favourite restaurant, but I can cope. Pirate Night? I don't care where I eat. Actually I prefer Topsiders as I don't like the Pirate menu.

Now here is something funny, it is no secret how I feel about Pirate Night and the whole film series. For our new cruisers I will illustrate. When I was booked for this years WBTA I refused to join the meet thread because it was named after the Pirate that runied my vision of a Pirate and I even tried to start my own non Pirate thread. Anyway the Pirate menu I abosoultly love. It is by far the second most favorite for me behind Caprians Gala.

We actually haven't called yet. Eric must have been "assigned" to us and our gluttony of emails. I pretty much email Eric daily right now. Our emails are very clear and concise, but friendly. He already knows Jeff is a fellow cast member and to please tell us if we're ever being pushy or rude. But now we just ask for Eric when we email.

Yes but Alan, I hear you and I agree but looking at the big picture Im glad I never put the pirate themed thread put me off, I have met some amazing friends through that thread and god forbid I missed out on that chance just because the thread had pirate in the title.

Oh Lynne, dinner in Topsiders isn't a buffet. We love it there. All subdued lighting and calm,and table service apart from the salad bar. The salad bar is wonderful too. You can go just in your normal clothes, though I can't do that, I always clean up and change anyway. We have always had such lovely attentive servers there. I don't know why they serve there. I have read all sorts of things like trainees, people who need a bit of extra training etc. Whatever, they are very nice. Also the food has been fantastic. John had his best steak onboard there, and the first time I had a proper turkey dinner!! It is just nice if you don't fancy making a big effort for dinner or you fancy a night away from your table mates, or just because.

Oh we hardly have any pirate talk at all on the TA thread do we? I think the folk from the '07 Pirate thread just aren't as active on this. Yes, lots of Spanx and alcohol talk!!(Oh, and shoes and bags!)

Parrot Cay is actually my favorite rotational restaurant. I think they are all nice, but I like the Caribbean atmosphere.

Man, are DH and I UNobservant. This is only our 3rd cruise, but i could not tell there was a scheme to any rotation (of course our first 2 were 4 day and 7 day so there was no consistency) nor a set menu for anything. What's a pirate menu? what were some of the other nights themes? thanks!

LOL! How'd you miss the themes?
The pirate menu is the menu on pirate night. If you look at the navigators on the cruise website you can see the other themes...

My opinion exactly. Screw the sentimental side of this (Sorry if that seems a bit harsh, I don't mean it that way), but I'm looking forward to the horn battle.

Also, the website changes have been fast and furious over the last day or two. I'm trying to keep up with the cancellations and additions and I think the list itself is pretty current. I'm going to get started on the FE and SM stuff over the next week so that all appears on the website too. Please remember that if you are participating in FE, we will need your actual cabin number. You might not have it now, and that's ok, but we will need it. Let me get everything else cleaned up on the list and go from there. I had another huge website project drop in my lap, so I need to handle that as well, but I should have lots of time to keep our site current.

You are doing a awesome job and I know it is tons of work! I for one have appreciated everything that has been done by everyone to keep page one so helpful to all of us. Thank you so very much!!

I am stilll catching up on my reading, but just had to say THANK YOU!

The ones deploying? Okay right now, it's still a few months away. Amazingly, they are in the same state right now and not 3000 miles apart like they normally are. My one friend still might be going on the cruise with us (minus her DH) since she may need wrist surgery.
They are actually fine to deploy. Both have gone many times overseas (they actually met while overseas). Plus, they are medical people, so the risk of harm to them is less than a front line Marine. In some ways the both like going, it's an adventure (plus the bonus pay is sweet).

Yes,glad they are ok,we have friends in Kansas in the army, she is away on her final stint in Afg, she is a capt, she comes back then her husband goes, must be a diff way to live but they are great folks and tough tough tough.
My family are mostly in the navy, cousins, Len was too, at the Falklands, not any more obviously though, he works 5 mins from our house.

I was able to book transfers from the port to Paradise Pier Hotel in DL through DCL. I then booked 3 nights at the hotel and was able to get a 30% senior discount . I could not book transfers from the hotel to LAX because I did not book a package but I was told I could book the shuttle right at the hotel. This seemed the cheapest way to do it.

We are going from the ship to Paradise Pier Hotel for three days also. I think there are serveral of us doing the same.

I too hope we get to see the three ship together. When the Magic could not get into CC both the Magic and the Wonder were at Port Canaveral- there was an empty dock due to the gambling ship going out of business- and we went down to the port to see them leave. It was great - when the two ships were side by side the horns were blowing and passengers waving to each other- It was a site- and yes I did shed some tears- only a true Diseny person would understand.

Is anyone trying to arrange a Disboards tea or Brunch? I know there is a private room for around 15 people that can be used for this and if there is someone that can book early I think you can book the room

Welcome to all our new cruisers, and I'm sorry to all those who had ti cancel.

My son's chihuahua got grabbed by a coyote Tuesday. Fortuntally she will be Ok but has a broken neck. They are both umeployed so the bill if coming to us.

To top is off, DD wedding is next Sat, and I threw my back out last night in the shower. I have to make all the cakes and decorate the reception hall!When it rains it pours. At least cruise is paid for and I have somethi tmo look forward to. Pardon my typos as I am on pills for my bacl amd my hannds are shaking.

im praying the elk horn doggies come home or turn up soon.

Oh, my I am so sorry for your aching back and for your son's little dog. What a busy week you have coming up! Take care of yourself and I am sure the vet is taking good care of the dog.

It is just a different way of life that they know they have to accept I guess. We have friends from near Atlanta who we met at WDW a few years ago. Their DIL has just completed basic Marine training, combat training and is now on the job training(apologies for not using all the official terms as I can't remember them!!) So she and her husband have begun their time apart, but hopefully she will be in the US for a time working and her hubby can move to where she will be. Her husband also hopes to join too, so they could be in different places for longer in the future. I know they knew that was how it would be. Very hard though. They all have my respect.

I can't believe how quickly this cruise is coming and for most of us it has been almost a year since we booked it!

It is..I cry each time one gets adopted. I am just thankful they were rescued and will now have a wonderful home to be raised in.

I am afraid the dogs aren't back either but I keep hoping!
