Ok, are you PURPLE or GREEN???? You are confusing me. :lmao:

Hunger? Don't they understand that we only have 379 days to get this figured out?!?!

No, no, he didn't say STUFFY, he said "hoity-toity"! :rotfl2:

I'm leaning towards BW as well b/c of the nightlife/adult feel...

I've been doing GREEN all along but you started doing green so I just went with it. I'm already learning to go with the flow! :hippie:

That's right HOITY TOITY! :rotfl2:

I honestly don't know if anyone is reading this on a regular basis besides Karen and I but I'm going to jump in and do the 30 Day Photo Challenge anyway. I need a Disney boost and I'm doing it for ME! :thumbsup2

Day 1: A picture of you at Disney and 10 reasons you love Disney

421.jpg

Okay, I'm going to say right up front that I love TRAVEL, not just at Disney. There are some things on this list that are special about WDW but some of them are true about vacations in general. :goodvibes

1. Planning! There is so much to plot and plan when it comes to a WDW trip- dates, resorts, deals, meals, park days, touring plans, DISigns, extras... and just when I think I have it all figured out I get some new little tidbit that makes me rethink everything. I love every minute of it! :surfweb:

2. Pictures! The photographer in me is enthralled by the diversity, the colors, the people, the characters, the theming- everything at WDW is made to please the eye (and the camera). Right down to the displays in the shops. :cloud9:

3. World Showcase! As I said, I love to travel. I've been to a few places and EPCOT's WS really gives you the sense of actually being in a new country, immersed in a new culture. :lovestruc

4. Diversity! There is so much to see and do at WDW that every trip will be a whole new experience! I don't think it's even POSSIBLE to see and do it all because they are constantly adding and upgrading the experience. pixiedust:

5. Fun for all! My first trip to WDW was as a teenager on my senior trip- my girlfriends and I had a blast riding rides, seeing shows, meeting characters- it was one of the best days of our trip! My next trip was with my family and it was even more magical as a mom with kids seeing the magic for the first time. And now I'm headed back with my best friend- I just can't imagine another place that would be a fitting destination for so many different combinations of people. :grouphug:

6. Wish fulfillment! I spent my entire childhood wishing my family could go to WDW. We never did but I can go now and share it with my kids. :lovestruc

7. Food! Not only is the food tasty it is also one of the few vacations we take where I don't cook AT ALL! No cooking, no shopping, no dishes- just gluttony! popcorn::

8. Drinks! There is nothing like a drink from Disney. I didn't have many because they are pricey- but oh so worth it! Every time I did indulge I was on edge because of crowds or some other annoyance and the first sip always made me feel better. ;)

9. The DIS! I seriously don't know if I would have been sucked in if not for the Mouse Mafia here at the DIS. (And Karen is the Fairy Godmother in this "Family") I love reading TRs, following along with PTRs, diving into DISigns, pouring over menus, looking at pics, reading reviews and finding out all the little things to make my trips even more magical! The DIS ROCKS! :cheer2:

10. Magical memories! My kids and I still talk about our trip on a regular basis even though it took place a year and a half ago. I still get teary eyed when I remember the moment that Kya first spotted the castle. I get giddy thinking about how much Jace loved Innoventions. The list goes on and on... we have so many great memories for WDW.

OK, do the two of you have this color thing worked out now? Just want to know who I'm reading (yeah, like your avatars don't give it away or anything, right? You guys are going to have such an awesome time on your trip!!! :thumbsup2

Your 10 reasons are PERFECT! I couldn't have picked better reasons! :lovestruc

I know Ariel has been controversial and criticized for changing her life for a man but I always thought she was rebelling against the patriarchy and following her heart. After all, she wanted legs and was fascinated with humans BEFORE she chased after Eric.

I think of myself as like her because I also have wanderlust, am fascinated by new things and diverse cultures and tend to romanticize those things. I also hate to admit that in my youth I gave up important pieces of myself for the sake of snagging a man- but ultimately got them back and was able to have a REAL relationship as a result. Just like Ariel. :lovestruc

Yay! I'm glad you came over here, sometimes I feel like we're just talking to ourselves here!

This one was SO easy! I don't have a pic of the actual moment because I was too busy being IN the moment to capture it with a pic. Here's the story...

It was our first day in Orlando after MONTHS of planning, saving, dreaming- we had FINALLY arrived and I was feeling... meh. :confused3 We'd ridden ME, checked into ASMu, settled into our room and I kept waiting for the magic to hit me but I just wasn't feeling it. We hopped a bus to spend the afternoon at MK and I was thinking that this maybe I'd built it up too much in my head- we were all having a good time and I was wasting time worrying about a feeling that might not even be realistic. I was okay with just hanging with my family so it was fine. And then we were rounding the corner onto MS and the castle came into view...

Oh. my. I will NEVER forget the moment when Kya saw the castle for the first time. She was SPEECHLESS but she grabbed my hand and squeezed, squealing softly. I whispered, "Oh, there it is," and we were looking at each other smiling. :cloud9:

I almost started weeping right there on MS, it was SUCH a magical moment to share with my girl and even typing it up now makes me teary eyed. I hope she remembers that feeling forever- I know I will. pixiedust:

Just you talking about it makes me teary. I wish I was there right now. :goodvibes

Do you see that folks... those are MATCHING SHIRTS and Robbie is WILLINGLY WEARING HIS! And the real kicker is that it's a TIE-DYED shirt! :hippie:

No way would he do this if it wasn't Disney.

There are MANY reasons that I dislike the Nemo show. It's long, kind of boring (just a retelling of the movie) and difficult to plan around. The kids did enjoy it and it was *almost* redeemed when the bubbles dropped at the end just because it was unexpected so a kind of magical moment for the kids. I don't hate it but I'd never do it again and if anyone who'd never done it asked my opinion I'd tell them to skip it. :confused3
