GOOD Morning, happy Cruisers!

Already 77 degrees at 5 am. Actually, it was 77 degrees with 89% humidity when I got up at 4 am. Since when did Florida move to upstate NY?

Hey, that sounds like South Texas too! Actually when checking the forecast for tonight, I saw that it was 79 with 93% humidity at 1AM. It's hot and humid most days of the summer (which could last 4-5 months here) But hey, I'll take it over the cold any day. I don't do cold well :goodvibes

Anyway, we're going to see Aerosmith tonight. :woohoo: We're really looking forward to it

omgthat will be amazing, rock on.

Yes that is exactly why we LOVE LAX the nonstop redeye flights to Orlando.
For this trip we will be taking a nonstop redeye out of LAX on Jan 1st.......the perfect start to what is sure to be the BEST start to a new year!!!

If you're taking United for the red-eye, be sure to keep checking. Last month, the Goof half of GoofPrincess discovered that they had canceled the red-eye we were all taking out of LAX next month. United didn't bother to notify us of this — and gave really lame excuses for why not! GRRRRR! I just have my fingers crossed that USAir doesn't cancel their red-eye on 9/6!

We're taking Delta's red eye to Tampa and it still is showing....

It has been over 10 years since I have stayed in the Garden Wing. I love them. As a matter of fact this is the only place my parents would stay. On another note, looks line the new ticket prices will not affect us right now. The Premier Pass is staying at 700. I am happy about that.

Thanks - that's great feedback. I hear they've all been renovated since then (gotta have those flat screen TV's).

Ouch - I didn't think of that (though we aren't on that flight). That's the good thing about departing Jan 1st - plenty of extra days to get there. :cool2:

I can only say one thing about that - Thank heavens for SOUTHWEST!

We are taking Delta. I know everyone has their favorite airlines and some may not even like Delta but we have had NO problems with them in all the years we have been flying. When I played softball my team always flew with Delta and DELTA ONLY so when I had a family and we started traveling I did not think twice about what airline we would fly with.........
Delta for me has been great.....I get email alerts about fare specials and if anything changes with our flight it is sent to me via email.......
As I am typing this I am knocking HARD on WOOD........after all it is an airline and that means EVERYTHING is up in the air until you are..............:rotfl:

Another Delta flyer. We appreciate the email alerts about fare specials, never had a flight time cancelled or changed, but have been notified by email with new flight number. We have never had any problems, but you are correct, it is an airline and anything can happen. We are within easy driving distance, so getting on the ship is no problem. If our flight is changed or cancelled in LA, oh well, I guess we will just have to stay at DL another day or two until we can get a flight home.

I agree it's always good to have a back up plan AND it never hurts if your back up plan is DISNEYLAND!!!!!!:cutie:

Well we finally made our first payment since we placed our deposit down. So that is progress.

Hi EVERYONE!
So, I have to come up with 10 posts to make so I can send a PM to get my information added to the website saying that I'm going on the cruise! (YAY) I've been wanting to do this cruise since the first Magic crossing, and it's going to be really special for my family. My mom and aunt have only been on the Disney Wonder (two times) ever as a cruise. So the fact that we get to do this cruise and it's STILL the only ship they'll have been on is kind of neat. I've been listening to the podcasts a bit, and now surfing around the boards more now that I know I'm for sure going (just transferred to Vacation Club today!). I'm not sure where else to do a full introduction (It'll have to be one of my ten posts) but I will pass out here a couple of things: First Cruising with Corey and Julie are a ton of fun (he was at my parent's dinner table their first cruise, wonder if he'll remember me) and if anyone has questions about Great Movie Ride I'm your guy to ask! Have a great weekend everyone!

I can only say one thing about that - Thank heavens for SOUTHWEST!

I love Southwest - and was disappointed at the pricing for their Orlando flight when it came out. Ultimately for just a bit more than their pricing I was able to get a non-stop and the extra leg-room of Economy Plus.

