I've had the exact opposite with horses on beach. we went riding in Grand Cayman in 2004 and had the most wonderful and well cared for horses. same thing in Costa Maya (first time disney went there).
We've never used Disney for the excursions, always on our own with a small company. You need to do a fair amount of research to look into the company and what people say about them.
What car rental companies are closest to the Port in LA? I seem to remember Enterprise, but are there others?
I just checked about Hertz. I posted the info on the previous page, they are close to the port and have free shuttle.
THATS not too bad at all, were sharing 4 ways ,thanksI just called and there isnt a Hertz at the port, but right nearby. They have a free shuttle. The info is:
1939 Pacific Coast Highway HLE
Address: 1939 Pacific Coast Highway
Lomita, California,
United States
Phone: 310-891-3061
They also said if there is a long wait for the shuttle (this happened to me in PC on my last cruise, waited nearly 45 mins), then you can take a cab for about $15 to the Hertz facility.
Yes, and there is a lovely cottage here for you as well, and i mean it, life is so so short, you are welcome in scotland ANYTIME> like all my other american friends!!!!Lynne and Nicole,
Ugh with a side order of Oi! This stuff never occurs to me, but of course the care of the horses is an issue. It would break dd heart to see mistreated animals.
This is so typical of me. A certain blindness to what is right in front of me. Our first cruise I planned for our family to attend 10:00 am mass in Key West, I got the zip code, found the church, I planned for everything except for the fact the BOAT WOULDN'T BE THERE UNTIL NOON!
Ugh! On another note, I told dh we have to go to Scotland now. He asked, "why?" I answered, "Because I've been offered animals for dc to ride!"

Do you know what Jeff is working from 2/25-3/4? I am going to be out there and maybe I could say hi to him.
What a wonderful cottage! I believe my husband's family may of had some roots in Scotland way way back. Someday we hope to visit Scotland and Ireland. I may have to give up a Disney trip or two to pull it off. Here is a piky of our cottage. It is called Luing cottage which in Gaelic means safe haven, my Amaerican friends will agree with this!

Oh my goodness your horsies are too precious. I was never a horse crazy girl. I think they're beautiful good natured creatures but terrified of riding them. Tried riding them twice in my life, no problems actually with the riding part, no falling off or accidents or anything, just terrified the whole timeI think being very afraid of heights comes into it a little. I especially love that pony though, so adorable I just want to give it a big ol' hug! You would think with all the scottish ancestry I have I wouldn't be such a wuss!

Lynne,
There is a big debate between dh and I do we tell/show dd this post. She is a world class pest, and if she thought she could obtain a chance to ride almost at will she would be relentless.
For her 7 1/2 birthday party we took a small group of her friends horseback riding and she was in heaven. We did the dolphin ride in Cozumel and we call dd the master of large beasties. Her appetite for riding is insatiable.
She is much like her mother. I also hung around stables growing up and arranged my life to ride as much as possible.
