We're planning to go to DTD on Tuesday morning, then back to Saratoga Springs. We have to meet UnMagical Express around 3. We might go to the Boardwalk Sunday night, or possibly even to Pop. We plan to eat lunch at Poly on Saturday (16th). Those will be our out of park times, so just let us know.

Looks like our paths probably won't cross.:sad2:

But who knows plans might change again? I will pm Jill my facebook info and that way if it looks like I may be in the same place I can let you know.:)

*************************************

It made me realize that we should make the most of our experiences, as well, for they last for only a fleeting moment in time. As grown-ups, with defined experiences like high school and college behind us, we can make every day life a good experience. I know I will take the inspiration I gained yesterday from dusting off Trent's memories and wonderful experiences and carry that into today and into my school days this week. Each day is truly a clean slate, and it could be one of a million more, or it could be the last. I know that as a teacher of young children, I do touch lives every day. I pray that it will be in good ways and that they will remember the time they spent with me as being positive, productive, and fun.

What a way with words you have. So true what you are saying.

I could only be so lucky if either of my kids have a teacher like you.:goodvibes

Very nice MeMom!

Have a great Sunday.

It was a nice Sunday. Church, a little schoolwork, took out the trash, washed a load of towels, watched some HGTV, DISed....just aort of normal stuff. The temperature according to the church sign when I pulled in was 63 degrees, so that was nice. I am ready for some beautiful Tennessee autumn weather.

How :cool1: ! We did have a blast MeMom , just finally getting around to catching up on every-one's reports and gonna try and start my own ! We've had such a busy time since we got back with laundry, school, soccer, boy scouts, uploading & editing pictures , putting everything away , cleaning up the messes our dogs decided to leave us while we were gone and getting ready for a move we just found out about on vacation to California at the end of October !

Great updates MeMom & Jill

-Love the early morning PoP pictures , you always do such a beautiful job MeMom !
-Bella is soo silly, the traveling to the bathroom picture and bow pic are too cute !
-Nice Disney Store pictures, I'm hoping when we move to find one close by although in our new location there seems to be not much close by lol
-Great pictures of the opening show Jill
-Awesome Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin pictures
-The park looked so empty for being 4th of July , where was everyone at ?
-So cute how Bella really checks Minnie & Mickey out and Brooklynn is def a pro with the characters !
-Great construction pictures Jill
-Adorable pictures of Brooklynn opening ToonTown such a lucky girl
- the ToonTown shopping pictures , it's hard to believe the next time we are at WDW that will all be gone !
-Precious pictures & video of the girls with the Stepsisters & Stepmother
-I:love: that mural at the Contemporary !
-Nice Chef Mickey's pictures and the breakfast looks so yummy
-You got me very teary eyed this morning w/ your voices of Liberty Concert Story , Veterans & Our Men and Women in uniform have such great respect for our country ! Such amazing people that we can all learn from !

It does take several days to recuperate, doesn't it? ;)

A MOVE? That's sort of a big thing! Tell us more.

You always have such profound words, MeMom. Thank you for taking the time to share them with us.

I just blabber on. Glad you enjoyed the 'out loud' thoughts.

Aww. MeMom. What a great way to look at boxing up those old momentos. I'm so glad you hold the memories so dear.
Are y'all going to the Madison Street Festival on Saturday? Abs will be in the parade with her Indian Princess tribe. The boys and I will watch the parade and walk around the street vendors a bit. Tom and Abs will leave there to go to her cheerleading and then home for a quick break before one of us takes her to a birthday. Next year cheerleading is going to have to go. None of us like it but we are making her see through her commitment. Anyway, if that is the fair you are talking about we would love to meet up. Jill, if you have a time and place that works let me know.

I will let Jill answer about the Street Festival, but I am guessing that is what it is. She has to run a booth for a couple of hours, so the girls and I are going to go do fun things while she is there. We can text with you on that day or she can just tell you about her booth and we can arrange a time to meet there.

I'm just catching up on all my DISing & trip reporting & looking at your updates from the past week.

I love the picture of Bella trying to take flight! She's so cute!
It looks like you guys had fun at Chef Mickey's! The food looks good and it looks like you had good character interaction.

Chef Mickey's is always a fun time for us. It's just one of those classic meals. Some of our cousins (different ones than will be there with us) are eating at Chef Mickey's next Wednesday. They have not been to WDW with their boys, so it's fun for us to think about them being there.

Looked like a happy breakfast at CM!! I do love Pluto too
Such a touching story about VOL....I was weepy too
tomorrow WILL be another clean slate day

Tracy

We'll see if Bella continues to have an affection for Pluto. I'm wondering if she will warm up to the characters faster this time, since it hasn't been long since she was there.

