Sorry, sorry, and sorry for ignoring everybody on the DIS this week. Last Saturday, I thought I had a busy but normal school week coming as I prepared for the trip. Then the cat got sick and school got even crazier with one of my students having a major mental breakdown. We had to have meetings on him, and of course all the stuff with the cat kept me so busy that all of the sudden, I have arrived at TODAY, and I'm not sure how I got here.

You know how you do that in the car sometime - you are so deep in thought that you arrive at your destination but don't remember what you passed. At least, I hope I am not the only one who does that!
Anyway, this second vet thinks the cat just has a serious, serious viral infection. I went and got a kitchen baster this morning, and Drew and I managed to get a few drops of water down him. A dropper wasn't doing it, and a lot of the water from the baster went all over his face and all over Drew, but I at least know a little of it got in the cat!
We are on our lunch break at school. No students today, so we meet and meet and meet. We also will have time to work on report cards after lunch, which is much appreciated. You would have to see our report cards to believe them. They don't just say Reading, Math, etc., but under each subject there are objectives we have to rate 1, 2, or 3 on each student.
Here's one of our SS standards for second-graders:
Communicates ideas, value judgments, beliefs, and emotions through individual expression, group dialogue, cultural communities, and global networks by oral, written, symbolic, visual, and technological means.
Didja get all that?
And then there's the one that asks us to rate our 7-8 year olds on how well they
prioritize events, identify bias, recognize perspectives, interpret trends, and predict outcomes.
Yeah...elementary school ain't like it yooosta be!
With the cat getting better and getting some work behind me at school this afternoon, I might just be able to get excited about a certain upcoming trip.
Jill should be here around 3:30 - 4:00, and we'll head to
BNA to hitch a ride to
MCO.
ME will take us to
SSR to meet Trent, who will have been walking around
DTD. Tomorrow we'll open
MK. All those letters add up to happiness!
Thanks for all the encouragment this week, too - here, in PM's, and on Facebook. Since I am going into this unorganized, just remind me if you have asked for certain pictures, etc., so I don't forget. I know I'm looking for a Winnie-the-Pooh shirt SKU number, price, and sizes for one person and some Halloween sprinkles for another. Anyone in Magic Kingdom Saturday between 4-5, come over to Aloha Isle for a Dole Whip meet. Anyone in Epcot near Nemo on Monday morning, we'll see you there! If neither of those work, FB Jill and let's see what we can work out.
