Happy Belated Birthday Carol!!!!

I loved Wicked!! Never read the book, but loved the play. What a great deal on those orchestra seats!!

DD and I were up pretty late working on her final project in one of her classes. She had to make a scrapbook about her life. There were fourteen different subjects. I had never done any kind of scrapbooking before, and I have to say, it was pretty fun. Especially doing it with DD. I would definitely like to do more. I have tons of pictures, and I was always so overwhelmed that I never started. But I really think this is something I can do.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

My DD and I are inside the Orphem in San Francisco waiting to see Wicked. I'm so excited since I have never seen it!

I so want to see Wicked!! Keep getting info on discount tix through travelzoo but have yet to get up to SF!! Also want to take DD to see Peter Pan!

Happy Birthday Carol!!

Can't wait to book flights next week! Ordering my FE gifts - would tell you but that would ruin the surprise - hopefully everyone will find them useful!!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!
I heard the books were not nearly as good as they made the play...I was going to read them until someone told me they weren't very good. What do you think? Is "interesting" synonymous for "bad?" The concept is facinating---take the "evil" character and make them the victim:idea:

I thought the books were good (have read the whole series). But the play was definitely more "satisfying". While preserving (as I recall) many of the moral ambiguities of the book, they were able to wrap things up nicely in the end and allow you to leave the theatre happy, with all issues basically resolved (something the book definitely does not do). :cool2:

How was A-team??? I grew up watching it as well, so my sis and I are taking my dad this weekend. From the previews it looks like they copied the original well---did they?
The A-Team was awesome. Way better than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was very true to the series. Also if you are a fan of the T.V. Show there is a very special suprise after then end credits. I am not going to give it away. I give the movie two thumbs up.

Thanks for the review. I am a fan of the show and will keep an eye out at the end; however, I won't probably get to see it until it comes to Netflix. DH and I never seem to go the movie and I really want to see Toy Story 3 as well.

Remember the suprise is after the end credits.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I like to think I am just another day older than the day before, sounds a whole lot better than a year older. I turned 63 but sure don't feel like it (most days :thumbsup2:lmao:)

Wicked was WONDERFUL!!! I highly recommend it! My DD is 12 (but she actually had a chance to see it before in NY when she was 10), and there was a group of very young girls in front of us last night (I would guess ages 7 or 8), so I think it works for young kids---It has some really funny parts. This play was a Mother's Day gift from my mom and she was able to get orchestra seats for $40--great seats, right on the center aisle, so maybe there is a chance you can get a deal like that:cool1:

I enjoyed the books. They are definitely a different turn on the Wizard of Oz movie that we all grew up with. Like you, I found looking at things from the "evil" character's point of view quite enlightening. Just goes to show that there is always two sides to every story.

As far as the books being as good as the play I won't be able to comment on that until August 8 when we are going to see it.

I just finished my first full size scrapbook (for my DGD) a few weeks ago and am now ready to start on 3 more. I found that I have a great time doing it and am ready to do more. I have gotten so into it that my DH got me a Cricket and Gypsy and hasn't regretted it. :lmao:

I found that Lion Among Men (the 3rd book so far) started tying a few of the loose ends up. Since it is a series I think the author purposefully keeps you hanging so that you will read the next book. All his writings are a little strange. I have read The Ugly Stepsister which is the story of Cinderella from her stepsister's point of view; Lost, kind of built around The Christmas Carol; and all three in the Wicked series so far. His writing is very political and moral and even though there are similarities to all the referenced stories you get a wholly different look at them. I enjoy his writing but it takes an open mind to read them. :thumbsup2

GOOD LUCK!! :wizard: Hope it goes well. Our DS who just turned 3 has been doing well for a while now, but there are some times he just seems to "forget" just to spite us.

DH and I saw Wicked last week, for the 3rd time in about 4 years - we have season tickets and they keep bringing it back to town. This was definitely the best production we've seen of it.

Thank you. I am another day older. It was a nice quiet day. No big celebration

We're going to see "Wicked" in August when it comes to Columbus. We have read the series so far and a couple of his other books. It will be interesting to see how "Wicked" is interpreted. It was an "interesting" read.

Happy belated birthday Carol.

DH read the book and said it's quite different than the musical. I could never get past the first 30 pages, and I don't know how many times I tried.

Be careful, it's addicting. I used to be a paper scrapper, like from the time I was a kid. But after DD was born and I never got a chance to work on anything. Then I got the idea to bring my laptop out while she napped in the car and started digi-scrapping. I love it and haven't looked back.

We're in potty training boot camp. Hopefully there will be something left to Jeff and I on Monday.....
Good luck to you all.
I should really do this with DD, too. She has no interest in PT though, even though we worked on it some before school ended. I figure as long as she's PT before January 1 so she can go into the OC all will be good.

Good luck!! Please let me know how it goes, we are planning ours for July 4th weekend. Are you doing the 3 day method?

Hopefully you have a comfy spot in the bathroom. The hardest part for me while waiting for our children to take care of business is trying to find a spot to sit that is not too painful. The side of the tub and tile floor just aren't that great.

So DW and I made an unexcepcted trip to DL today as we got a call that some friends of ours from San Antonio were in town at DL. Had a good day. At DCA I saw John Lasiter. That was cool. I wanted to ask for a pic but he was about to go eat. Stayed for the extra showingbof World of Color. The show is good, but it lacks story. It seems to jump from one scene to another like in soring over California. Still a worth while show and you can see the money they put into it, but I personaly thing Fantasmic is still the best show at DL.

Welcome to the new folks , Belated Birthday wishes Carol, and good luck with the PT- seems our son got trained overnight (just around age 2) when we told him if he didn't use the rest room all the time he'd have to wear a diaper on Grandpa's sailboat. (I guess he really wanted to wear just his little trunks?)((of course he just recently turned 28 LOL))

Good Morning, Everyone.

We get to go home tomorrow. I am happy. :)

Happy Saturday, Everyone!