Hurray for being in Animal Kingdom in three weeks!!!

You are so right about making the most of each day. That is something I should strive to do -- some days are easier than others, for sure!

It is easier to say it than do it, but if we keep reminding each other to do our best often, I think we can all go out with good attitudes and make things a little nicer than they might have been if we weren't making the concentrated effort. I ended my Friday afternoon with one of my fragile students having quite an episode. He destroyed a whole bookshelf of stuff I had laid out - knocking things all over the place. His caregiver said she had been seeing issues at home, too, and he may be going to a 'place' for a while, but if he shows up this morning, I want to start his day and my day with him off on a good note. He's a sweet kid with a mountain of issues that he's going to have to deal with in what I am sad to think is going to be a rough life. :sad2:

I think it'll be awesome! And being down there for an entire semester I'm bound to run into you at some point

Yeah I'm looking at Rhode Island College and University of Rhode Island. RIC is about 20 minutes away so that's not bad at all. URI is a little farther. About an hour I think. But I'd be even more hesitant to stay in the dorms there. They're not the safest dorms apparently. A family friend went there and someone broke into her dorm and stole her laptop, her jewelry, her CD's, basically everything that was at all expensive. URI has four different campuses. Their main campus is the one that's an hour away, but they also have one that's 20 minutes away. If it's possible I'll try to take at least one of my classes there. I don't think the commute will bother me too much unless I have really early classes. My mom commutes an hour to work every week day and she doesn't mind it much.

A lot of my friends think I'm crazy because I don't want to get away from home. A lot of them can't wait to move out because their parents drive them nuts. My mom and I get along great and I'm in no rush to move out and she's definitely not in any rush for me to leave.

My mom and I made a Disney dinner tonight! We got some recipes from allears.net. We made the wild mushroom and chicken pasta from Crystal Palace and the seasoned green beans from Chef Mickey's :thumbsup2 We messed up the beans a little bit(That may have been my fault :rolleyes1) but they were still good. The pasta was AMAZING and tasted exactly like the pasta at Crystal Palace.

I was in no rush for my kids to leave, either. I like having them around. Drew stays with friends a lot now, so he's in and out. I might not see him for several days, but he always is glad to get back to his own home. I have talked about selling this house and moving one of these days, but Trent has forbidden me to give away his childhood home. He says all of the bumps and scratches around here are his memories, and he doesn't want to give them up. He started making his mark on this house as we were moving in by skidding and running his Geoffrey giraffe riding toy off the kitchen steps down into the den. :rotfl:

Your meal sounds good. I believe we'll be having some Liberty Tree Tavern recipes for Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

maybe she felt brave enough to touch him because she's so fond of the little pluto she carries around with her. pluto is one of my faves, too!

Yep, I think she did recognize and feel comfortable a little with him because of her toy dog. By the time she gets a new stuffed animal and Brooklynn does, too, on every trip, they're going to have to have an extra room!

Such inspiring words MeMom-thanks for sharing them with us!!

I get inspired from others often, so I am glad I could pass that on to someone else.

Hey Memom, Jill and everyone

We have had our first full week here at WDW and it has been wonderful. Have been to all 4 parks but we are all really struggling with the heat and humidity - we dont get these temps at home. My 7 yr old nephew is having a hard time keeping up with our commando schedule - we underestimated how tough it would be for him and have had to curtail alot of the plans otherwise the wobblies start and the stamping of feet etc which is rather embarrassing in a full park!!!

The first day at Magic Kingdom I nearly passed out from the heat and my mother and sister got great pleasure out of tipping bottles of water over my head to cool me down - I am sure it is something they cherished having permission to do.

Love your country, the people are so friendly and welcoming. The pink lemonade is divine - we dont have that at home. Been on Toy story mania - I was hopeless - 7 yr old beat me. done the safari, loved Phillarmagic. Had a blast at the 50 Prime time diner - brother Bob was brilliant. Have achieved so much really and loved it all. Went to the Mickeys not so scary party which was fantastic and now we have booked another one as there was so much we didnt do.

Quiet day today - started out with breakfast at Chef Mickeys - so your photos were great as I have now experienced it myself. took a ride to the local Walmart which is an amazing place - we could have spent the day there - everything seems to be so cheap. Then checked out some resorts.

Staying at the Dolphin which is a lovely place - so big we keep still getting lost.

Best stop now before I write a whole trip report on yours!!! sorry about that. We are having a day at Universal tomorrow as we want to do Harry Potter world - big fans.

