Happy Saturday, been up to lots this week, train,walks, boating, treasure hunts, barbys,bla,bla speak soon and stay well everybody

I was 61 when I started and 62 when I really got into it. You are never too old. I like it because it combines several of my hobbies into one outlet, photography, art and general craftiness.

Happy weekend everyone. Going to a picnic this evening that was canceled last weekend because of rain. They are holding it indoors this week because more rain is predicted. Enough already. But that is June in Ohio.

We're in potty training boot camp. Hopefully there will be something left to Jeff and I on Monday.....

Here is some for you. Let me know if it worked. My little guy turned 3 in March and just has no interest at all. I am at a loss and its not like this is my first child.

We're in potty boot camp. He will go on the potty if you ask him, but will never ask. And will not poop in the potty. Will not.
He's the last kid in his class (of 2 year olds, almost 3) who isn't at least mostly potty trained. At school they take him every 30 minutes to the potty. It's what we're doing here too.

I just refused to train myself to take him to the potty. he would tell me and his doc he just didn't want to use the potty and wanted to stay in diapers!!! but never seen a kindergartner in diapers. was getting frustrated by his third birthday, but we were going to Israel with my sister (4 adults, 6 kids from him to a 12 yo) and i just decided a diaper was just as easy than trying to get the guide to stop at 5 gajillion bathrooms - which is what happened when my DDs were getting trained. even for a few months after they were trained. so at 3 and 1/2 we were on a mountain in Haifa and for some reason DS did the "potty dance" so the guide (we had our own, not on a big tour) took him to the side and had him pee off the side. he thought that was the coolest thing in the world and never went in his diaper again!!! (except SOMEtimes at night for a while). weird!! ever used the targets in the toilet for your DS to shoot at? course my DS is 20 so they may not have those any more. but GOOD LUCK!!. i hear and my kids proved it, that boys are so much harder to train. (sorry Jen!!)

I absolutely hate giving any advice to parents, because I know that every child is different, and I also know that years from now, we will all laugh at the stress we put ourselves through over all of the things we are "supposed" to do as a parent and especially when they are "supposed" to be done, but, here is what a friend of mine did with her son...She could not, could NOT get her son to poop in the potty! He was actually afraid of it and would hold it forever and then have accidents in his pants--this went on long after he was 4!
He was really into Star Wars at the time, so my Brother-in-Law made a deal with him...if he could go pee and poop in the Big Potty for one whole week, he would buy him a new light saber. He never had an accident again! I think the combo of a special surprise from someone other than a parent made all the difference. Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck and know that "this too shall pass" (no pun intended )

I have done 3 scrapbooks Alaska, Croatia, and Hawaii. The Alaska and Croatia were my first I did not know what to do just did it. Did 1 Port at a time. The cruise to Hawaii I kept everything from the plane tickets to maps to the cruise compass. Last year Mom gave me a Disney Scrapbook so that is what I am going to use for our cruise. I do not scrap while on the cruise I do it a home. Both Hobby Lobby and Micheals have coupons so when I see them I go get items.

Sorry to overrun the thread with potty talk!

Jack is prone to having a sensitive behind, and with the summer heat, he really needs to use the potty and get out of the diapers. We are doing rewards with him. The kid loves coins. My dad (the accountant) bought Jack a train piggy bank for Christmas. Jack now hoards coins. So for everytime he pees he gets one coin, if he poops he gets probably a whole roll of quarters.
Smart planning on our part - the piggy bank is going to be the smoothie budget on the cruise for Jack...

he he! i remember when DS came to me and complained "It's not fair Mom!" What is not fair, son? "My sisters get to wash their own clothes and I dont get to!!" funny! but he liked doing it. and when he started serious sports, fb, baseball and basketball, it was a blessing - he walked in the door, stripped to just underpants right by the washer and in the uniform went!

We tried toys and stickers and M&M's....This is what worked; I said "Just give it a try, I think you might like it better than diapers". We had ONE night time accident after that and that was it. All kids are different, just another tool for your toolbox!

I remember reading, in I think it was "Baby 411", on average girls PT around 34 months while boys PT around 39 months. Well DS was right on target. He had a package of "Cars" underwear hanging on his closet door as a temptation for a few months. And right at 39 months he told me, "mom, I'm going to wear big boy underpants tomorrow" and that was the end of diapers (during the day) for him. On the other hand, DD is now 37 months old and just has no interest in PT. I have some pretty princess panties just waiting for her to decide she's had enough diapers. But that doesn't seem to phase her. I think I'm going to have to resort to the diaper-less route if her attitude doesn't change in the next couple of months.

for $382.10 per person. Then we upgraded the fare with miles. Seemed like a good deal as well, especially for first class - which we need - since we do NOT travel lightly.

Sounds like Delta flights We'll be on Delta from LAX to TPA (They have a direct redeye). I love the fountain in the middle of the DTW terminal. Especially when people don't realize that the water flows over the outside and they lean against it
