Will Disney provide a frig free of charge for meds? My cousin (24 years old) is recovering from a long bought of chemo, radiation and most recently a stem cell transplant and has many meds needing refrigeration. Would she be able to get a Dr.'s note and they would not charge? My guess is no, but disney should consider this. We are staying at ASMu and I am contemplating a few nights at WL, too.
What is the daily rate for a frig?

I believe the charge at the All Stars is $10/day. I don't know if they will waive the fee or not. Give them a call and ask. Who knows, they might say yes. I think some of the rooms for those with disabilities do come with a fridge.

They do not charge for the frig if it's for medical reasons. Both DS6 and I have meds that need refrigoration and only by mistake have they charged us. They credited my charge card after explaining that it had been used for medication.

Of course, we used it for juice boxes and other food items, too.

Thanks for the feedback. Is it a dorm size frig? We will also use it for milk and formula. Does she need a Dr.'s note?

It is a dorm size frig.

The time they charged us, I simply said that we needed a frig for meds. I think the best way now, is to ask where you can put your meds while you are there and/or if they have a frig you could have in your room.

They never questioned me or asked to see the medications.

Have a great trip!

I too have gotten a frig for meds. There was no charge, nor did I have to supply a doctor's note (although it couldn't hurt).

There is some inconsistency in whether or not they charge for refrigerators used for medication. So, do ask, and ask to speak with a supervisor if told no, but don't be too surprised if you are told you will have to pay.
Quite a few people have posted in the past 2 years that they were charged even with a letter from their doctor and showing the medication. Even people who have gone thru the WDW Special Needs Department have been charged. People have posted that when they showed their medication to the CMs, they were told the only way to avoid being charged was to store the medication in the refrigerator at the front desk...even if it meant coming up to the front desk multiple times per day to get doses.
The reason for all this is that some people have seen the "hint" (not on the DIS Boards) that you can get a free refrigerator by saying you had medication, even if you didn't. Because so many people were asking for "medication" refrigerators, WDW started charging everyone, even people who had a legitimate need.
So, good luck.