Have a good night

So good to hear from you while you are there! :dance3:
Have a great time, and we will want to hear all about it!
Take plenty of time for rest, for sure. ::yes::

It's funny to read your view of Walmart.

MeMom you have such a way with words

Aw, shucks. :flower3:

Looks like our paths probably won't cross.:sad2:

But who knows plans might change again? I will pm Jill my facebook info and that way if it looks like I may be in the same place I can let you know.:)

If you leave your parks midday to go to DTD or a resort, just let us know. Surely we can work something out for a fly-by hello at some point.

Memom, You had said a few pages back that you hoped to see some Christmas merchandise in October. I am happy to give you a live update that there is indeed a small amount out. I found a small section in Mousegear last night. I thought of you and several other dissers when I saw this ornament.:)

Happy Monday, all!

I had my 10year class reunion this weekend, & I was on the planning committee, so I did that. And I am still tired. :) Tonight is early to bed!!

I just had to tell you about a dream I had last night. I am not kidding - I dreamt I was on a business trip and there was a Disney store in the hotel. I remember thinking in the dream that I should take shopping pictures for MeMom. :) :) no lie! I woke up & for a moment forgot it was just a dream.

Have a great day!

It sounds like you all chose the perfect way to spend the Fourth of July. I really want to hear the Voices of Liberty. I also want to see the American Adventure. We have never taken the time to do either one.

It looks like Brooklynn and Bella really enjoyed their Chef Mickey breakfast.

I am excited about seeing some. I know there are always the two Christmas stores in Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney to fall back on, but I was hoping they would start having some of the specialized 2010 stuff out in shops, too. I said I would be okay without a holiday trip, but the closer it gets, the more I know I am going to miss seeing those big beautiful Christmas trees in parks and resorts. I snuck in a field trip for the whole second grade to Cheekwood to see the Trees of Christmas, so that will be my Christmas tree treat this year. :)

They did. Bella will get her money's worth from buffets whenever she has to start paying. ;)

The historical shows are interesting. I like Hall of Presidents and American Adventure. I like all the exhibits in World Showcase, too, like the Tomb Warriors and the mini-museums.

You are in WDW like 200 days a year now, so I bet you will catch it!!! :rotfl:

Oh how I wish! Trust me, Joe and I have talked about it on more than one occasion. Sometimes seriously, sometimes just as a joke. He talks of buying the max # of DVC points (5000 :scared1:) so we can live there 6 months out of the year.

I think buying a 2nd home in Celebration would be cheaper.

Someday.

Maybe.

A girl can dream, right?

Yesterday, I spent about two hours in Trent's room cleaning and boxing up things he has left here. I'm trying to get it in better shape for others to use it when they are here. I told Wigd that it was a nice trip down Memory Lane looking at all of his plaques, trophies, certificates, etc. That boy made the most of his high school years, for sure. Beautifully said. I had a similar thought the other day and how easy it is to get tired and frustrated being a stay-at-home Mom of a 3 year old. Sometimes I feel alone and isolated and miss working...but I almost always realize what a gift I have and how I should not focus on the negative sides of it, but on the wonderful positive impacts I am making. Take hold of this opportunity I've been given with both hands and embrace and RUN with it. Give it my all.

Thank you for the encouragement!

And 3 weeks!!!!!! You are at SSR this trip, correct? The zero entry in the big pool is quite nice, and they have a kiddy water slide. :thumbsup2

Memom....I can totally relate to what you shared about experiences. I think we both might take so many pictures of people and things just to capture the memories and be able to remind ourselves of what each day was like! :lovestruc You are certainly a wonderful mom and I know you love your children very much....and grandkids too!!!! Thats what its all about!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

The big news of the day. Southwest is aquiring AIRTRAN.:banana:

Hopefully this will bring Southwest to Charlotte.:cool1::cool1:

I will have my first SW experience in 2 weeks.

Welcome! We are always glad when lurkers chime in and become regulars so make yourself at home. What are your October dates? I'm sure we will make it to the Knoxville/Gatlinburg area before too long. We'll let you know when and maybe we can plan a meet.

I am going to try my best to keep up! Our dates are 10/29 - 11/5, but I am working on DH to extend that to 11/6 or, hope of all hopes, 11/7 (my birthday!:lovestruc). We are only about 1.5 hrs. from Knox./Gatlinburg. We used to get Dollywood passes every year, but took a break this year. It is very nice at Christmas time, with lots of lights and Santa's village (not DISNEY nice though;)). We could definitely make it to a meet there any day!

Quick question for you Jill (or anyone can answer): Did I read that you did a photopass share? I have read about it on the boards, but can't seem to find a thread. Can you point me in the right direction?