But I do expect we'll book Southwest back to San Jose after the cruise. :cool2:

I love southwest, especially because of the baggage policy. Being a scuba diver going on longer cruises is not fun. No matter what I have at least 2 checked bags: My Suit Bag (own my tux), and my scuba gear...and what the heck is the point of living in Minnesota and owning scuba gear if it doesn't go with you on vacation? And then it's to hope I can pack a week or longer worth of clothes in a carry on. Yes the life of those of us who like to breathe underwater is rough...I'm so excited for all the different ports and opportunities!

omg, you have a full set of scuba gear that you TRAVEL with? wow... i'm a PADI scuba diver. i was debating getting my own wet suit and maybe just the rubber mouthpiece if possible (i'm slightly grossed out by knowing that those things get reused over and over and over again, but i don't think they sell them without the whole regulator set). i'm assuming you just rent tanks, but do you have everything else? i'm so excited to do some diving!

every big trip/job i go on, i get a new electronic toy. this time, i think i am going to get a new underwater digital camera for diving. do you have any suggestions? i'm hoping to keep it under $400 (which is still a LOT, but i'm looking for a starting point, you know?). i'm not a professional, but those cheap throw aways don't do it for divers, and i refuse to take my digital camera underwater in a case, i don't trust those. so i want to get a real dive camera. so excited! i got a few suggestions and found a few ideas with my own research, but wonder if you have any other ideas?

One more post to go...

Welcome Aboard!

Hi and welcome. You are going to love this cruise. We did in in 2008!!

Yean, they aren't required, but how stupid is that? It's a moving vehicle on a road. And with how cruddy people drive in Central Florida it scares the crud out of me. It's one thing on propery where you can't drive fast (although that's getting scarier with the increased stupidity of driving on property) but on the interstate? Holy cow!

Edinburgh is kinda mental:confused3
I love driving anywhere in USA:thumbsup2

If you think driving in the US is bad, we are in Naples at the moment - driving is insane. Totally and utterly. I have seen babies being held in front seats of cars, kids on mopeds with no helmets - all this with totally nutty driving going on. Mad, mad, mad!

Has there been any discussion about photo sharing after the cruise? Since I missed so much of the chatter in the last 2 threads I have no idea and no time to go back and check.

For the EB in 2008 we had a SmugMug account set up where everyone could share photos from the cruise, as well as pre-cruise meets and time spent in the parks before and after. I went through and downloaded hundreds of beautiful photos that others took - some that I missed myself, others that were better than the ones I took. And now I'm using lots of them as I try to finish scrapping that trip. (I'm hoping to be done with 2008 before we board 2011.)

Okay, so far, this is who we have:

RRBB
WeLuvDCL
LindaBabe
carmie3377
Tami0220
glindamood
poohs4me
sak0526
perdy1234
#1Yepod
DCL_FAN_TAC
JenKatt
tlungstrum
ACDSNY
LimoFam5
tinkryansmom
ChipperMerlin

Please let me know if I've missed anybody. I'll put a link in my signature and update this post as other request to join :goodvibes

In case you missed prior conversation, we will set up an account at most likely SmugMug to share pictures that we have taken. We will be able to upload our own pictures that we would like to share with others. Other participants can download these pictures if they have some that don't come out, forgot their camera for that special shot, or there are some simply better than the ones they took.

Love this idea and would love to participate.

The kids school used dotphoto.com last year to upload photos for the school yearbook.

One thing I have noticed about some photo sites is the ability to download is limited (perhaps one photo at a time). dotphoto allows you to download a page of photos at once, but perhaps something else out there is more flexible.

Still catching up on posts...

Heading to Rome later on today. Hope it will be more pleasant than Naples! :lmao: (though Vesuvius and Pompeii were interesting)

-Kay

Hi and welcome. You are going to love this cruise. We did in in 2008!!
I have to one up you, we did both 2005 and 2008 Westbound. Honestly we feel very lucky to have done it twice let alone a third time. This is going to be awesome. I can't wait.

Some people think they have done it and go on to something else, but it is just such a great cruise!!! Lots to see.
