FRIENDS, PHOTOGRAPHS, and Birthday FUN! 3/3 30 Day Photo Challenge Day 21

I really like the comparisons you drew between yourself and Ariel, Hope! Yes, there are a few negative things that could be said about Ariel, but they could be said about all of the Disney princesses! That's what makes a character have depth, right? :rotfl: If I ever write about our Beauty and the Beast movie night, I might just go on a rant about Belle! Now, that's one messed up lady! :lmao: Kidding, kidding. I love Belle! Anywho... I have always loved that picture of the castle ever since seeing it on your TR. I feel like it has a "dreamy" quality to it. I also remember that story from your TR about seeing your daughter react to seeing the castle for the first time :goodvibes It made me all teary eyed! I literally LOLed at one of your reasons for not really caring for the Nemo show - it isn't something that can easily be planned around! You are so right! We still haven't seen that show because of that same reason! Maybe this year we can work it in the plan.

and I've still never seen it! We passed it right by this trip as well, for me it's b/c it's just too long and hard to plan around the times it's showing. Luckily the girls didn't notice and we were busy doing other things (like riding EE!!!) :goodvibes

That's absolutely right! No relationship is perfect and Ariel just happens to be a different species than her man. :rotfl:

Haha- can you say Stockholm Syndrome. ;)

Awww, thanks. :lovestruc

All good DISers have their priorities straight- and touring plans is at the top of the list! :rotfl2:

Trust me, you aren't missing much!

This is funny as I don't really like the Nemo show either. I would much rather see FOTLK anyday!!! :goodvibes

Me too! FotLK is so unique and has an original story and songs instead of just rehashing scenes from the movie. I do think the puppetry is impressive in the Nemo show but that isn't enough to make me like it.

A picture of something you've never ridden/seen in the parks:

I was really looking forward to M:S because of an essay I once read which describes it beautifully(actually the description is of Mission to Mars but the relevant parts of the ride are the same). He talks about the emotional response he had as he saw the earth on the horizon. It just sounded so magical and I was so looking forward to it- but Kya chickened out at the last minute! Disney has a bad habit of OVER warning for their rides- they really want to make sure people aren't surprised by things but sometimes the warnings are very over the top (the warnings for Soarin' are similar to roller coaster warnings!)

So, the warning had Kya freaked out and the closer we got to the front the more scared she got. :confused3 We were just about to go into our pod when she said she just couldn't do it. Robbie and Jace rode while I took her to the play area at the end to wait for them. I'm definitely looking forward to riding this one (GREEN SIDE!) when Karen and I are there. :thumbsup2

It will be a first for both of us! Savannah got freaked out as well, which is strange, but since she had never been on it I guess it was fear of the unknown!

A picture of your favorite in park character:

This is a bit of a cheat since we didn't meet her in a park but at a resort restaurant- but she can be found in the the parks and we did see her in a parade at MK. Is that enough justification for my choice? ;)

It really could have been either of the sisters or Lady Tremaine but since it's one photo and she's the one that posed with both kids at the same time Anastasia edged the other two out- I'm sure she'd be THRILLED to have trumped her sister even if it was by default! :lmao:

A really funny moment happened when she went to sign the kids books- I had made their books from Natalie's pages on the DISign boards so it had a pic in the corner- but it didn't have the funny little hair accessory sticking up in the back. She rolled her eyes and said in a very exasperated voice that "You people with the picture books NEVER get my hair right!" And then she proceeded to draw the thing onto the back of the hair! :rotfl2:

These ladies were definitely a hoot and the dinner at 1900 PF was well worth it!

I completely forgot to post a pic for the challenge yesterday! I guess I'll just have to do two today- one this morning and one this evening. If I remember! :confused3

A picture of the ride/attraction you miss the most:

I'm so glad we saw Mickey and Minnie's houses before they got destroyed! I loved all the details that were included in both of them and I'm sad they are gone! I'm sure the Fantasyland expansion is going to be amazing and well worth the loss but I still miss them!

A picture of your favorite Disney restaurant:

We had the QSDP on our trip and only on TS meal (at 1900 PF). I love the character interaction at PF but the food was only so-so and it was a pretty pricey OOP meal for the quality of the food. So, my favorite restaurant (so far) is a CS- Cosmic Ray's!

All I have is a pic of the food! I don't have a single pic of a restaurant- I was always too busy getting the food porn shots! :rotfl: (And this one isn't a great one because I took a bite before remembering to get a pic.)

I'll admit that I don't really remember that the food was anything special but the portions were great, there was a lot of variety for my family full of picky eaters and we got to sit outside to eat. :thumbsup2

Karen and I are planning on the DDP for our trip and have already been pouring over menus- I'm looking forward to having a new favorite. ;)

I hope you do like M:S when you get to go on it next year. The same thing happened with Coy on our last trip - he chickened out at the last minute and I went on with True. He had a blast playing the games as he waited for us, though. The interaction you had with Anastasia was great! She's the same woman from the pic in my PTR and I see her a lot on YouTube. I think that particular woman playing her really gets into playing the part and she is fantastic at it! How dare you get her hair wrong?!? :rotfl: I agree with you on Mickey and Minnie's houses. They will be missed!

There are so many things to love about WDW but this was still super easy for me! I absolutely love everything about Soarin'! :lovestruc

The feeling of flying, the surprises, the smells, the fireworks- I could ride it over and over.

I think you're right about that Anastasia- she's just SO good! We saw a couple of youtube videos that featured her as well. :goodvibes

Kya enjoyed the games as well but wasn't willing to wait alone- oh well, that's why we plan more trips! ;)

Great shot! I'm totally up for multiple Soarin' rides! Test Track too! :thumbsup2

I'm starting to get excited at the prospect of riding all of the thrill rides on our trip- I always have to skip them because of my kids so I haven't ridden a coaster in years! :thumbsup2

Whoops- I completely forgot about posting last night! I've had an extremely busy week and it just totally slipped my mind. :confused3

Oh well, two updates today I suppose. :thumbsup2

A picture of something you wish you could change about the parks:

That's a picture of Kya at the airport on our way to WDW because the main thing I'd change is how far away it is! :rotfl:

WAIT, I didn't realize that until you just told me! WOOOOT! :woohoo:

I can celebrate- I won't be 40 for a few more years. :p