I think Wigd and Shocker must have close to the maximum allowable!

Yes, we will be at SSR for our first stay there. We've been there a few times for visits, DVC tour, etc., but never to sleep. We are hoping our cousins will be able to come over and check out the SSR pool for a little while on Tuesday.

I was once fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom to a three year old and an infant. I had no desire to go to work. It seems younger people like to be out in the work world at least part-time, but I was very happy at home.

I just love pictures - classic poses are fine, but impromptu and unusual ones are better.

I know I love my kids, and I guess they put up with me as best they can. :)

I saw this briefly. We have had good luck with SW, except that last late flight due to bad weather in Texas.

********************************

Jill said she loaded video last night, so she didn't have time for pictures. Hopefully, she can get the video up after the girls are in bed tonight. If not, maybe tomorrow. She's had a sinus headache like so many of us are having right now.

Really enjoyed the pictures of your Chef Mickey's feast! Still one we haven't tried but I do want to check it out for breakfast. Sometimes it's a little awkward for just the two of us being at character meals though.

Your plans for 3 weeks from yesterday (I think, maybe you wrote that this morning and I'm not paying attention!) sound so great. I've said this before but going in October is something I can't wait to get to do one day. Since I don't know what that will be, I will continue to live vicariously through your report :thumbsup2

Hi Memom! Thanks for the warm welcome! I am still trying to figure out the ins and outs of posting on her. :) I have been a lurker for too long. I wanted to reply to you on my previous post, but couldn't figure out how to quote more than one post.:lmao: I love reading your reports and have learned so much on here!

I am hoping this year, now that the kids are a little older, that we can slow down and explore more in WS. Especially since we are wanting to experience some of the F&W festival (still not sure how the boys will do with this plan). I have only breezed through and never done much browsing and def. haven't caught any shows (other than the CP we did at Christmas last year). VoL sounds like a great experience, esp. on the 4th!

Thanks to you, I also have a desire to try as many resorts as possible and add new experiences to every trip. :thumbsup2 (not to mention increase the frequency of our trips!) :rotfl:

Yay! This is the best new for us too! We are getting SW airlines! No more luggage fees and business class envy!

MeMom, we do not have anywhere near the maximum allowed but believe me, I working on it!
If we did, it would be a girls trip every summer in a grand villa, my treat!

YES, I was very excited to hear about SW acquiring Airtran!!! Although we do have SW here in Austin, Pensacola didn't so now we can fly there and to many other locations...which makes the options endless!!!!!

Oh I hope Jill gets to feeling better, sinus headaches are horrible!!!

I'm checking in for a very few minutes. It is a super busy week for me. Our book fair that I'm in charge of is this week which means tomorrow I get to work from 7:00amm to 8:00pm because of a special after hours event. We also have school pictures on Wednesday and Thursday so I'm trying to organize who gets pictures when and make sure my Mon Wed Fri kids are scheduled for Wednesday, as well as, all siblings are scheduled for the same day. The school is in charge of a booth at the local street festival on Saturday plus my day to day mommy jobs.

I did want to post some video from Voices of Liberty.

October is very cool in Magic Kingdom with all of the decorations. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is fun for grown-ups, too! Jill will put up Facebook pictures of scarecrows and Mickey jack-o-lanterns for you to enjoy.

To multi-quote, hit the quotation marks in the bottom of the box. It will turn orange/red. When you are finishes and ready to respond to all, then hit the usual QUOTE button.

Resort hopping is one of my favorite things to do. There will be little time for that on this short trip, I am sad to say. We will eat at Poly for lunch on Saturday, most likely, and visit Pop, but other than that, I don't know that we will get around to other resorts. We might boat over to POR/POFQ to eat, but that's iffy. Short trips just don't allow for much leisure time.

We are glad you here and hope you will feel very much at home on all of our reports.

Oh my goodness, Jill! You are very, very busy!

She will very much enjoy four days in Disney World as a treat soon. :goodvibes

Jill
You are one busy super mommy.
Take care of that headache and I wish you success with all your activies. I know you will be on top of it all.

Jill does an excellent job at planning and organizing things. She's been good at stuff like that from way back. When she was a church camp counselor, she would make all the girls nice little notebooks and treat bags and such. She always did a fabulous job planning camp games - especially those fun 'messy night' games.

I think we're going to have a DIS meet, too, at that Fall Festival on Saturday, so that will be fun.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Jill, you are super Mom! :) that trip is coming soon, it's on the horizon!!

Wigd, a girls villa trip?! Sign me up! :) :) Wouldnt that be a hoot? I can imagine the sillyness that would ensue (and some fun too!)!
