 Yay, it's the weekend

What are your plans ? Are you doing anything fun this weekend ?

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you're up to :thumbsup2

Yay for the weekend. We are having absolutely wonderful weather here in the Houston area. However, DH has to leave for Atlanta today for a convention and won't be home until Tuesday :(. And it's DD's birthday today. She is not looking forward to her Daddy leaving. And yesterday was DS's birthday. Busy weekend in my house!

Enjoy the weekend and the weather. Sounds like a fun weekend what with all the birthdays.
Happy Birthday to both of them!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

We stayed at Radison in Jan before our Carnival Dream cruise. This time we are going to stay at the Residence Inn which is closer to the port and has a hertz rental car there.

You should be getting the new Premier Pass in the mail with an expiration date in January since you currently have both annual passes.

As of now there is no DVC discount so it's priced too high for us. We'll stick with the deluxe DL AP and WDW parkhopper tickets.

Thanks for letting us know that the new pass will be coming in the mail. I'll be on the lookout for it. Anyone know how long it will take before it arrives?

I sent an email to DVC regarding the discounts, so will post when I hear back.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We got 1/2 inch of rain yesterday afternoon, so the sunshine is very nice. Even did a little yard work. Still "messing about" with pins from this past weekend's trip to WDW.

You get all the discounts a priemum pass would give you at the resort you are at. If you are talking about a discount in the price of the pass, there is none, and personaly I don't think there needs to be. If you are not DVC you will be saving about 350 bucks, if you are DVC you save almost 200. So I know 700 really sounds high, but it is a great deal IF and only IF you will use it. I know I would.

:cool2::cool2:Gorgeous weather in Houston! Tell DH to pack the Ark, my friends in Atlanta are convinced it's time to load up 2 by 2:lmao: Which cakes did you design & make for the birthday kiddos? Please post pics:love:

Spring Break for us, off for quick trip to WDW on Monday and CAN NOT WAIT to see the Mouse!!

DD is waiting impatiently for the mail truck to deliver her high school acceptance letters:cheer2::cheer2:, luckily she's in the same boat as all her classmates - all schools mailed on the 12th...

What do you 'do' with your pins? I have mine tacked onto 16x20 painted canvases, grouped by type -- DCL, DCL trips/ports, Mickey, WDW Parks, DL and Non-Disney trips / pins -- these 'panels' hang on my home office wall and are fun to arrange & rearrange. When we travel I take a picture of each board on my phone so that I don't double buy. DH & DD laugh when 'outsiders' ask if I'm a pin-trader...usually shake their heads and say, 'NOPE, she's a COLLECTOR!':rotfl2:

What are your plans ? Are you doing anything fun this weekend ?

Last night my wonderful hubby booked us a trip to WDW and we're doing the 5 night Key West Disney Wonder cruise for June ~ I can't wait, though I feel quite anxious as this will be our first holiday without the kids (though it will be a practice run for the Panama Canal sailing)

Could I ask for some advice please ? We are thinking of staying the night before our cruise at Port Canaveral, where would you recommend to stay ? Thanks for any recommendations

Well this morning I am going shopping with my eldest DD, then tomorrow it's Mother's Day in the UK, so we're going out to our favourite all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you're up to :thumbsup2

We stayed and the Country Inn & Suites. We really enjoyed it there. The rooms are nice and you get a free breakfast (muffins, bagels waffles, etc.)
We booked it again for our upcoming October cruise.

REsidence, Radisson and Country Inn all offer free breakfasts. Guess it boils down to - which points program you use.

All this talk about were to stay and the free breakfasts and all really made me think. I woukd like to preface this by saying to each their own. We are going to be on the ship for 15 nights with a ton of , for lack of a better term, free food. Trust me on this for those who have not done a long cruise. By day 9 you will be so sick of food, of course we will still eat it. LOL. That's all I have.

Depending on our flight times I would like to go to WDW the day before, spend the night at a Value and then go to the port. We have an AP and transportation will almost be the same whether we go directly from MCO or WDW.

I think we will have to drive to Buffalo and probably fly South West, if so then it's a very early in the morning flight. We prefer to fly out of Syracuse but JetBlue's flight times and lack of non-stop coming back from LA make the extra 2 hour drive worth it.

Enjoy the weekend and the weather. Sounds like a fun weekend what with all the birthdays.

Thank you!

Hoping this weather sticks around for awhile! This is ideal weather. :thumbsup2 I did look at the forcast for Atlanta and it looks like the rain should be slowing down.

I just did a buttercream transfer for the cake and placed it on top of a sheetcake that I covered with marshmallow fondant. First buttercream transfer I've tried and I was quite please with the way it turned out. I learned from mistakes I made and know now what to do different next time. And obviously I need so practice on piping words :lmao:
DS wanted Spongebob and DD didn't really care so I just made 1 cake. With DH leaving and all of our family living out of town, we didn't really have a party. Just a couple of friends over to eat. It was actually nice!

Have fun at Mickey Mouse House! When DH was packing today, DS walked in and said excitedly "Are we going to Mickey Mouse House?" Needless to say he was a bit disappointed that we weren't!

Also, good luck to your daughter. I remember stalking the mailman for a few days when we were waiting on DH's MCAT scores. It's not easy when you're expecting something like acceptance letters/or test scores.

Thank you!

Yum! My birthday is early August...I want a cake!!

Update from the mailbox...BIG Package from DD's first choice school  happy dancing here  and waitlist from second choice...:woohoo:

Hi!
I like that idea. Could you post a picture of one of you pin boards? I'm not sure what you used. What is the canvas painted with /of? And how do you poke holes in a canvas and then are able to rearrange it later? Maybe my idea of a canvas is different then yours!

I have my collection on different lanyards and also grouped by types but they aren't real easy to see that way. They hang in my Mickey / DISNEY laundry room. :laundy: It helps to have some positive and happy things in there other then my sons' dirty clothes!!

Thank you!

Wow, the cake looks great!!!
Does the marshmallow fondant taste good? How is it to work with? I'm thinking of making a cake with it, just for fun!! Practice first before I make one for a special occasion! LOL

Just a quick update about my little fight. After doing a little more research I found a question posed to the same Social Media Director for Walt Disney. His answer was as long as someone had a active pass on 3/10/10 to both resorts then you will recive the new pass with an expiration of the latter of the two. I am going to print it out and keep it as my ace on the hole.

Great news! DH's annual pass at DL expires 4/3 and his WDW pass expires 10/14. We can renew his at DL when we're there for Thanksgiving.

If possible, could you post the source for this information - I'd like to print it out, too. And thanks for the earlier info about DVC and discounts. Either way, we will save a lot with the new pass.
