From the Med to the Panama Canal

I just phoned DCL and got our 28 year old son, Mike a cat 12 GTY stateroom! Yeah, the price is much more than the TransAtlantic last year, but he really wants to go, so it's worth it!

Since he's going, Chuck and I can make ressies for Palo:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Very good:cool1:

which one West or East bound?

Sounds like something from "The Princess Bride". Maybe a visit to Miracle Max is in order.

That is exactly what I was referencing... "mostly dead"

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself as I just signed up to this board.
This will be the third time that my sons and I have sailed on the magic. First was on the last west coast visit, then the Eastbound TA, and now we are looking forward to the Westbound PC trip. I just put down the final payment today so I am now starting to plan the trip for real! What will make this trip much more memorable will be that my sons and I will be doing it without any other family members on board this time and without a girlfriend in tow. I paid for the GF's TA trip and when she got back, she could not take living with my sons anymore and split. (her loss) I guess I will just have to explore the "singles" lunches this time on board. Both my sons are moderate to severely developmentally delayed and have autism. Those on the EB TA may remember them as the two biggest kids (now 23 & 21) in the Oceaneer Lab running around with the 12year olds and having a blast. With luck the captain will allow them to join the other kids again and I can have some time to relax too. If not, then we will be doing a lot of walking while at sea. If anyone hears that they are dropping the "3rd in the room" price like they did on the TA, please let me know.

Look forward to meeting everyone, hopefully before the sailing date, but if not then on board.

Steve

Welcome Steve! There is another thread that I will post for you that is very active with hundreds of people involved and posts about 40 pages per day. So, we are a little slower going. We have another handicapped family in our group, so they may be helpful with anything you need, but it sounds like you are pretty experienced. Without the GF you may find your trip more relaxing this time around! At least she figured out what she could do and not do before you go married!! There are plenty of women out there who will love a man for him and anyone who comes with him... maybe she's on this cruise!

Just a reminder that tomorrow night at 9pm western is booking time for excursions and palo.

OK we are PIF and purchases airline tickets. :cool1: Something we haven't done in a long time....... We can't wait for tomorrow to make all reservations.... Lots of coffee to stay awake.....:surfweb:

Kelly is the DIS meet on sun 3/16? is that palm sunday? I don't think kenzie will be able to make it that weekend since we are planning to be in LA from 24th of march through 29th? maybe we can hook up then?

Thank you for the good wishes, and maybe I will find a nice lady on this trip...It is the "Magic" afterall and most things can be done with "faith, trust, and pixie dust!" Anyone have a guess on which nights the formal dinners will be so I don't do a ressie for Palo that night? This will be the first time the boys will have dined in Palo, but I think they will behave nicely for me. If there are any meets prior to the cruise here in SoCal, please let me know in advance so we can try to fit it into the schedule. The boys are very active in the Kiwanis Aktion Club (for adults with special needs) and Special Olympics. They must get it from their father who is very active in community service groups too and plays driver for them.:worship: I will try to find the big board and post on that thread. BTW, I think we are going to take a Non-Stop Delta red eye from LAX to Orlando on the night of the 9th. Anyone else taking that flight? Talk to everyone soon.

Dismeet 5/9/08 night before the cruise
________________________________________
OK, I found us a Dismeet for the night before the cruise at DTD. This is the place we can also distribute the lanyards. Guest relations helped me to set up a meeting for 4:30pm at the Dockside Stage across from the World of Disney. Each person/family can pick up food from any location in DTD and bring it to the Dockside stage and we can eat, meet and greet. PM me if you'd like to come and tell me how many in your party. We'll have about 90 min. to visit with each other before they set up for a 6:30 performance. I will keep in touch with the management at DTD to find out what the performance will be and to let them know how many of us will be there. Here is the map. World of Disney is number 28 and the stage is near the number 42. We'll see how well you can read this on the post. Thanks, Kelly

Sorry we are taking the red eye on wed 7th of may out of lax!

Is anyone returning a car to the port? I am looking for a ride for my dad in a mini van to the port. I have checked with the hotels and they have vans which aren't handicap accessible. Any other thoughts?:surfweb:

We have just booked through a company called ****** transportation, http://www.******transportation.com,

The cost for the ten of us from the mco airport to our hotel in the port is $105 plus tip and includes a grocery stop of 15minutes.

check them out!

Hi Guys, anyone over here having any luck booking? 45 min. and I've got nothing!

well, its officially 530 in the promised land.:surfweb:
Karen gave up around 2 and went to bed.
she's sleeping like a baby, (waking up every 2 hours and wetting the bed:laughing: ) --just kidding baby, I love you.

i've been up all night trying to get things booked and had no success until about 30 mins ago.
(note to self, next time, let all the suckers stay up all night, set your alarm clock for 5am and get things done in a jiffy)

In my insomnia induced stupor, I also realized that I could have bought a 2005 version of the passporter with all the PC info from last time and probably have made more informed choices on the excursions.

oh well.

how did everyone make out?

good morning y'all

Alex

Well, this morning I got on and got 2 excursions and a palo dinner. I wanted a palo brunch, but I suspect that they will become available at some point. I think we liked the brunch better than the dinner and we've never done the tea.

Susie, did you get anything? I didn't see you posting last night.

We decided to get off and walk Aruba, I'm assuming the town is right there? Am I right or wrong on that one?

I read this and looked over at my bookcase and there it was. I had forgotten that I had purchased it when I was on the West Coast cruise. Thanks for the reminder.

I tried last night and thought I had one excursion booked and then tried for Palo and finally gave up and went to bed. When I checked this morning, I found that I didn't have anything booked. After you finally get the excursion all checked off, you have to also hit the "Submit" button at the bottome of the page.

I rebooked the excursion this morning - it only took about two hours, and now I'm sitting here waiting on Palo. Too bad the brunch is not available. Guess I'll be standing in line for that once we board. I still have 3 more excursions to book. Looks like I will be sitting at the computer all day today.

Baby I love you back! You are the BEST HUSBAND!!!! You got all our dates and excursions!!! I LOVE YOU!!!! :cheer2:

He can be real assest when he needs to be. Susy, so did you find any good notes from your last trip?popcorn::

We booked the Butterfly farm excursion for the kids in Aruba, the jet over boat for us in ACA and the slip line in PV for us. Anyone is on these???

I'm afraid I'm not having good luck with the excursions. Most of the things we wanted to do are booked. I guess I'll just have to hope that space frees up for them later on. It's particularly frustrating since one of the excursions that is now booked was one I had thought I had booked last night.

Hi its Me, Karen of Alex and Karen I am a Disser and i am in need of a good ten step program to keep on going, not quiting sorry Kelly....

has anyone else signed up on the big thread to hand out treats one day? I was thinking of handing out fish mail treats on the 21st of May. Anyone else doing that day or tag along with me?
